I understand the idea about removing the aim marker for true sim, but I don't agree with it. The way the avatar sets up on screen it's too difficult to figure out where the hell it's aiming, the view down the hole doesn't look like it does in reality either, with objects a couple of hundred metres away looking more like they're 2 miles away. Then the wind meter gets in the way half the time on the high up camera view. Most of the time when I walk onto a tee I can see exactly where I need to hit it, I can pick a spot or a leaf or whatever on the ground on that line and aim at it with confidence. Whether I hit it there obviously depends on how well I swing but the marker allows that same level of confidence with aiming the shot. Without it just feels like stabbing in the dark. Totally disagree with you on this one and with marker on your aim to the pin is too accurate so there is your counter argument. Also marker looks so ugly and like grids ruins that clean screen. The only one problem with marker off is downhill putts camera angle. If they fix that it is the perfect way to play sim golf.I have absolutely zero problems lining up my shots and especially putts with marker off.

Having different difficulty levels promote into a harder difficulty is a hard no... that's been tried and caused way to much of a headache. What you guys are proposing with 2x CC for master and pro is basically a flighted beer league. That would require some work behind the scenes. There's a reason why we never flighted beer league... so not sure how realistic that idea is either. Nothing is off the table with the new game though. Best case scenario is on where the entire tour is on one difficulty...hopefully that's more balanced with the new game! I get you Dan, I really do, but if you want to keep the numbers it may have to be considered. A bit of budget there to work with. Iβm happy to play Master nowadays but not sure a lot are.

Perhaps, but it could be countered with a harder swing difficulty as well. A lot of tee shots are blind because the landing area looks like you're looking through binoculars the wrong way, whereas in real golf it obviously doesn't. There has to be some compromise to make finding an aim point similar to real golf. As for the putting, most of the time I'm just guessing because on my TV screen I can't see the slopes in the green unless the sun is low. I can't walk around and feel the slopes either. The flagstick doesn't always help because half the time it's leaning and the putt goes dead straight. I do enjoy the challenge but a lot of the medium length or longer ones if they go in it's pretty much a fluke that I've picked the right line.

Use the overhead view to find objects further down the course that you can then match from the tee view. Bunker edges, trees, cart paths, water edge, etc.

I honestly don't see why it is so difficult to see your aim, without marker it is just a vertical straight line from your clubface. Regarding no grid putting, I Know some struggle seeing breaks. For most that are putting no grids for a while it is far from guesswork.I actually putt better without marker, I find it annoying when playing TST, it hinders more than helps.

It might work with tee shots with drivers and woods but irons and wedges you can't see the sole of the club and where it's lined up from behind. But whatever they decide for the new season I'll probably play anyway just because it's a different challenge to the normal setup. I can see the breaks at times and make an educated guess as to what it'll do, but sometimes I look at it and can't see anything. I usually play with 3 ghosts as well which can be of assistance, either when they putt on the same line or getting the elevation change from side on gives a bit of a clue.

It's all in the overhead view. You are an arrow on that. Line up the marker to where you want to aim towards and then turn you golfer so the point of the arrow on the overhead lines up with the line. Simples. I also find clicking to show the low view easier to see the direction I'm pointing at for all shots including putting.

Sometimes the point is totally lost on some, I got fed up with TST first time around watching videos of people playing with 3 ghost balls (that play out of turn), to help them read putts. Until we can lock off arcade stuff like that the only proper sim tours are the honour system societies. At least USE will not be the only society playing partial shots in the new game and it sound like we might have a proper scrambling game this time around.Hopefully marker off can negate the marker helping with vibration assist for chips and pitches. Haven't tested it yet.

Exactly that. It does the same thing (although I'd still argue it's slightly less accurate than marker on) and more by helping with partials specifically for those who use the stupid rumble feedback that should not be. The ONLY thing the marker is good for is putting, to allow you to position the camera properly on big uphill and downhill putts where, with marker off, the camera is in a stupid position. But then again it is an eye sore and off-putting!! TST needs renaming. It's too far from what TST could be in this game and has no right being called True Sim. Should at least be Master swing and no marker.

I'd second this suggestion. Would love for the marker to be off in true sim also. I know TwoFor22 mentioned about the alignment difficulty playing without it but in my experience that goes really really quickly within a round or two; centre of the screen is your aim essentially. As Longpole, Mart and Hammersman say, removing the marker takes away much of the distance control assistance that combining marker and vibration provides.
