TST moves to Pro Swing for Season 8
While we continue to prepare for Season 8 of TGC Tours and await a decision/announcement on the start date from the TGC Tours Commish, we can already share some news with you regarding the True Sim Tour (TST):
• TST will move to Pro Swing
• All other settings will remain the same as in previous seasons
• TST Season 8 will have the same start date as the Main Tours
Like the Main Tours, we feel that moving to Pro Swing will reduce cross-platform disparity and thus bring us closer to a competitive balance. We are also hopeful that this will increase TST participation across all platforms. The latter also benefits from having the same swing difficulty as the Main Tours. This will make it easier for people to give TST a try, while still providing a different feel and challenge based on the absence of assists such as scout camera and green grids. Our goal is to provide something different and fun, not necessarily something that is (extremely) difficult for the sake of being difficult. Simultaneously, moving to Pro Swing might very well allow us to use combinations of courses and conditions that we would not dare use with Master Swing, thus giving us more options and diversity in scheduling.
We realize and understand that this decision will be welcomed by some and a disappointment to others. However, we feel it is the right decision for TST for Season 8 and hope it will result in lots of people, from all platforms, enjoying the challenge that TST provides.
