Will this have societies? Societies was a HB thing, but there could be some kind of equivalent?!? It's all speculation as of now.

That trailer means absolutely nothing regarding the game, not sure how you can think otherwise. That ain't gameplay footage. Agreed. That is cut scene coverage. Gameplay may still be better than PGA2K23 graphically given that it is current gen only, but actual gameplay is what I want to see.

TGC1's tours were superior to Societies, IMO.

Coming back to this for a brief thought.
Surely, EA making their new game current gen console only (PS5 or XB X/S) will force 2K/HB to upgrade their engine to make a new game for that same market, no? 2K can't rest on their laurels and give us a game still available on PS4/XB1 3-4 years or so after the newest consoles launched, right? PC/Steam should be the easiest market to upgrade to as they mostly have the best hardware to play the game.

I would like to see a steam release with a new engine.they can then patch it to the hilt over 12 months and release a perfect PGATOUR2K25 to current gen platforms. Or may be next-gen platforms by then, PS6 etc.

Be an even newer gen by next release , probably 2k25 so doubt ps4 will be playable on it. 2k know there are many ps4 users so cater for them. Or should I say have catered.

Hope they bring out a superb game. HB have really messed up with 2k23 and I hope EA lights a fire under their asses.

I might be in the minority but I think 23 is much better than 21. They still have quite a ways to go but game play wise it is very good. I don't know why they eliminated the ability to see other courses created by user or why you can't see who created a course if it was done on a different platform. EA hasn't made a decent golf game in what 7 years? But this one is gonna be teets huh? Well maybe maybe not. Most we get is 20 courses off the bat then paid DLC maybe 5 bucks a course? All we've seen is a game play player so far but it is still early. I watched Apex Hound on YT do a frame by frame of Spieth. Did not look all that good. I hope the game plays at least as good as PGA 2k23. Not holding out for a course creator though.

Not holding out for a course creator though. EA/TW had a wonderful designer that went all the way back to the old PGA99 days. It was very intuitive and had a terrific interface. They should just take it out and dust it off for their new game. I foget the studio that made it, but it was terrific. Could be an issue for cross play with consoles and what not but...

EA's game will also be on PC, just an FYI. www.polygon.com/23398692/ea-sports-pga-tour-trailer-ps5-xbox-series-x-pc

My take on the 2K/HB business plan is they’re already a ways into developing golf on a new generation Nine engine & the minor upgrade of a game we all just paid top dollar for is funding the payroll for the next 1-2 years. There is definitely not 2 years development in PGA 2K23 & my guess is they had a small team kept busy repackaging 2K21 for the gullible golf gamer whilst the bulk of staff have been busy rendering 4K blades of grass & ensuring there are 348 high fidelity dimples on the golf balls. The constant cash collection through balls & clubhouse passes are all telling signs that they are funding a bigger picture, especially with Tiger signed for 10 years. Generation 10 will probably arrive around 2026 so that new engine is imminent IMO.
