2. Ibex International
As the Leaping Goat Classic draws to a close (the final leaderboard will be posted here in the morning) our intrepid group are hopefully ready to take on the beautiful and exciting course that is Whiterun. The designer's (Joe Connors) goal for this course was to make every hole unique and the entire round interesting both off the tee and visually. He really worked on immersion on this track and is happy with how it turned out despite some lighting issues. With 3 sets of tees and a few potential drive-able 4's, there's some good replay value. Who will emerge victorious and claim the Ibex International trophy? We'll know in about seven days' time...

Just wondering if the ACE I just had on the 7th hole at Whiterun in Round 3 was the first we've had on the Old Goats World Tour?!

Oh yes Charles, I did!!
Anyway, it seems we're going to have a different winner this week in the Ibex International at Whiterun - we just don't know exactly who it's going to be yet!! The final leaderboard will be posted here on Monday morning. Meanwhile...
3. The Capra Hircus Open We will be visiting the Los Angeles Country Club for next week's tourney. The North Course was recently host to the 2017 Walker Cup and will host the U.S. Open in 2023. The course was originally laid out by Herbert Fowler in 1919, but was completely redesigned by George Thomas and Billy Bell in 1927. It underwent a successful restoration by Gil Hanse and Geoff Shackelford in 2010 and is laid across a hilly piece of property that features a sandy barranca cutting right across it. I believe the course record currently stands at 61 by PGA Tour professional Max Homa. If you enjoy playing here and you would like to become a member - think twice, because the 'initiation' fee is $185,000!!!
Oh, and 'Capra Hircus' is Latin for 'domestic goat'...

Many congrats to bob5453 for his win at Whiterun!! A steady performance over the four rounds was rewarded with a 7-stroke winning margin. Whiterun proved to be tougher than I thought it would be - but I'd forgotten about all those very long par 4's!!
Now who will be the 'head honcho' (or should that be 'head goat') at the Los Angeles Country Club this week...?!

Very well played bob5453 excellent score considering you have a handicap of +19.2 and playing a tough course, again well done. Thanks to all that took part, and a big thanks to deputygoat (Bobfletcher) for the work he is putting into the tour, testing courses etc to make sure they are upto standard for tour without any glitches. Good luck to you all this week in The CAPRA HIRCUS OPEN at Los Angeles GC.

I was only playing 4 rounds a week in TGCT Challenge E circuit, so I think playing 8 rounds the last 2 weeks has helped me be a little more consistent.

Played my 4 rounds, really struggled I could not reach some of the par 4s in 2 and had to rely on my scrambling ability, this unfortunately let me down lol, lots of fasts and slows, Pulled the rest of my hair out LOL ...

Well, The Old Goats Golf Club is shaping up nicely. Good field and some excellent players! Amazing scores with those 'heavy' handicaps. Congrats! On another note, i was wondering about the tournament set up. Is it possible to put in the crowds when playing courses with grandstands etc? I dont mind playing 'empty' courses ofcourse but i was just thinking it would be nice to have some crowds & cheers once in a while, especially when some courses have been set up for realistic tournament play with all these camera towers etc. I hope we will play more real courses, especially with lidar measurements. Keep up the great work fella's and thanks for setting it all up!

I'm pretty certain you can't 'insert' crowds into a course - they are down to the designer deciding if he wanted to include them when he produced the course. Maybe if we played better and more exciting golf the grandstands might suddenly fill up!! LOL
The World Tour courses will be a mix of real and fictional courses and they have been hand-picked from all over the globe, this being a 'world' tour.
It's almost time for everyone to pack their suitcases because after spending this week in California, at the weekend we travel to Alaska for the next event!!

Playing with crowds is not up to the course designer to decide. As far as i can see the course designer can make a 'tournament' version of a course, meaning he will put grandstands and camera towers on the course, but these are empty when playing solo or multiplay with friends. When playing the same courses in the in-game PGA season these grandstands are full of crowds and people are ligning up along the fairways and around the greens. Also, i played in a society some time ago (i cant remember which one) and there too there were crowds on the course. So it must be something in the set up which the society admin can activate.

Hi Charles ive just looked through all the settings for society tournaments and there is no option for crowds etc. The only thing that might bring the crowds is when you select championship, final or Major, we shall see when we set one. If anyone knows any other way please let us know.
