Disclaimer - Forgive me, as this has probably been exhausted previously - but I just don't frequent the forums enough to know.
Not a flex, but I've won 3 times on Elite over the past 2 seasons - and I've been promoted/demoted to Plat a few times and ranked as high as 70th in the world. But I simply cannot compete with the extraordinary players on Plat week in/out. I mean I play very quick and almost casually it would seem, but still talented at the game.
I see players that I look up to but are still 20+ shots behind the leaders currently this week through 3 rounds - that's absurd!
In a perfect word - I would like to see a 'Legends Tour' - let the top 30ish ITW? or so golfers just battle it out - keep Platinum how it is but it gives more leeway to players like myself and others with an outside chance to do better on this tour and have a little more enjoyment.
I think also, a lot of serious TGCT golfers don't stick around because it's a mental thing most likely and I'll admit it. Once you get to Plat, it's like oh okay yeah thanks I guess? lol
Just a thought. Like I've said, it's probably been beaten to death - but if there's any glimpse or hope of it happening, I'd love to see it maybe for next installation of 2k?
Thanks!

I’m only in CC-A at the minute got promoted to Kinetic earlier this season where I found it tough so I’m back down to CC again. What I would like to see are promo marks given out by platform, say the top 5 on each platform gain a promo mark. I’m on Xbox and using a Wolverine controller which has levelled the playing field a little with the PS but not totally there’s not a lot of difference between PC and Xbox scores. This week for example in sitting 4th on the Xbox leaderboard, 5th against the PC leaderboard but way down tied 17th against the PS leaderboard, you could leave demo marks as is but I would love to see a change on how promo marks are awarded. I’ve actually had a good week this week got it to -40 under.

I wanna say that TGCTours is using its max number of societies, so creating a new TGCT-supported "Legends Tour" society wouldn't be doable. To be fair, I'm not 100% sure on that, but I feel that the society limit comes up any time the idea of creating new flights gets introduced.

There's always going to be people stuck in the "between zones" for two levels. It would be nice for you to have a top 30 tour so you're then more middle of the pack on Plat, but for the #30 player in the world, they'll still be stuck between a tour they can dominate and a tour they can't compete for victories, as it would be for the person at the bottom of the new platinum tour.
It would be better of the top tour was on more difficult settings. Even beyond just swing difficulty an green grid they could limit some of the other aids like aim marker and scout cam so people aren't able to zoom in and measure an exact number of boxes, short, long, left, or right of the pin for their aim from hundreds of yards out.

My ideal settings for platinum would be legend swing (or master, swing difficulty isn’t the biggest hurdle imo, but I’d prefer legend for the realism of the slight misses) marker off to take away the precision vibration users can avail of, green grids off and honestly, scout cam ON. Obviously I love proper true sim with it off but having it on would make it more accessible and allows you to have a look at landing zones albeit without the green grid on. I think you’d get more exciting results, people having off weeks when the putts don’t quite drop or they misjudge some partials on tricky courses. And you could use more grounded courses on those settings too. I get why TGCT wouldn’t do it. But just for the record (lol) I think it would be great! And I think everyone from CC up is good enough to score well playing like that.

Completely agree Craig. If we played legend then the courses would be less tricked up and the overall experience would be better but I also know that's a losing battle. There's a society (I think it's called Greenkeepers) that basically keeps master swing and green grid but gets rid of every other aid. I probably shoot 6 to 8 shots better than I would on legend swing / no grid but it's still way better and more realistic than playing with the aim marker and scout cam. Even for lag putting, taking away the aim marker makes it more of a golf problem and less of a math problem.

I've been saying this for weeks boys , either change it to legend better still the pro tours as it makes it a little more difficult for the buzz boys or take the aiming marker away and keep it on masters . It eliminates the maths putting with no marker is quite tricky on grids . Will be fun and a little more unpredictable. The boys who are in the pro tours are surely good enough for a more challenging experience. I agree with you both Ben & Craig just wish the tours would change it up a bit . Wouldn't hurt surely . Something new the games getting old now and becoming stale Let's try a few things out including TST it's totally dead on xbox and I think your be surprised how many would try it out if u made a few changes .

I feel like a lot of 'great' course creators just don't do it much anymore, but I could be wrong. So many courses I've played this title at least I just scratch my head sometimes - too much enforced 'artificial' difficulty. (most par 5s just don't make a ton of sense) .I think with legend difficulty, more courses would be available if that makes any sense? I'm all for tougher - I'm not doing any math out there anyway

IIRC - at the beginning of 2k23, we did test out legend swing right? I think even some didn't break par (I personally would love that) but yeah was a new game at the time. Good players will still do well even with tougher swing difficulty but I'm totally down for some shake ups.

Wow only 4 people played TST this week on XBox, I played my last round there when they went back to master as I just find that skill level just really really boring to play even with no other aids. I am a no grids player only, but I was beginning to hate that ugly marker bang in the middle of the screen when playing TST tournaments even when it was legend. There are some extremely good players here that are basically playing a amateur swing difficulty level and boy do the scores round here really show what a walk in the park it is for so many who play on TGCTours.

It’s a nice complement to the tours 👍

I feel like there is some balance toward shotmaking the game mechanics. I get a much better action on the green when I hold a big draw or fade against a crosswind on my approach shots. It's way easier to control the rollout but I also get much skinnier light grey band and it involves many more things to estimate. Pretty hard to be precise to the yard on a landing spot.
What a lot of players are doing on the tours seems more like calculating artillery fire than hitting golf shots, with spreadsheets that tell them how many grid boxes to move their aim based on wind and elevation, landing exactly where they plan if they get a perfect. Then another sheet that tells them exactly how to read putts based off zooming into the grid lines. Many of those players probably copied someone else's spreadsheet and didn't even map out their carry themselves. It's not the type of test I think reveals who are actually best at simulated golf.
