I have the 1st 2 rounds of this weeks Web event and the Open qualifier done. I only have the 1st round of the TST SE event done as I haven't had the time, will hopefully get that done sometime tonight. I mostly follow ghost ball around on the TST events.
That being said, I have used ghost balls (not every single time) in tourneys. And IMO it has no affect on performance. The ghost ball could finish a round -12 and I could finish it E and vice versa. The ghost ball may show a player what club and shot type the player used, but doesn't show the loft they used. Many time times I've seen ghost balls use a certain club, then I work out what I need and realise it's better to either go up or down a club and loft accordingly and ended up with a much better shot. Other times that has been completely wrong.
The only thing I would like to see changed at the moment is the late registrations. For this I mean put a deadline on registration, so that you MUST be registered for the event before it goes live. The reason for this being that I have seen a good few times players playing the event and seeing how they do. Then late registering if they do (what they feel to be) good enough after seeing what scores have been posted. And if not they don't register. I have also noticed this on the TST events. Players (outside the WGR top 40) playing both the main and secondary events, then whichever they do better on they register for.
That's the only thing (for me) that I think needs to be looked at. I mean you wouldn't be able to do it irl....just turn up on the day an event kicks off, then keep playing if you do well, or throw your toys out of the pram and walk of the course if you don't.

Please be aware that TST has the honor rule that you are limited to one ghost in turn based mode. Can't be policed, but golf is a gentleman's game.
TST allows up to three live playing partners, again in turn based mode.
Otherwise Ballz is spot on about how to solve the problem.

Late registration was removed because the ADMINS where getting too many emails asking to register late for events. Even if the rule was that no player can register late, I believe they would still get emails.

Made perfect sense to me when I wrote it but now I don't even know what i was trying to say.

Go to the leaderboard for the wgc event right now and look at players still to tee off. Makes my point. Plane and simple. Absolutely not. The fact that someone is not showing up on the leaderboard of the WGC (or any other recent event) doesn't mean he hasn't played yet. We all know (and have discussed that extensively) that some guys love to hold their score(s) as long as possible. Just mentioning...

I'm a *censored by Doyley*, *censored by Doyley*, straight-shooting, XB1-using, ghost-ball-watching, stream-mapping, note-taking, multi-accounting, lurking, super-lofting, chart-abusing, green-chipping, wind-waiting, putt-previewing, squirt-manipulating, GameSharking cheater, and I am *very* offended by all this talk. How else can I do well at this *censored by Doyley* game?
(This'll probably be removed, but man, it was worth it. Sorry, mods.)

Yes you in fact are one of those I'm referring to Griffin. Thanks for joining so I can call you out legitimately without my post being removed. You exploit it. You've told me in a message that you do. What is your response to the community? To the fact that, you in fact wait to play with the best ghost balls on xbox week in and week out. That you use this exploit every week, that other tours have had to make agreements to keep it fair and only use one ghosts/tourney, etc.
Im fully engaged in this thread now

I take it you called me out in the original thread? Fair enough: like I said, I'm a dirty cheat.
I do play with ghosts, yes. The main reason I do so (now) is that I enjoy trying to keep up with them, and because it enhances the overall experience (feels less lonely out there). Originally, I focused much more on trying to copy their shots, but now (within the last month or two) about all I do is look at the line on a putt if they're behind me. If the ghost is closer, I generally avert my eyes and don't look at it, but you'll have to take my word on that. I don't feel I've wronged the community at all, but you're free to disagree. I used to exclusively play with the best-scoring ghosts, but I usually follow friends or whomever the game gives me at the start.
I don't wait for the sake of ghost balls. I do it for two reasons: 1) I like having a target score to shoot for; I feel I play better. 2) I'm a chronic procrastinator. Believe what you want, though.
For the record, there was one week I didn't use them: The Masters, where I tanked incredibly badly to a missed cut. Wait, wait, I actually finished 5th. My bad.
I can't wait for ghosts to be changed. I'd prefer for them to just play in proper order, but I'll support removing them for tourneys, if that's what happens. Then you guys will have one fewer thing to complain about.

And you will no longer be in the top 5 wgr.
I speculate in that statement but I'm sure that statement would hold some water.
Rest assured you're not the only one Griffin.
And the fact that you're offended doesn't mean anything. This is what happens when people disagree with each other and aren't silenced and shunned. I say you cheat. You say you don't. Heaven forbid the masses choose to agree with me. It would be total anarchy.

Oh, I'm sure I'll drop out of the top 10. I think I'll stop playing with them now, just to accelerate my decline. Rip the Band-Aid off.

Since there are no rules or even recommendations for ghosts on the main tours I don't see the problem with people using them...
Ghosts should be fixed but until they are its just how the game works unfortunately. I'd like to think that the TST honor rule works, but who knows.
Note-taking and stream-mapping are just signs of someone having a borderline unhealthy interest in the game but perfectly legal.

I'd be more than willing to comply with some sort of honor system, as well. I stream most of my tourney rounds now, so that could be easily enforced on me.
I was joking in my first post in this thread, by the way. I added some stupid things to hopefully make it clear, but sarcasm sometimes doesn't work in text.
