Any chance of accepting 9 holes? The intricate nature of this coupled with my 15 hour workday and 5 kids has me sweating this deadline early. I would really much rather put out 9 awesome holes than 18 shades of crap. My first hole is so good though

My first hole is so good though Hey, Unfortunately not, as it would be hard to judge 9 hole courses against 18 hole courses, and my overall vision for this was to see a lot of good 18 hole mini golf. This is supposed to be a really chill contest though, so don't stress about it. If you can't finish it for the contest, you can always finish it at another point. I'll probably just do a ranked contest, that way there's no hardship if people get to the deadline and don't finish. We'll just go with what we have in at that time. Good luck to ya! |

Having never played TGC 2019 mini-golf courses before, I went and looked at variety of the published ones and this brought questions to my mind:
Do think the Judges have a type of course in mind, i.e. fantasy, RCR type (imagine LiDar for a Mini LOL) or something in between. I would say that most of the courses I looked at were more fantasy than real. Also I know you have to tee-off with a putter but is the game putters only?

Hopefully judges never have a specific type of course or style in mind for any contest, because that would remove a lot of subjectivity. I myself would be equally interested in real and fantasy concepts.
Regarding LiDAR, we don’t allow that in any contests because the PS4 and XB1 designers can’t use that, so it isn’t fair to them.
Most mini-golf courses are intended as putt-putt style designs, where a player can get through the whole course with a putter, butt the only rule for the contest regarding this is that you must tee off with a putter, so as long as that requirement is met, I’m not going to stifle your creativity beyond that.
Make sense?

I am already looking forward to the 532 yard putter-2 wood-2 wood hole  P.S. Someone should seriously do that. |
