lol no... but it takes time to see if this is a persistant pattern I think I'd rather be proactive on it and try to see around the corner a bit than reactive. Maybe try to see if the vaccine that's being worked on can also prevent that.

Our store begun stopping 18 years old and under coming in this morning. I had already stopped one lad anyway. Stopped another who didn't appear to understand why at all so I explained it to him,he tried again one hour later and is now barred. I then stopped two sixteen year old girls, again they seemed clueless, one saying "are you joking?"
I told the idiot she might carry what could be a fatal virus, if not for her then for people she came into contact with, including her family when she gets home, and she went off in a huff. This is the level of sheer stupidity.

Ontario will be shutting down all non-essential businesses effective Wednesday. They will be releasing the list tomorrow of what they consider essential so at the moment I'm assuming tomorrow will be my last day of work until who knows when. Time to get some of that sweet 'free' government money, I guess.

It's right though. In the big cities people are being told it's fine to go to work but not fine to use public transport. Which are two totally incompatible things.
Half measures don't work. We either stay home, or we let it spread. That's the choice.

Just have to look at NYC right now to see what can happen when it gets loose in a big city.

Not to stir up the political debate again... but Trump tweeted:
"WE CANNOT LET THE CURE BE WORSE THAN THE PROBLEM ITSELF,"
It's going to be interesting to see if he gives in or he wants to send people back out while the states keep everybody in.... the old fed vs state debate.
Also just throwing these comments out there:
"We can't shut in the economy. The economic cost to individuals is just too great," National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow "The president is right: The cure can't be worse than the disease, and we're going to have to make some difficult trade-offs," Kudlow said, adding that he "spoke to the president about this very subject" late Sunday evening.
"I think it is soon becoming time to have old and/or sick people take every precaution and healthy people go back to work forever changed [with] new habits in a grimmer reality," tweeted Matt Schlapp, the chairman of the American Conservative Union.
"A global recession would be worse for our people than the Great Depression. Doctors provide medical treatment and cures—they should not be the determinative voices in policy making now or at the end of 15 days," Laura Ingraham (FOX news... ugh,... I hardly even want to put that one in there)
Lloyd Blankfein, the former CEO of Goldman Sachs, also asserted that while "extreme measures to flatten the virus 'curve'" were reasonable to "stretch out the strain" on health care systems, "crushing the economy, jobs and morale is also a health issue-and beyond."
In either sense.. this is going to tear the world apart.. people seem to be in one of two boats, pro shutdown or pro economy. I'll be curious to see how this plays out (from a policy standpoint)

Hard pass on him. American conservative union, pass. Goldman Sachs, wonder what their priorities are. Hard pass. Fox news, hard pass. Yep, there's definitely two camps on this. Just wonder what all of these people were saying about the economy during the financial crash...

Waiting for another Joe link to Americans doing something he finds amusing. Total troll.
Wife says doctors and nurses working sick no matter what.
Essential business like mine will stay open.
Hopefully this makes people come together and realize how important basic needs are.
Well unless your a total clown and believe in people who have zero experience in anything. Like the government.
Private sector is what solves problems. Not staying at home in your safe space. The young and healthy should be out there doing whatever they can.
Then again why bother. Can't even reproduce which is the easiest thing to do but can't handle the responsibility

This is the brother of a Facebook acquaintance of mine (former co-worker of a personal close friend):"I thought it was time I ask for your prayers. My brother John(Bro. John Sebastian) from Washington DC, informed us several months ago he had a form of cancer called AML. Last week he went to not feeling good to his last text to me telling me they were taking him to the ICU and LUB(love you big) He has been diagnosed with the COVID19 (on top of the Cancer) and is now on Ventilator & Feeding tube and heavily sedated.
We were informed that we cannot be at his bedside, not even in the Hosp. So IF he passes away none of his family will be able to be near him. I am grateful the Nurses and Docs will be there but not the same as family.
During my life he has been a parent at times, my best friend, my mentor and my Big Brother. I always hung onto the words and his actions. Given all of that, to him I was his hero for all that I had been through in my life and a little sister he was still trying to give everything to. He is an amazing Brother and Human being.
For the folks that don’t know he was a Brother at the Franciscan Monastery and that he gave of himself 24/7 to give to people even in times of his own illness’s. Hundreds of people. Time we give back in return.
Tears flow every day from my cheek, most days I wake and this can’t be real. I pray, and I am asking for your prayers and to pray just as hard. Pray anyway you want, or whatever you believe in. Perhaps all this will help him out of this. I know whatever is Gods will. Maybe his will we all pray. But I want my brother back. I want him to live.
Asking for your prayers and thoughts, light a candle.
You have my gratitude. Peace, His Sister. "
This was less than 24 hours later from another person reporting in:
"Friends (This is *****)...this morning at 2:14 am *****’s protector, her sweet brother John Sebastian, went to heaven on all your loving prayers. Thank you for the wonderful send off. Please keep the family in your continued thoughts."

Totally impressed with Andrew Cuomo's leadership through this. More Presidential than the President. He is taking responsibility for the safety of New Yorkers. He understands the situation and the challenges. He has been straight with the people, no lies. No bullsht. The Cuomo's are good people.

"You are not the only person in the world."
Hope everyone is remembering that.
Being a 25-year-old self employed person with 40 hours a week dedicated to the PGA Tour and another 15 or so to sports writing on various U.S. sports, my income has dwindled to the occasional NFL Draft story for however long this lasts. Definitely unfortunate so hopefully the government can work together for once and make something happen soon.
My wedding was also supposed to be this Saturday but it's been postponed along with my honeymoon obviously.
Yet for someone whose income has essentially gone to nothing and had a wedding and honeymoon postponed, it sure does feel like I'm still being more level-headed about it than some Americans who're hardly impacted but mad they can't go to Sunday lunch or a baseball game in a few weeks. It's my typical reminder of how incredibly selfish people can be. You have governors saying old people would rather die than kill the economy. Frightening how brainwashed many are.

That was tough to read Bob. All the best to his family and hopefully there will be some light for him. I had my own experience today with the ER. To Bob's post, my wife was not allowed to stay with me either. Security actually escorted her out. Without getting into details, I can report that coughing up blood is not a symptom for Covid-19. Also that bronchitis and COPD do not mix. I am back home and resting. They are saving their beds in case they need them for Covids. I just need to prevent this from becoming pneumonia. I'm sure I'll be fine I discussed the issues the hospital staff were facing with them and I can share that tomorrow. I'm a bit worn out at the moment. Take care peeps, and don't listen to Trump. Stay tuned in to the real medical professionals.
