Here's what I'm now doing. Set Masters overall difficulty, and turn off the Swing Timing setting. Then change the Swing Difficulty to Legend. Removing the swing timing from the game while making the swing plane harder had made the game much more fun for me. It's still difficult, but at the same time seems much more fair than the way it is now. So, in order to feel like it's fair, you're turning off tempo... Am i understanding that correctly? Not sure how that will help you prep to play on tour, but whatever floats your boat. tippy2k There are loads of people enjoying the game, and understanding it's just bloody difficult, but finding ways to work with the tempo... Tip 1, do not EXPECT to hit perfect tempo every time. Play for the areas of the green that will leave you a decent look at a putt, and split the difference between perfect and slightly fast / slow (whichever is your preference). If you hit a red fast / slow, you'll be further away that is ideal... but that's just tough sh%$... That's golf. Nobody, and I mean nobody, will legitimately hit all, or most of their shots perfect, so unless you're going to be the greatest video game golfer in the world overnight, get used to it, and try to allow for a favoured miss in your gameplay. Whether it's expecting it to go straight or expecting my shot to be Fast or Slow doesn't really matter as the game being inconsistent means it'll do what it wants. If all my shots had been going fast so I aim right to anticipate it, that'll work until the game goes "LOL WATCH NOW THAT SAME SWING IS SLOW ROFL!!!" At this point, I've just given up @!$#ing with Master Clubs. I'll find a different society to join since TGC has decided Master is the only thing worthy of their societies and hope that one day HB figures out how to fix their jankyass swing tempo system.

I'd have to agree with tippy2k on the issues with 'double cross' swings. I've had way too many shots where I'm trying to hit a fast tempo to take the right side out of play only to end up with a slow. If my player was an actual pro who hit that many double crosses, he'd be stuck on the tee box like Kevin Na a few years back.

Managed to hit a handful of perfect swings in a row today, finished a round with two birdies and a par. Unfortunately the rest of the round was rubbish so I was still +6 😂
I was doing practice swings for a fair bit of the round but towards the end just decided not to bother and just go with muscle memory. Seemed to work better, at least for those few holes.

Good luck with HB lads... I’m out. Don't let the door hit you on the way out then. As I say, good luck with HB. If they even up tempo across the board, and I hope they do, then I hope you guys will be happy. I hope they even up the putting issues between the platforms too. I have considerable experience in dealing with game breaking issues with HB 1st hand. All I’ll say is, don’t expect much, but be as vocal as possible, with as much evidence as possible, as early as possible, and maybe, just maybe, you’re in with a shout. It took them a full iteration of the game to fix the issues that I showed them. Tempo is not random in PS4 (my experience ) or PC using a controller (experience of multiple elite level players that I trust). Can’t comment on XB, but historically, tempo issues abound there. Anyhow, with that, I’ll leave you to it.

Tempo is based on transition. Apologies for veering us back on topic but these few words really helped me understand the swing.
Treating it as one fluid motion rather than backswing-downswing has me hitting a lot more perfects.
Not getting it right all the time (far from it) but feel like I understand it better when it goes bad.
Thanks Dax!

That's what I've found as well. I usually overswing, trying to stop it earlier or hold the stick just throws my rhythm out. I'm playing with a method currently of sort of easing the stick back then firmly pushing forward all in one motion like a real life swing. Like everyone I don't always hit perfect but I do find the misses are usually quite close to it, and I am hitting more perfects as well. The other issue is swing plane, obviously a perfect will go offline if that is off also.

I’ve been a golfer my whole life and I’d love for a swing to represent a real golf swing but I just don’t see it.
