Just a thought.....
IRL Professional golfers who tee off in the afternoon will be avidly watching live play on monitors and tv's to see how the greens roll and to see what clubs others are using, is this not similar to using a ghost ball in TGC.
I use ghost balls , usually my friends but i only ever have them turn based

I'd say that's more like watching streams.
The issue is not the ghost balls - it's that they play out of turn and you can pick them freely in tournaments. If they behaved like real golf it would be a much smaller issue.

I decided to have another read at all this sh%$. I feel like I've came quite a long way in almost a year. That being said, I'm not sure how many useful suggestions I can offer. I'm very middle of the pack when it comes to this game. I just can't putt consistently at all. EVER. I feel like it's the 1 thing that holds me back. Well, that and my love for trying stupid shots even though I watched a ghost do the "sensible" thing. I've started streaming my rounds generally. For the most part I play them all consecutively. I usually play them as soon as the new week goes live. There are no ghosts out there at that time to use. I can honestly say that I have played BETTER after I stopped using them. (Except for Nomad this week.) I can, however, see them being advantageous to some extent. I've never watched a ghost replay, but I'm sure people do and try to mimic the shot. They really bothered me when it came to putting. They just seemed in my way. I finally figured out how to turn them off and it still didn't help my putting. Also, the rest of my game didn't go to dog sh%$. There was this one time...I started up a round at whatever course and selected Ian's and Bradley's ghost to play. I didn't exactly "study" what they were doing. I just realized that they are much better than me at certain aspects. I also watched their tiny ghost balls flying by the hole from 8 feet. I watched them chip in, putt well, throw darts, and just play very well for the most part. I may never be on their level nor anyone else who is really great at this game. But, I have fun and enjoy the game. (I did beat Jr. last week, though.) I still say that ghosts don't make me better or worse. I enjoy using them still in the RRCC. I enjoy NOT having them when I play my tour rounds. It's all personal preference. I would like to see them turn-based. That's just golf. Play in order. Period. I still say NO to tee times. (My country club frowns on not having one if you show up to play) #beatingadeadhorse

Possibly your most sensible post ever Daxon! I agree with you. There probably are people who use ghosts in a way that might not be sporting, but to be honest I don't really care. Personally if I've got the time I enjoy playing a turn based 3-ball in my tournament rounds against players I know are on my level or slightly above, purely for the fun of the competition, I'd hate to see that taken away. I never play with the meteor trails, they put me off. I learnt a long time ago not to change my shot based on what I've seen because I always seem to get myself in trouble so it's very rare they'd influence my shot. Anyway, if you're teeing off last it means you're not doing very well! I can see the argument, what would be good was if ALL shot information was hidden (club used, wind, etc) and you just had the player taking his shot.

A suggestion would be cross-platform play.

The other thing nobody seems to have mentioned is, if we ban ghosts how are we going to police chipping on the greens?

But I have always been able to chip well. To me this game is reasonably decent in reality on the chipping. The flopping is way too easy though. Anyway if the double the difficulty in chipping, because I'm a rotten putter too, I will be back in CCAm before you know it. Never have chipped or pitched on the green in tournament play. One time I was actually where my putting line had the fringe jutt out in my way and I elected to putt my ball into that fringe then chip rather that chipping on the green and worry that I would be called a cheat.

I get your point and in fact people are more likely to flop than chip when further away so I certainly agree the flop shot should be made much harder. My main issue with the chip shother is direction is too easy and most people hole too many. Distance control is more difficult. For me the current chip is more a chip and run. I'd like to see more of a standard chip shot with more elevation and less roll.

That is partially a function of the fast green setting in this game being concrete and very unrealistic.
