Dear TST enthusiasts, Great to see so many of you joined us for week 1 of the season. We hope you enjoyed it. Congratulations to Brodie Howe on winning the Farmers Championship! Week 2 is the Desert Casino Cup and takes us, like IRL, to TPC Summerlin (HB official). Given that the wind gets up a bit after the first round, I have instructed the Greenskeeper to water the greens as of day 2, so that conditions don't get out of hand... Hope you'll enjoy this week's tournament and good luck, Frans PS We have noticed a few players who made the cut last week not playing all of their rounds - please be reminded that this is not only unfair to those who didn't make the cut but would have loved to have played all four rounds, but that this is also recorded and sanctioned, as explained here: tgctours.proboards.com/thread/29352/tst-season-info-announcement-rules

Congrats Brodie from one Aussie to another! So by my calculations I only have 46 strokes to improve before I'm a chance of winning a TST tourney. I'd best keep practicing then!

Must stop having a tantrum when I miss short putts making things worse. Course was ripe for getting myself under par but I screwed it. Disappointed doesnโt come close.
Desperately need to slow my play down.
Roll on next week ๐คฃ

Desperately need to slow my play down. Roll on next week ๐คฃ It does take time Ben, I have no doubt you will be getting the hang of it soon. I flipped my script this week (-3 in round 1, should have been better; -8 in round 2, tidy outward) but I doubt I will make the cut on -11 on this course with those conditions. Waiting patiently....

For someone who was at the bottom of the pile last week just finished my first round -1.
I will take that all day everyday for the moment.

Managed to throw in 2 water balls, 3 bogies and a double bogey on my way to -15 halfway. Maybe Iโm being a tad too aggressive? ๐๐๐
Edit: Round 3: -1 more water and nonsensical stuffโฆ need to slow down but finding that really difficult

-8 at the turn. Bad old play from last year came back. Let's wait thursday for the cut. Life is too short to play 2 meaningless rounds on an official course! ๐

-5 -4 = -9 after 2 rds. Probably not good enough to make the cut.
13 birdies 19 pars 4 bogies

After last weeks cut mark was -10 I was dreading this week , started off again with my customary missed 5ft putt on the 1st , then parred the next 7 , eventually found a Birdie on 9 and off I went. Played ok Tee-Green, a few dodgy Drives and Approaches, but I expect that anyway, only 3 Bogeys throughout, all my own fault, that did irritate me a bit to be honest, but I did manage 2 of my Season goals, beat Nath (Tick) and I played NOT One, but TWO Bogey Free rounds (Woo Hoo) Rd1:-12 Pars, 6 Birds, B/F = 65 (-6) Rd2:-10 Pars, 7 Birds, 1 Bogey = 65 (-6) Rd3:-8 Pars, 7 Birds, 1 Eagle, 2 Bogeys = 64 (-7) Rd4:-11 Pars, 5 Birds, 2 Eagles B/F = 62 (-9) Event:-41 Pars, 25 Birds, 3 Eagles, 3 Bogey's = 256 (-28) Will -12 cut the mustard? Who knows. Good luck all, Play Well. Oh BTW, miss 5ft putts, but make one from downtown (For Eagle maI add)

Started with a -11....nice purple patch on the back 9. Second round was littered with heaps of putts that looked like 2-3 cups of break that just didn't move at all. Took a chip in on the back 9 to break a long run of pars. Can't explain the optical illusion...maybe the mowing pattern on the green?!? Needed a good run on the back 9 after the chip in to get to -7 and -18 at the cut.

Aaaaarghhhhh! Finished Even par after 36 holes. Not enough to make the cut but still thoroughly enjoying the challenge.

xvshitanvx, any expert tips for reading the greens? When in doubt I do the full 360 deg view esp. to view behind the hole to confirm the read and esp. when I'm in doubt with a read. Any advice, no matter how small, would be appreciated! I can recall at least 5 or 6 putts from the 3m to 5m range which missed by a couple of ball widths and some which just rolled in the opposite direction. TPC Summerlin really had some interesting contours on the greens. Not many straightaway putts. Leaving yourself in the correct position directly under the hole certainly would have helped but I simply don't have tome to play practice rounds and make notes like I'm sure some do. My main goal is to hit a perfect first and hope to get within a 5m radius. Anyway loving the challenge!

-12 (with a ball in the drink on the back 9 par 5), -11 for -23 at the turn... Then, against my better judgement, decided I'd just play R3 despite being absolutely knackered.
Well... 3 stabbed 2 par 3's on the front 9 for bogey and missed a lot of chances I was taking only moments before but still was on track for -30 thru 3. Then 17, took completely the wrong club. In my mind I was hitting 1 club longer and I knocked it straight in the drink, then proceeded to 3 stab that bastard as well from not too far away at all... -25 thru 3. Will finish up tonight.
