I can only imagine people who trumpet their "achievements" all the time (inheriting something, wow,) must do so because they NEED that validation. I'm comfortable with what I've done, and who I've helped, in my life. Don't need anonymous people to know what those things are. People who talk about money all the time usually know the price of everything and the value of nothing... I love when you talk about me in a passive aggressive way. Inherited. I was forced to run it and I support my parents. Look up 2nd generation business success rates.I know you love looking at other people's hard work online. I could care less what people on some stupid forum think about me. If I agreed with your progressive libtard view I would be your boyfriend. Lmao. .. about money. I've lurked there on occasion. Not much going on but just signed up for the hell of it. BTW...whatever happened to Paulus, thats his board isn't it, just never see him around here anymore. I was wondering the same thing. One of the better debaters on the forum and always kept it pretty civil. Actually learned some things from the Paulus. On topic. My wife got a memo on how to make her own mask. One line said " using pretty material is a good idea" or something like that. Her response was they do not care if a nurse puts a pillow case over their heads. Unless they are half dead they are working. Bottom line she probably has it by now. Just waiting to see if she get symptoms or I do. Business wise we are hanging in there. Really uncharted territory here. No clue what will happen. I do not want to get political but I hear all this talk about how you should listen to experts only. Then I see AOC on CNN......like we need open borders and like we need free everything like totally. I saw a local media report (omg..., No!!! lol) that the Girl Scouts in this area were making masks. Their cookie sales got put on hold so they moved towards that effort. Check your local troops and see if they are doing so in your area. |

Sounds a bit like the UK "lock down" that isn't really a lock down. For starters nobody will even take our PM seriously as he was elected as a clown. Our Premier got elected on a platform of lowering the minimum price of beer from $1.25 a bottle to $1.00 a bottle, despite the fact that no brewers were selling beer for $1.25 because they'd lose money on it at that price. That was pretty much the one and only thing he promised he would do if elected. At the very least we can say we have a provincial leader who followed through on every promise he made while campaigning. Needless to say, beer and liquor stores were near the top of the list of essential businesses that will be staying open. Cannabis is still open here but delivery only. Before recreational became legal here, people who used it for medical needed to register for a card and so forth. But the rec mas made those cards unnecessary, no one really has them anymore. So the cannabis stores stay open for them. I, for one, am glad since I do use an edible for pain management. |

It's the Chinese virus btw. It is the coronavirus. Or covid-19. By calling it the chinese virus (flu), it can breed hate, and stereotyping. Xenophobia is already rampant in the world so it would be best to not call it that. H1n1 was never called the American flu. So why the label this time? I have a feeling that you don't care, but stop pushing the phrase. |

The infection rate in China is .005 ish percent.... nowhere close to 20%. If we’re going off of China’s numbers, we might see a .1% infection rate...that would lead to roughly 32k deaths. this is what I mean when I say you should dig into the numbers yourself....don’t rely on what the media is reporting All due respect Dan, but you can't just look at numbers and make a conclusion. Dig into them all you want, but there is way more to it. China's infection rate is because of their response. We are way behind, that's well documented. So yes dig into the numbers, but you can't just look at the numbers and say, "they are this low in China, so they're going to be this low elsewhere". What you have to do is look at the numbers and ask... why? China quarantined half their population. They literally shut down and closed off affected areas. That is what states are trying to do now. But without a federal backing it could set us further behind. China is .005%... Italy is looking to be around .1%.. that was the number I went with... I never said I expected it to be .005%, I put it with a country that had a similar response to ours. |

Some kind of foresight would have saved lives. And that was a strain of influenza. We already had almost 100 years of research on it. And still let it spread. And still, nobody called it the "US Pig Flu" or the "AmeriFlu", or anything like that. The US was responsible for a pandemic, and was never labeled. I hope someone from outside America will comment on this because I am curious now. And for the record (not that it should matter, but it apparently means something) I voted for Bush, Obama, Hillary, and am not for Biden or Bernie or Trump. I'd rather be labeled as an educated independent. |
