Also, having one feeder tour (Web) going into two main tours (PGA and Euro) seems a tad harder to predict the flow of exemptions. Is it time TGCTours thought about adding the European Tour feeder tour? Those who want to end up on PGA play the Web, those who want to end up on Euros go through the Challenge Tour.
Benefits could mean another course out of thousands in the database gets plays plus it'll be easier to maintain the flow between top tours and feeders. Maybe have to ditch the CCE in order to have fuller fields.
And whilst I'm at it, crossovers could only be available for those in the top 100 in the WGR.

Those who would have been demoted with 3 consecutive cuts who are members of the European Tour through the first 10 weeks of the season...
Week 3
Henry Hatch Heikki Henrisken Ian Dick Ralph Mitchell Glenn True Luke Oswin Tony Flowers Janne Pohjola Matt Wilson
Week 4
Andy Hasty
Week 5
-
Week 6
Dave Mills
Week 7
Nick Weisberger Derek Gibson Wes Hartman Joe Denise Scott Nelson Gerard Charnley
Week 8
Colin Flowerdew Leslie Sangster Lee Edgson Gary Bosson Andrew Ball William Bradford
Week 9
Roddy MacDougall (Notable that he is 79th on Money List and 19th in WGR) Alistair Vale Matthew Quick (Now on Web, self-demotion, the only player to do so out of this list) Steve McFlinn Greg Hutchison
Week 10
John McCluskey Francois Gonin Kris Johnson
31 players in 10 weeks would have been demoted from the European Tour. Note that this is only including those who posted scores. There are loads of people that registered but didnt post scores. I would have been happy being demoted after week 3, however if there was the rule in place I would have played a lot more focused in week 3 that's for sure. Would MacDougall have been happy being demoted? Or would he have been more focused? Make of it what you will.

This is great news Tim/Doyle. As always you guys figure it all out over time. These additions are absolutely necessary

Great discussion. I like the idea of web.com feeding PGA and Challenge Tour feeding Euro... Maybe confusing with Challenge Circuit though :-D. Players at that level would have twice the change of a win/top 10 etc, more courses would be used and players would have the crossover choice adding to excitement etc.
In terms of filling top tours, I think a dynamic fill requirement based on an average spare capacity on top tours could work. I.e if for the last 3 weeks there was an average of 20 spare places then the following week there are 20 spaces up for grabs, a percentage automatic and the rest have to make a cut. Actually, given not all are a sure thing and there may be demotions, there could be an extra 5 always added. Maybe these numbers don't quite work, but a supply and demand model is basically my suggestion.

Probably a mix of many that should drop down along with some who should not. I think priority 1 is to get the upper tours filled. We should have full fields and lowest WGR gets first spots in just like the real tours. The beauty of the TGC is it can evolve as we move forward. The reality is that the longer the game gets from being a new release game, we will continue to lose players. When and if we get a TGC 2, we'll see a fresh new wave come into the game.

I would suggest adding a Europro Tour, to feed into the European Tour and let the Web.com feed into the PGA. I also think the CC could do with more tiers and maybe a smaller field in each tier. That should make movement between tiers a bit more efficient.
I agree that exemptions should be compulsory.

This is starting to annoy me not the thread it's great.
But yet again I think Oswinner has hit the nail on the head and came up with another great idea!
Web.com PGA Web.com Euro
I'm not 100% on the demotions in the current meta but inactive players should be pegged down more frequently say 4 weeks no plays down you go.
I've no idea how many inactive players there are but having every week having 280 lads battling it out in the top 2 tours is what we all want don't we?

I'm not a fan of the double web tour idea. I get why it would be suggested though. The web.com community has been great this year. It would be diluted if it was spread across 2 tours.

I was happy to gain my Web card. Not only because it felt like my game was improving but the Web threads are by far the most entertaining on these forums and the people contributing are among the best group of people I've encountered online. It's simply a blast to be on Web. With that said, I'd take a shot on Euro first chance I got. Off topic I know, but I had to get that out.

Not a fan of enforced demotions at all. Biggest issue i had during my time on CC tours was a feeling of of non-ownership.
One would play in a certain group, loose form, drop down to another group, have a good tourney, move up again, go down again, rinse and repeat.
Had it not have been for getting a Web card i'd prolly have quit by now.
Working one's way up through the ranks is fine for guys who are relatively inexperienced and whose game is still showing an upward curve, but for dudes like myself who hit the ceiling on abilities by now it is just no fun going up and down between different groups like a yoyo.
The option to take a voluntary demotion is there, i guess one just have to swallow one's pride and take that option if needed. Tough choice i know
