Winds turn a tame course into a lion. I went 78/77 over 2 rounds and I though...here we go again. Was able to chalk up a +1 73 in the 3rd and then I carded my 1st ever sub par round in tournament play with a -3 69 in the final round
78 77 73 69
+9 for the tourney after a +58 last week...I'll take it.

Just have to say Jim that final round 69 is sweet. Even a virtual golfing god like myself could only muster a 71!
Well done mate. A great way to end the tournament.

Shoulda been a 67...I choked going into 16. I was sitting 4 under after 15 and thought..I got this....nope...like Eminem says.."Snap back to reality"

Well done. I managed the same 69 last round after choking on a couple of holes. I expected my score to be better with the lesser winds but with different pin placements i didnt adapt as well as i should of.
72 74 71 69 -2 altogether
Won't be too far off i don't imagine. I think about - 5 to -10 should win it. Could be wrong though.

I hovered around par on every practice round I played..the 69 was the 1st round in the 60's I have carded...I got better over each round and shaved 49 strokes off last weeks tourney finish..so I'm happy with that. The wind makes this course very tough with the long rough and a lot of trees and overhangs. Just hoping my +9 finish puts me in the top 30 to erase that strike from last weeks tourney.

I think you've done really well. It was very tough i'm thinking that you should be ok with that score. It's also a really great turnaround from last weeks tourney. You can take a lot of confidence into next weeks event.

I'm afraid that I am just getting worse when trying to manage the winds.
Did not put too much practice in which I should have and end result was no round under 80.
I have no strikes as yet but sure to after this result.
Kind regards to all,
oz

This week is going to be a lot tougher than most people thought it was going to be. The winds in the 1st 3 rounds make this course play about 500 yds longer than it is..should be good for an average of 4-6 strokes per player over practice rounds. It's nice that we know the courses ahead of time, but practicing in this game is pretty much useless...the tournament winds rarely if ever appear in practice rounds. I think it's time to re-think this "wind fix". In my opinion it has ruined this game for most.

I hate this game. 82,80 so far. In round 2, 6 of the 8 were on 2 holes

Sorry, but I don't think 13 mph wind is unfair. The first round of the Web event last week had 22 mph wind.

Awesome! I'm envious. After a practice round (with tough winds), I'm hoping to maybe see a negative number, too. I think it's possible! I'm using a new controller that doesn't shank every shot and on a course that looks manageable. All my optimism surely won't end in a disaster. Right?

Sorry, but I don't think 13 mph wind is unfair. The first round of the Web event last week had 22 mph wind. 13 mph was the lowest wind I had in round 1 and that was on the 1st tee. Most times it was 15mph-18mph. It's not a point of how "fair" it is. The problem is we can't practice in those winds, we have no way of getting better in the wind because of that fact. You can't jump to another course because conditions differ from course to course. We need to be able to set winds high on the course we play in the tournament, until we can do that..practice rounds are useless other than the fact you know what the greens do.
