Ok I played this for the 1st time with very high winds, very fast and very firm greens. Shot a +2, was expecting a round in the 80s from reading the comments on how tough and unfair the course is. Is it tough? yes, Is it unfair? No frickin way, The fairways are wide enough for a course that is supposed to be tough. You have to know when to lay off the driver. I'm sure the more experienced players will break par in any conditions, probably not -20 but still break par. So tottenhamordie I think you just had a bad round and decided to take out your frustrations on the course and the designer. Next time I suggest you step back, breath in and out a few times, then roll a big fat one and forget about the round I do have one big complaint, the clubhouse was not stocked with any whiskey or Bourbon. I was shocked, the only drinks they offered is Rum and Cherry Coke Hmmm VctryLnSprts ... had to settle for a glass of milk and cookies Great course, I gave it 5 stars and last I checked it was at 4.5 with 1178 plays....... I played 2 rounds, the second round had less wind but played similar to the first. I laid off driver on at least 7 holes in the 2nd round as I learned from the first, most resulting in 250 yard shots to the green on par 4s. And idk what course I'm seeing then, search shows two versions, normal and tour. Both have less than 200 plays and 0 stars. Maybe mine is glitched? Other courses are still showing stars so idk. It is nice to see some people can reply in a decent manor, instead of getting defensive right off the bat. And ya maybe I need to roll a fat one hahahahaha and watch my play go the opposite direction. This time i just wont care though 😂

Hate to play devil's advocate, but I'm not a fan of the way little pot-style bunkers were used in nearly every fairway to pinch the landing area. I get that you're going for difficulty but having the same 'risky driver or 2w to avoid the bunker' dilemma on repeat gets old quickly. It's a beautiful-looking course with nice greens, but I wonder if you could've found some other ways to toughen it up. Variety is the spice of life, and having those little bunkers there hole after hole with what appears to be little reward for hitting driver imho detracts from how nice many of the hole designs otherwise are.
EDIT: Perhaps these are only in the 'tour' version as an easy way to make the course more difficult? I have not played the 'non-tour' version.

I would try making the fairways just a touch wider but also laying them in places that create tougher approach angles into some of the harder hole locations. Theoretically this would add more reward for those who do successfully execute the risky shot, while at the same time it might 'punish' the safe play without making it so obvious to the player that they made the 'safe play' by clubbing down. just my .02c Cheers aerialatom. This is definitely feedback I can work with and will endeavour to do so. I understand your point with the pot bunkers and agree they can feel forced and even overkill. Consider myself a very inexperienced designer and always looking for ways to improve.

No problem! I'm very inexperienced myself, basically in the same shoes as you.

I have been interacting with a few of you on twitch streams, as I recognize some of the names. I have been polite, well mannered, and had no issues with anyone. One forum post and now THIS will be what I'm labeled for? Seems fair to me. This is it, so go ahead and make your personal attacks and try to keep this going. I'm done trying to explain myself to a bunch of cry babies who can't take ONE negative comment in a sea of positive ones. No matter how it was put, interpret it how you want, doesn't affect me at all. So enjoy the forum, enjoy the game, and enjoy each other's farts. Bye. Multiple forum posts and creepy PM spamming...

Finally played. Pin 4 with very fast, very firm, very firm. Didn't spot anything unfair. Shot -1 and felt like it should have been -4 if I wasn't sloppy. My off the cuff ramblings:
#3: Nice pin position on this short par 3. Landed it just left of the pin and it rolled way down the hill. Shouldn't have missed my spot on a 135 yard hole and that was the punishment.
#4: Single fairway pot bunker seems fair on this long par 5. If anything make it deeper so it's a forced pitch out and a true penalty stroke rather than a 0.5 or less penalty. Same thing on #6.
#5: Knocked it to 8 feet and then putt 20 feet past the hole. Well, you did warn me with that stroke index of 1.
#8: This seems like the stroke index of 1 hole. Must hit the narrow fairway to get home in 2 on a long par 4. Fairway is very narrow but no weird slopes or anything. Just hit a good shot. I didn't, oh well.
#9: You gave us a shorty after that beast. 2-iron, sand wedge, and a missed 15 footer and I blow one of the few easy birdies. I like the house almost sitting on the green. I hope they have plenty of replacement windows.
#11: Digging the split fairway with water in between. I go left because I never have slow downswings. Well, except for this time. Into the water I go. Parred with my second ball but they tell me that's called a double bogey. At least I bookended this with birds on #10, 12, 13, and almost 14 if not for a lip out.
#15: Tough 500+ yard par 4 with sloped fairway and green. Stroke index of 12, nah.
#16: Tough 2-iron to a front pin. I accept my 40 foot lag and tap in. I can see how a pro club user would find this hole frustrating, but then again, what are you doing playing a 246 yard par 3?
#17: I like the front pin position that slopes downhill to a more severe slope. Better hit your third shot pitch precisely here or you'll have a 50 footer back up the hill.

Dang, pretty bummed to come across this thread, for a few reasons. First and foremost, how did Terry get brought into this? LOL I actually haven't played the course yet, but I'll be sure to do it on stream so that my reactions can be public, whether positive or negative. What's interesting to me personally, is that I think every person who responded in this thread follows me on Twitch (#humblebrag), but the reason I point that out is because in all of my interactions with every single one of you, I've never had any issues with this crew. It bums me out to have anybody here labeled as a cry baby, because I think this is a very supportive design community. Likewise, I can certainly understand the reaction people would have to the initial post due to the emotional comments being made, as I myself would probably react as a designer to those things. With that said, I don't think interactions in small doses can define us in a forum, so I'd like to think that all people involved could hopefully move forward from it and stay involved in the design community. As someone who can quickly have the, "I'm taking my ball and going home" attitude (hmm-hmm, cough, uh) like deleting their September 2014 OG Profile.... I can understand Totty's criticism but I can't justify the way it was presented. Critic should be pro, con, and burden of proof. Any debate should be point, counterpoint, rebuttal and move on. Once it became a 'community issue,' all of Totty's remarks were just in vain.

Good Lord, what a prick.
And 10 comments after saying you were done means you're looking for this attention....for a video game golf course to get you this upset is an indictment of your life in general. Get it together

Played a round here last night, it’s a good looking course. Think i scored -2 on default conditions (15-20 mph wind), long tees, with a cat on my lap that caused me to miss a couple of putts. Difficulty didn’t seem out of place compared to some courses we’ve seen in Cc pro.
i was playing quite aggressively, using the driver a lot and generally going for the pins. Might have just been lucky, though i did have a couple of nasty putts that I probably could have avoided with smarter play.

Watched VctryLnSprts play a round here yesterday. While I would somewhat agree with the sentiment that some had expressed of maybe a few too many pot bunkers right in the landing zone, I would wholeheartedly prefer the injection of some extra strategy and difficulty like this any day of the week. And the course itself was absolutely beautiful, especially the water feature that runs down the middle of the course. Some serious work went into it, and it turned out great. 10/10 effort! Keep up the good work

Get it together I know, it's crazy, almost like i never came back here after my last post. When people stop trying to take personal jabs at me, I'll stop replying. It's a crazy concept, I understand. Also, please come up with something better than the generic "your life must be awful" comment, i expected more from a kid whos opening line is "good lord what a prick" hahahaha.

(bird emoji) I was able to catch the last 3 or 4 holes, so didnt get to see the entire thing played out. All of my interactions with you, and others on stream have been great. This was just a tilted comment that should've been worded better. And probably not posted immediately after my rounds.
