I would never suggest to treat any politician as an expert on cornavirus, unless they had some specific experience pertaining to that.
Some people have more expertise and knowledge on how to handle a crisis like this than others. Or the humility to follow advice. Not many people I respect believe trump to be a particular humble man...
I would personally feel AOC has more intelligence/knowledge/integrity/lack of having sexually assaulted people, than trump, but that's obviously an opinion 40-50% of Americans would probably disagree with.
Couldn't find anything about her saying "open borders," happy to be proved wrong.
"Free everything" is what EVERYONE is suggesting, to some degree or another. Not exactly a specific term, but everyone, companies and individuals will be getting handouts, as they should...

- Older people would rather die than let Covid-19 harm US economy – Texas official Lieutenant governor Dan Patrick tells Fox News: ‘Do we have to shut down the entire country for this? I think we can get back to work’- Patrick said he feared that public health restrictions to prevent coronavirus could end American life as he knows it, and that he is willing to risk death to protect the economy for his grandchildren. “You know, Tucker, no one reached out to me and said, ‘As a senior citizen, are you willing to take a chance on your survival in exchange for keeping the America that all America loves for your children and grandchildren?’” Patrick said. “And if that’s the exchange, I’m all in.” “That doesn’t make me noble or brave or anything like that,” he added. “I just think there are lots of grandparents out there in this country like me.” Jesus Christ 🙄 That really IS N Korea type stuff! Isn't it "patriotic" to want to save American lives?? This also made me remember the movie "SOYLENT GREEN" This is the year 2022. Overcrowding, pollution, and resource depletion have reduced society's leaders to finding food for the teeming masses. The answer is Soylent Green - an artificial nourishment whose actual ingredients are not known by the public.

Capitalists are by far the most extreme ideologues on the planet. Hey Joe. I got some bat soup I can sell you. At a discount of course. The demand is low but supply is high.

There are people in this thread who literally WANT it to be locked; because their arguments are paper thin...
Hypocrisy ("don't be political") and juvenile insults are their game. Best to ignore...

Full price for you!
You are such a grown up. I bet you have many responsibilities and are doing whatever you can to help stop the spread of this. Yeah no.

Turns out the Ontario "shut down" was little more than a joke. They released their list of essential businesses which was 80 items long and just had general descriptions of the types of businesses that can stay open. Basically any business that hasn't already shut down can manipulate the wording to make it apply to them, if the owner decides they want to stay open.
In my case I work at a company(Proctor & Gamble) that has very essential products that need to get out to stores. However the department I work in has nothing to do with getting stuff onto store shelves so we're very much non-essential but since we work in a building with deemed essential work it'll be business as usual in our department. What makes it worse is at least 75% of the people I work with are in their 50's and 60's with who knows what health history and it's nearly impossible to have any distance between you and the people working with you. But since they're a huge, faceless corporation that cares about their employees health they've apparently gone out and purchased the equipment so they can check everyone's temperature at the start of every shift.

Sounds a bit like the UK "lock down" that isn't really a lock down. For starters nobody will even take our PM seriously as he was elected as a clown.

Sounds a bit like the UK "lock down" that isn't really a lock down. For starters nobody will even take our PM seriously as he was elected as a clown. Our Premier got elected on a platform of lowering the minimum price of beer from $1.25 a bottle to $1.00 a bottle, despite the fact that no brewers were selling beer for $1.25 because they'd lose money on it at that price. That was pretty much the one and only thing he promised he would do if elected. At the very least we can say we have a provincial leader who followed through on every promise he made while campaigning. Needless to say, beer and liquor stores were near the top of the list of essential businesses that will be staying open.

I can only imagine people who trumpet their "achievements" all the time (inheriting something, wow,) must do so because they NEED that validation.
I'm comfortable with what I've done, and who I've helped, in my life. Don't need anonymous people to know what those things are.
People who talk about money all the time usually know the price of everything and the value of nothing...

I was forced to run it and I support my parents. Look up 2nd generation business success rates.I know you love looking at other people's hard work online. I could care less what people on some stupid forum think about me. If I agreed with your progressive libtard view I would be your boyfriend. Lmao. .. about money. I know the price of of you and you have zero value.

"But early projections for the toll of coronavirus in the United States suggest it could lead to hundreds of thousands of deaths, even at the lowest end of ranges of estimates. While the figures for the mortality rate of coronavirus continues to evolve, recent research from Wuhan, China, the city where the outbreak began, indicates the mortality rate there was around 1.4%. Experts at Harvard University have projected an infection rate in the US of between 20% and 60%, meaning that while it is impossible to reliably estimate the American coronavirus death toll, a reasonable scenario might result in hundreds of thousands of lives lost." An infection rate of 20% and a mortality rate of 1% (both right at the bottom end of the range) would lead to 600k deaths. 37k die of flu on average in America each year. People need to start waking up to the numbers... And with trump pushing hard for a quick reopening of the economy, who knows what could happen... The infection rate in China is .005 ish percent.... nowhere close to 20%. If we’re going off of China’s numbers, we might see a .1% infection rate...that would lead to roughly 32k deaths. this is what I mean when I say you should dig into the numbers yourself....don’t rely on what the media is reporting All due respect Dan, but you can't just look at numbers and make a conclusion. Dig into them all you want, but there is way more to it. China's infection rate is because of their response. We are way behind, that's well documented. So yes dig into the numbers, but you can't just look at the numbers and say, "they are this low in China, so they're going to be this low elsewhere". What you have to do is look at the numbers and ask... why? China quarantined half their population. They literally shut down and closed off affected areas. That is what states are trying to do now. But without a federal backing it could set us further behind.
