So -7 after 2 rounds, currently safe but not sure if it will hold. Was 3 under in rd2 until the F up on the last hole finding the water for a double. Oh well just has to sit and wait now ......

Played a couple of TST rounds last week to get a feel for it and decided to dip my toe in for the tour this week. Was I meant to register for it or something as my scores don't seem to be appearing on the leaderboard? I'm probably blind but couldn't find any info about nominating for the tour or anything similar.
Anyway, it was a great challenge. Tee to green I couldn't have hit it much better but man this putting is going to take a lot of getting used to. Finished -15 ....if my scores count (?)

Oh cool, my rocky relationship with official courses continues into this season!
Round 1 was... how should I say it? Complicated? Lacking of scoring? Boring? Not that I played terribly or anything, I found myself on the green with a birdie opportunity lots of times. The problem was: out of my FIFTEEN birdie and/or eagle opportunities, I converted on just 3. Just couldn't put some putts away, even though I sniffed the breaks out pretty well. Apart from hole 1, where I misjudged the direction entirely. Finished -2, felt like nothing's changed from one season to the next!
Round 2 was, well... more entertaining at least. Front nine was following a similar line to round 1, not much scoring but was -3 at the front. On the 12th, one mistimed grey slow well aligned with the wind made me find water... typical. Saved bogey but now I'm looking at probably not making the cut. Then something in my brain clicked. For a few holes, I was like any top Platinum level player, you take your pick on which one. Took a safe birdie on the 13th, splashed from the bunker for birdie on the 14th. Had an eagle opportunity on the 15th with a very narrow miss, before another birdie on the 16th. Had clawed my way back into the fight and for a moment, I went ahead and thought to myself "can I really do this?". The moment that thought hit my head, tee shot on 17th was not only fast but slightly underpowered -> bad bounce, into the drink -> double bogey, game over. Hell of an effort type of -4.
-6 and missed cut, which I don't mind. I shouldn't be making a cut if I need to become godlike for half a round just to make it in. That 100% made cuts for the season was fun while it lasted though, and a new experience for a scrub like me! It's fun and motivating knowing I have a legitimate shot every week through some good play and a bit of luck here and there.
Now where's that desert casino at so I can spend my weekend there before I move on to next week?

Decided to give TST a go... won't make the cut at -7. Didn't think I'd be right around the cut line though! Really found it to be fun.

Played early and got to -44 with some unusually solid putting inside of 10 feet. Once I saw that Brodie and Austin were still yet to play I tapered my expectations for the W though

Finished up at -35. Pretty average R4 till this happened… If I’d have been a bit less dogshit in R3, I could have maybe made a bit more of it all… encouraging form after such a long layoff however. Looking forward to next week.

xvshitanvx , any expert tips for reading the greens? When in doubt I do the full 360 deg view esp. to view behind the hole to confirm the read and esp. when I'm in doubt with a read. Any advice, no matter how small, would be appreciated! I can recall at least 5 or 6 putts from the 3m to 5m range which missed by a couple of ball widths and some which just rolled in the opposite direction. TPC Summerlin really had some interesting contours on the greens. Not many straightaway putts. Leaving yourself in the correct position directly under the hole certainly would have helped but I simply don't have tome to play practice rounds and make notes like I'm sure some do. My main goal is to hit a perfect first and hope to get within a 5m radius. Anyway loving the challenge! I'm happy to also receive tips. The putting has me absolutely baffled. Anything over about 8 foot for me is a guaranteed miss almost. I've watched all the video's, looked at all the angles and still just don't see it. Almost hit and hope every putt. I'm enjoying being involved in TST but it is turning into a controller chucker! (Not giving up though, I'm happy to hack through all season as I am if the worst comes to the worst) I'll add a tip too. I think if you've tried every angle, have so-so eyesight and want to continue through the season, the best thing you can do is to chart the greens for a week or two. Have the green grid and camera zoom on, hit a quick drive, and then just a quick mapping of the green - the general shape and just a few arrows - doesn't have to be so specific - quick approach, quick putt, then move to the next... it'll take you about 20 minutes for all 18 holes. I think it's worth the time investment - not every week, but just for a couple of tourneys. Everyone agrees that your eye will learn it from experience but you also need a reference to start out so it'll be easier to connect what you know already to what your eye is learning - so you can look for clues and know the answer already. You sketched a back to front green so you know if you're left of the hole you're looking for clues as to why this ball will go left to right and vice versa. But you'll know 'I have a left-to-right putt and look, the cup appears as if it's leaning a bit to my right' or 'I see from the horizon behind the hole and behind me that the land is sloping to my right', and all the clues others said. The best part of doing a map or chart is the approach shots - from far away you may not be able to see the lean of the green. With the chart/map, you'll know if there's a false front, you'll know if the green is a sneaky front-to-back that will leave you way past the hole with a nightmare lag putt. You'll be able to avoid trouble on the green with a smarter approach.
