But those who have created and or participated in the tst have found this unwritten rule to be legit. Are we saying that the tst is the paramount tour? Is the tst what players should be aspiring to become a member of instead of the regular pga/euro tours? The media for the website is not conveying this message if that is the case. The message that you aspire to become a top tiered member of the pga/euro tours isn't the best you can be then.
Is that a correct assumption?

I'm a bit partial, lets leave it at that...
The PGA and Euro are the main tours and they have the best depth of field. The game is what it is. Personally I've basically lost interest in playing with aids on and a full set of ghosts playing out of turn, but to each his/her own.

Since there are no rules or even recommendations for ghosts on the main tours I don't see the problem with people using them... Ghosts should be fixed but until they are its just how the game works unfortunately. I'd like to think that the TST honor rule works, but who knows. Note-taking and stream-mapping are just signs of someone having a borderline unhealthy interest in the game but perfectly legal. There certainly is a lot of unhealthy interest in the game. Anyone and I mean anyone telling anyone how they need enjoy the game is completely unhealthy. I recall first we had the suggestion that it was the wind keeping the players at the top and if changes were made they would no longer be at the top. Hmmm how did that work out? Now ghosts will be the magic pill, personally I know it will not, but whatever floats your boat. Anyone and I mean anyone who believes Note-taking and stream-mapping, beyond maybe a couple strokes per tournament, is helping anyone has absolutely zero clue how this games works. This same person may feel better that this is why they are being beat week in and week out and great we all need to feel better, but they need seriously maybe start learning the game instead. There's a better tip, maybe just learn the game, look for the faults in the mirror because that is where they exist. Just like the wind was not the magic pill, eliminating ghosts will also not be the magic pill to anyone performing better. When you suck, you suck, some choose to try harder, some choose to ruin the game for others, some just try to get rid of the competition. 2 of those things are stupid, 1 will actually work. By the way, to all those freely telling others what they should or should not do in this game, your mother was wrong, you are not the center of the universe, you are the sh-it I scrape off my shoe at best. Yeah that was harsh, but It gets a little tiresome reading this crap about no aids, ghosts, notes, practice etc etc etc and so on and so forth day in and day out. Ok I succumb, all you no aids players are better than everyone else, happy now, maybe we can lose the every thread mention of the format now.

Go to the leaderboard for the wgc event right now and look at players still to tee off. Makes my point. Plane and simple. Absolutely not. The fact that someone is not showing up on the leaderboard of the WGC (or any other recent event) doesn't mean he hasn't played yet. We all know (and have discussed that extensively) that some guys love to hold their score(s) as long as possible. Just mentioning... wonder who that is?
this seems like a friendly chat, I normally play my tournament sunday and post my scores weds.
on ghosts would like to see them not hit a shot till you have hit yours, but im not sure it would affect the wgr much because I play live with smurf blueorfe t2theb2 trowelhead etc and they all shoot really good and theres no ghosts being used

Looks like iv missed out on a lively chat, heres my 2 cents.
The 'use' of ghost balls in tourney rnds is an admission that someone doesnt think they can play there own shots and work things out for themselves. Its not cheating in any way though as its not against any rules but does give the user an advantage over the others that dont.
All the other stuff like Stream watching, mapping, note taking is just a sign of someone who has no life outside of TGCT. These things absolutely Do help the user by arming them with info on every hole of every round (especially useful on par 3s) that they shudn have in a fair competition.
As for ppl complainin about things like these, i can understand the frustration and i think its fair to call these things out. Im sure there are many ppl out there who seek advantages over the field, whether its bugsy with his stream watchin or boom boom with his putting glitch/technique there will always be ppl lookin for cheap ways around just playin the game and the comps fairly for all.
The comparison to the wind update and how that may not hav changed anything I wud disagree with.
I joined TGCT a few months after it kicked off and a few weeks b4 the wind update. When i joined, Brionne was #1, Coates was #3/#4, Doyley was up there too. Since the wind update Brionne won 0 events, Coates has dropped off, Doyley has dropped off, players like DLW & Sloaner stopped altogether amongst others.
Im not sayin these were down to the wind update specifically but im sure it had some impact on a few.
Any big changes in the future whether it be restartin WGR for tgc 2 or removin ghost balls or stoppin ppl stream their rnds wud hav an impact on some peoples progression in the game.
The sad truth of it is there is advantage players all over TGCT and unless somethin drastic changes we'll just hav to get on with it.

I'm a *censored by Doyley*, *censored by Doyley*, straight-shooting, XB1-using, ghost-ball-watching, stream-mapping, note-taking, multi-accounting, lurking, super-lofting, chart-abusing, green-chipping, wind-waiting, putt-previewing, squirt-manipulating, GameSharking cheater, and I am *very* offended by all this talk. How else can I do well at this *censored by Doyley* game? (This'll probably be removed, but man, it was worth it. Sorry, mods.) so that's how u got to number 3, makes sense now

Twice I have caught someone cheating by watching their ghost. This would increase if ghosts were removed.
So, if someone uses a ghost, they have an advantage over someone who does not? The folks that advocate for no ghost want to remove that advantage, thus giving them an advantage.
Suck it up and play, there is no money involved here so just enjoy.

I didn't take anything as far as telling someone they were sh#t on the bottom of my shoe. For you to tell me that I am that is a pretty harsh statement. I laugh at it because I'm a big boy with thick skin. And if I seen you in person I'd slap you in the mouth for talking that way. You said that removing ghosts wouldn't change anything and you know it. Please explain how there is no advantage to playing with a ghost ball on max/firm conditions or any conditions. I'm interested in hearing how there is no advantage.

'slap you in the mouth for talking that way' holy freaking sh%$ lol
It's a @!$#ing videogame, play and enjoy it. It means absolutely nothing in the scheme of things, just go out, play your rounds, have a laugh and if you do well, great.
Seriously its @!$#ing ridiculous at times. There are flaws in every game that will always be exploited. They're flawed things. Always will be. You remove one thing, within a week someone will be pissing and whining about something else.
Remove all green grids, any suggestion of wind speed, add random squirts out of heavy rough, fix ghosts so they only play their shot after you, make it as damn realistic as you like and someone will not be happy. If you want to play realistic golf, go to a course.
It's beyond tiresome tbh. I like the banter on here but some of you need to give the old head a @!$#ing wobble.

It's the spirit of competition that gets people fired up man. Nobody wants to be screwed by uneven play. I rarely speak on here anymore but when I do, I do it with conviction. Im not just trying to start an argument. I do play real golf. No comparison to this so not really worth talking about that. As far as the yahoo talking about poo on his shoes..an idiot. Glad I was able to get a good one going. I know Tim, Scott, and all of them wish I would just go away. Lol

You're a renegade sir, that's clear. Let loose from those shackles of the PC and tells it how it is. Very refreshing...
