I’m not sure if there would be a lot of interest in this, or just a little, but I’m going to run an unofficial design contest to see who can make the best mini golf course.
There will be very little in the way of rules or stipulations, as I don’t want to stifle any creativity for this, but we do need to have some generalized structure. Check out the details below and reply to this post if you want to be involved.
Registration:
-opens July 15th
Publish window:
-September 1st-15th
Entrants:
-unlimited
Course length:
-18 holes
Pars:
-holes of 2, 3, 4, and 5 are acceptable
Rules:
-every hole must use putter off the tee
-courses are not required to be realistic
-any theme is allowed
-no LiDAR plots
-chances for an ace are encouraged but not required
Judging/Scoring:
-judges will score each course between 0-50 points based on their subjective opinion of the technical execution, playability, environment, and overall enjoyment of the mini golf experience on the course.
Format:
-this contest will be a ranked event, 1-10, with 6th through 10th place being revealed as a group, and then the top 5 being named individually.
Grand Prize:
-the winner of the contest will host the mini-golf event in the Dirty Ankle Mafia society on November 24th in DAM Season 2.
-the winner of the contest gets a two-round event on the Casuals Golf Club society, worth about 600+ plays.
