Not one of the people I follow on Youtube have mentioned there has been a changed. That is the odd thing. Respawn who is one of the top golfers in this game (top 5? I believe) said the only way he heard of this was from people asking him. He said he has noticed zero difference and does everything exactly the same as before with the same results. He does everything mathematically and the vibration crutch and it is frustrating as it takes SO LONG. Don't know what to say. The very good golfers see nothing changed. I go by feel and I have seen no change but I was PRO up to last week. Don't know what to say. Top 5? 🤔 Ok. Top 80. LOL. I was rounding to the closest 5

Just now getting home to play some practice rounds and I am seeing the same thing everyone else is with regards to the slower putting animation. I had been under the assumption that it was a server side "tweak" on HB's end. But I was playing offline with the ethernet cable unplugged, so.... How could this still be a thing without an update? Don't want to get all tin foil hat, but was it perhaps timed to kick in at a certain time and date with the latest update?
Anyways, there's probably a logical explanation for why I saw the same results while offline and without a game update. I'll get to practicing the new putting mechanics.
The key is, without an update, there is no way mechanics can change in offline mode. It's in your head. (I have similar experiences - lie in the morning I can hit p/p without effort and by evening cannot)

(I have similar experiences - lie in the morning I can hit p/p without effort and by evening cannot) I was online when I booted up the game, but pulled the connection to play. Had to have happened when I booted the game up Connected to the Internet. The game absolutely has been different in the last 12 days or so. One can physically see the larger white perfect and grey areas in the feedback area. Master it is a subtle difference, but look on Pro. The difference is very large. Anyone that doesn't use haptic feedback or pulls back the putter slowly Instantly noticed the putting difference. Edit: This isn't the first time HB has made server side mechanical changes to one of their golf games, either.

They made server changes. It’s not a debate. We’ve seen it in the past. They even said so in the past.

Once I re-enabled it, I noticed the change immediately. Wow. I mean, Ugh. I had convinced myself I'd really improved my game the last 2 weeks. What a steaming pile.

You guys have just convinced me to try something that I heretofore have had no reason to try. I leave haptic feedback on for the benefit of the ball striking impact effects, not for the backswing length vibration feedback that it also provides. I honestly find the backswing vibration ticks annoying, as I tend to overpower the shot be it a normal shot, pitch, splash, flow, chip, or putt, when I think about using it. I love the impact effects as they tell me something about the quality of the strike, plus it adds a tactile dimension that makes the game feel more visceral. Now I'm going to have to try just turning it off and see how it compares in terms of putting feel, in particular. I wish they would break down the haptic feedback to where you could had the option to use it as it's currently delivered, or have an option to enable it for ball striking effects only... that'd be the way I'd roll!

The difference between Pro at release and Pro now: Wow! Veddy interesting... thanks for posting that!! I’ve not noticed that on Xbox, only when I change to a driver or irons with more forgiveness.

Can you show your meter when you choose driver on Pro? I most definitely see a difference. My FIR% and GIR% have also jumped noticeably the last two weeks.

I switched to the gold-plated driver and the shot feedback gauge is what I'd expect. So, maybe, when I had switched drivers earlier, I grabbed one with more forgiveness? (Since I play with shot feedback off, I guess I hadn't noticed.) If so, I withdraw my complaint.

Yeah selecting a driver with more forgiveness will make that area wider, I notice it with my irons as they have quite high forgiveness except for the three iron so flicking between 3 and 4 iron I see that area change

I'd say it's the forgiveness. I haven't changed my clubs since early on when I figured out my bag and distance gapping. I haven't noticed any difference in the size of the perfect and grey windows however I have noticed those areas easier to hit. Maybe they changed something or maybe I've just gotten better at timing it. I have found a nice rhythm to my swing in the last couple of weeks.
