There won’t be wgr.. but you don’t want wgr anyway since pro players would end up higher… You want to be ranked against people with the same difficulty.. So they are completely getting rid of WGR? for beer league.. you don't want a wgr that compares you to pro tour players... so makes no sense to use it in beer league. But beer league has a ranking system of its own.. that compares you to other beer league players.

Still here… 😎😎😎
Oh wait, not that time yet. 😂
Seriously though, maybe we should stop discussing what seems to be a done deal? It’s gonna be pro - so much is clear. Not my and my single polling point’s preferred option, for sure, because tempo was all we had going for us, despite not making use of any of that edgy nonsense. Given that we cannot putt, we’ll be in trouble. BUT, I’ll still give it my best and will enjoy trying to get better at what is basically a completely different challenge. It’ll be like the old days when I played Links and you had to get a lot under par to be competitive. Was able to get into that then and hope I’ll be able to now.
Basically, what I’m saying, let’s get the new season started asap and try to have some fun.
Best wishes Frans

I didn't vote because of the rules. I was on Platinum or the equivalent from very late in season 1 until the latter part of this past season (7). So I have seen how the top tour has gone over the years for a lot of its history. Admin is wanting to automate the process of how the tours run. Please understand that. In the past having different swing difficulty, etc. among the main tours didn't work. Your current choice is to play Pro on the main tours or not. You may not like this, but it is how it will go. To me, the results of this poll will help shape how the re-imagined Beer League will go at best. You may have the best intentions, but I don't think you are going to change how Admin runs its site among 1500+ members. They are dedicated to Platinum to CC-L at playing at one swing difficulty. So, sorry to be that guy, but deal with it. I understand but to me the change was directed at a minority of people (Xbox users) With all respect, this change is 100% directed at the majority; you just aren't recognising that you are in the minority. The title of the thread alone makes that clear.

b101 all I am recognizing is what the OP said and I’ll quote “ Pro Swing The main goal of TGC Tours is to provide cross platform competition. I don’t feel the Master swing, as it sits now after the recent changes, is a fair swing across the 3 consoles we support. In the spirit of competition we’ll be moving our main tours to Pro swing which will bring us closer to a competitive balance. I realize the scores will be a bit bonkers but that is not a major concern.” When did Xbox become the majority? Listen I’m not trying to cause rift but I’m entitled to my own opinion and should have the ability to voice them. Do I understand the reason why this change will happen? Yes. Do I agree with it? No. Will I support it? Yes I’m time. But till then I just wanted to state the obvious that was quoted by Doyley. On top of that the point of my poll was to get a sample size of preferred swing and as you can see in the poll I am in the majority. I know we live in a time and place where the minority voices their concerns and rightfully so but we lose focus on the majority. You and others think this is best for the whole and maybe you are right. But assuming it is is wrong. The main problem isn’t which swing we should go with. Every time we have some issue or a suggestion or a possible solution we (the community) the community where a lot of people have left l, have left because the problem doesn’t get fixed. This is a band aid approach like others. At least until the new game comes out. I wish I knew how to help. I wish I could code. I can learn though. I can contribute and already do. I have friends that are coders can I ask if they can possibly help with our problem? By the way that’s the problem unfortunately easy fix is to separate the master swing folks and keep their WGR but due to system requirements or manpower that’s not possible. Anyway sorry to ramble but feels like us that voice our opinion are getting attacked in other posts. Sorry for voicing my opinion. That is all it is.

I get what your saying but the only people who really follow the lobbys are people playing. There are loads of quality players that used to contribute weekly to the tour and the forums and because of masters swing they dont play tgct. They still knock around in the other societies tho and still play golf but the masters swing has always been broken i said it a week after release. Those that think its skill. Give it a rest Its just about fudging the calibration and hey presto. Even the putting. Ive seen so many streams that as long as your in the ball park you will hit exact %. On the other platforms you can hit say you going for 38%. 36,37,39,40 all are white perfects but all play very different. I play masters with pro swing which is what the tour will be id of thought and its not at all -22 a round like everyone thinks it will be. Just gotta see what happens. I think it'll be a lot more competitive across the board and the players will come back in their droves. I read someone said that the ps4 pad works on ps5 the same. No it doesnt cos you can only use it wireless unless you plug it in with a 3rd party adapter. I find it really laggy and hard to hit any sort of tempo! The dualsense is also a lot more sensitive and shanking a putt isnt a rarity. I used to be on forums a lot and put alot of hours in to tgc but the last 12 months i literally do tgct and maybe 2 other rounds a week. Since the announcement yesterday i was on it most the day with the lads. This game is great but the best settings were always masters with pro. It is easier im not denying that but you can still have a mare! And youve still gotta get the ball in the hole.

I’m still not understanding why wgr matters? How can you do that with mixed abilities? The only way that’s fair is if you let people play pro or masters in the same tour.
Otherwise you want a wgr for pro and a wgr for masters…. And you’ll get that. The current wgr stays with pro and a new ranking system starts with masters.

As it stands now not much of anything is known other than some back and forth on posts how WGR will come into play. I totally see your point and I’m still trying to process the info. Guess I’m probably sounding confusing so I’ll try my best to ask what I need answered. New season, will WGR on the homepage reflect the tour I am in or only pro tours? (That’s assuming im in masters aka beer league) If it’s only pro tours then we should have the ability to compete in both like True Sim.

I could be wrong but from what I can tell, it looks like when you join Beer league your WGR becomes 0...so if you were rank 54 or whatever before, you are removed as far as having a ranking on the main tours. You would just have a Beer league ranking only I guess. What I am unclear on though, is what goes on with your ranking if you rejoin the main tour at a later date. I understand that your old WGR would naturally just fall, the same as if you just didn’t play any events for a period of time. But are you points still being kept track of?Using myself as an example, I am 10. Say I join Beer league. I know that I am no longer shown on the WGR as my ranking becomes 0. Three months from now, I decide to opt back in. Would my ranking start totally from the bottom again, like I was a brand new player, or would I return and be something like 40th, or whatever. I doubt I’ll join Beer League, but just trying to gather info.

I know it won’t happen, but my suggestion would be to turn Beer League into Legend Tour. Legend swing being only difference to current settings. Allow everyone to play without having to opt out, so it gets a lot more participation. I think that’s the only way it becomes interesting at all. I predict master beer league being a total flop as it stands, just my opinion.

I can answer that question as I did the Platinum to Beer League move for a couple of weeks when I was seeking to regain the fun playing the game. I was out for a couple of weeks and my WGR returned to what it was when I requalified

We think you hold your current ranking, but when you join back up it counts the missing weeks as not played… could be wrong though.

I agree with this (part where you can play both main tours and beer league) especially after we made the main tours an easier swing - but requires coding so at this point I don't want to get anyone's hopes up. That said, I will push for it and we'll see where it goes - especially if the Beer League is lacking members as most are predicting.

Perhaps if people would have been allowed to play this game their way with fast swings, slow swings, etc, and not have been made to play the game the way some of the community wanted them to play the game, none of this would be an issue. Just imagine if every time you bought a game, someone else told you, you had to play the game their way, like Madden, "you run too much. That's an exploit" MLB The Show, "you steal too many times. That's an exploit." Hey, here's an idea, if I'm not cheating, like using a modded controller or scripts, than leave me alone. This community brought this on and it's a shame. Just stay in your lane and not worry how everyone else in playing the game. All the crying and complaining about "the game wasn't meant to be played that way." You should play the game anyway it allows you to...PERIOD.

I totally understand that it isn't for everyone, but the Legendary swing event going on PC right now was very fun (despite the fact that I shot +4). I truly think that those should be our settings - with this being the top tour on the game. Not everyone's preference clearly, but it is so difficult that the best players would certainly rise to the top, and it would undoubtedly feel more like real golf. Pro may be fun too, though. I'll happily give it a chance!
