It means absolutely nothing in the scheme of things, just go out, play your rounds, have a laugh and if you do well, great. Seriously its @!$#ing ridiculous at times. There are flaws in every game that will always be exploited. They're flawed things. Always will be. You remove one thing, within a week someone will be pissing and whining about something else. Remove all green grids, any suggestion of wind speed, add random squirts out of heavy rough, fix ghosts so they only play their shot after you, make it as damn realistic as you like and someone will not be happy. If you want to play realistic golf, go to a course. It's beyond tiresome tbh. I like the banter on here but some of you need to give the old head a @!$#ing wobble. It's the spirit of competition that gets people fired up man. Nobody wants to be screwed by uneven play. I rarely speak on here anymore but when I do, I do it with conviction. Im not just trying to start an argument. I do play real golf. No comparison to this so not really worth talking about that. As far as the yahoo talking about poo on his shoes..an idiot. Glad I was able to get a good one going. I know Tim, Scott, and all of them wish I would just go away. Lol But it is not uneven play. Every single player has the same opportunity to do the same things in this game (ghost balls, lofting, flopping, ect..). It is certainly your perogitive to do/not do any of these things but it is part of the game so you starting this thread just comes off as whining because someone is now playing better than you. It tells a lot that you believe you got a good thing going by creating another whining "this person isn't playing fair" thread. These have been popping up way too often. |

I think it's unreasonable to accuse Griffin of unfair playing methods.
He's one of the most open and helpful players in this community.
I've watched his streams on several occasions, not once have I thought he's using a ghost ball to gain an advantage. I have never once seen him go to an opponents shot and view 'watch replay'.
It's pretty obvious to me the reason he's great at the game, is because he's a magnificent putter. That has nothing to do with ghosts, that's a skill.
For those that suggest for TGCT 2 one ghost turn enabled, like TST, I think that's a great idea, I play better that way because it slows my game down dramatically.
I don't like threads where members try to harangue others for no justifiable reason. Griffin has a wonderful moral compass. I'm sure I'm not the only person who thinks that.

Its not as if you have no access to do the exact same if you wish or not as you wish. Which leads me to this. People died and plenty of them so as-sholes like you cannot tell as-sholes like me what I can and cannot do. The world for the most part is fairly free. For you to make the assumption that you somehow have the right to dictate how others play a game because that is your preference, is fairly self centered. You obviously believe that you are ultimately important in the grand scheme of things. But you are nothing, a nobody, just yet another loser trying to fck things up for everyone else because you have delusions that you are somehow great at everything you do, and anyone doing better must be cheating. Its completely delusional; watch doubtful and any of his streams and you might see through your clouded view, that he is simply really good at this game. You could take away his ghosts and he would still excel at the game. But your delusional self would then again come up with some other reason why he is so much better than you. Just that simple really. Not going to apologize either, to many people died to stop people like you, and I'm thankful for their efforts and their sacrifices. |

This thread wasn't about him. This thread was about players that wait and play with the best ghosts from Friday at midnight and on into the week. He happens to be one of those players.
Basically I was calling out all players who don't have the balls, no pun intended, to go out early.
I've heard the "my schedule" excuse enough. I work all hours of the day and night. And I am always able to get em in early.
I'm no different than cgilb, Jules, in the respect that we all go out early. We don't wait around for ghosts. They are better than I am but I know for a fact that they are better than I am legitimately.

I go out Sat a few hours after publishing, my preference, I'm currently watching as i type doubtful stream, watched him play the first 2 rounds of the WGC. So he played, he streamed, he still is sitting in a tie for 2nd 1 shot off the lead. He played with not 1 single ghost.
He changed what he enjoyed to appease your delusional attitude.
I absolutely do not one bit agree that he should of done that, however he did.
I don't agree, because i have a knowledge of the game and completely know that once a certain level is achieved, ghosts if anything do more harm than they do good.
But he did it anyway to make you happy, will you be happy, likely not, you will just go on to your next reason why people are better than you and make more stupid suggestions. Try practice, and until you try that, you never will get better by just telling other people what they should or should not do.

For about 12 weeks (the duration of my spring semester), I played exclusively on the opening weekend because I didn't have my Xbox with me in my dorm during the week. I still played with ghosts, yes, but I couldn't wait on the best ones like you imply. Like I said previously, waiting a few days is my preference because I'm more intent and focused when I have a target number to aim for. That waiting was exacerbated this week by my need to finish my Web contest course in time, so I'm sorry for that. At least there's no cut at the WGC.
Boomer, my not playing with ghosts was to prove to anyone who doubts my ability (pun intended) that I am perfectly capable without assistance. I plan on continuing this for the foreseeable future.
Thank you, Mark, for the kind words. I try to be an agreeable person on these forums, but this thread has frustrated me to the point where I could no longer contain myself. I hope most people feel the same as you do about me, but that's mostly out of my control.

I played The Masters without ghosts to prove a similar point. I still played quite well, and I thought that would be enough to quell any suspicion. I was wrong. You should have no reason to cast doubt on any of my future success, but I'm sure people will find something else to target soon enough.

You are not the center of the universe, you have zero right to tell others what they should or should not do, but do anyway, you do not make the rules, but try to anyway, you make nonsensical suggestions in an attempt to spoil the way people decide to enjoy the game because that is the way you enjoy the game. Your delusional in a fantasy land about your skills and the skills of others. Yeah I don't see anything good to say. I see no positive contributions to the community only innuendo and complaints about others and other stuff. I see absolutely zero effort to improve but great effort to bring others down to your level. Maybe it's time for you to re-think what you really want. We have a great game with an even playing field, best ever, most even leveled golf game ever in the history of golf games, anyone with the slightest of effort can excel. We have TGCT that provides the best most enhanced career mode in the history of golf games ever. And all you do is complain and provide zero positive contribution. Yeah sorry bud, cant see anything nice to say. And when someone attempts to stomp on my freedoms, I tend to squish them like the bug they are. |

Wow, what a really stupid line of reasoning in this thread. The whole "...if you don't play how I think you should be playing, it is cheating..." thought process is just garbage. Nobody is breaking any rules that are set, so what's the issue? If there was a rule you had to play your first round in the first 24/48 hours or you can't use ghosts, and someone does that, you have something to complain about. Surprised you even bothered to respond to this Griffin, but I get that at some point it wears you down. People that know you understand you are a quality player who worked hard to improve you game. Real shame someone wants to try to poke holes in that. Plus, you are one of the only top players that helps those that ask (me included). There are a lot more that think that way than the idiocy of this thread. Just watched your stream too and it's obvious this has bothered you. Maybe splittailace you should go start your own site and tour system with your own rules. |
