We have changed the promotion mark logic for the Challenge Circuit. It was in effect prior to us finalizing Week 27. Details below: Old Promotion Mark logic:
- Top 20 plus ties in CC-Am/CC-Pro got promotion mark (regardless of clubset used)
New Promotion Mark Logic:- CC-A: Top 15 Master clubs and Top 5 Pro clubs get promotion mark (plus ties)
- CC-B through CC-Z: Top 10 Master clubs and Top 10 Pro clubs get promotion mark (plus ties)
- CC-A winner will only auto-promote if they use Master Clubs or the win gives them 5+ Promotion Marks
- If CC-A winner used pro clubs only 1 promo mark given
Still to Come:
We'll be adding the following filters to our leaderboards: - Pro/Master (these filters will be on CC-Pro/CC-Am leaderboards)
- PS4/XB1/PC (these filters will be on all TGCT leaderboards)
I've also put in a request to have a Movement Mark column added to all final leaderboards that show who got promotion marks and demotion marks from that specific event. Why?For the majority of the Challenge Circuit we've given each clubset an equal shot at earning a promotion mark. This is the fairest way to disperse promotion marks in our current structure. In CC-A we've put a higher priority on Master Clubs. The next step up the ladder (Web.com) requires them be used. Ideally we'll get more people switching from Pro to Master Clubs on CC-A since there will be a better chance to earn a promotion mark that way. Those that prefer Pro clubs should have a longer time promoting out of CC-A before being forced to use the Master clubset.

Let us know if you see any bugs in the system - It's hard to track currently. Still a work in progress. I am aware that Fast Track promotion didn't work this past week.

So it appears the pro club users are getting punished now? Cc am circuit should just be top 20 no matter what. Cc am isn’t a top flight so why the need to use masters. Why was this rolled out to every circuit? I totally understand in CC-Pro but don’t get the need in AM?

I feel like this group always is worried about clubset so maybe it’s just time to make everyone use the same clubs?

So in CC-D now for instance there is a mix of clubs but as a pro club user I’m only competing against fellow pro club users. Fair enough but you may as well go the whole hog and have separate LB’s. There’s really two comps going on in the same division!
I suppose I’m bitter as I lost out on a promo mark last week with the back dating. Doubt I’m good enough to get a promo mark from here on in, just about good enough to avoid demo marks, tried Masters and struggle with the intermittent v/f v/s so give up in frustration. Looks like CC-D for life! lol

Perhaps PRO and above should be Masters Clubs and AM should be Pro clubs and Beginner clubs already have their own division. Then everyone would be happy surely?

I’m in CC-F and using masters... if this means more people play masters because “they want to” vs “they have to”, I’m all for these changes...

Personally I think some are coming at this from the wrong angle. Certainly nobody is being punished, not when you consider anybody who prefers to play with Masters clubs have been 'punished' for their preference all season! What these changes do is redress an imbalance that we had before which was more pronounced the higher up the Challenge Circuit you went. There was talk about splitting the tours in to two halves with both promoting to Web, this does that without actually splitting the tours up. And actually I like that we're still on the same leaderboard, when the filters are added it'll all be a bit clearer. Keep in mind too, this is a 'band aid fix', I suspect further changes down the line. Sucks that you lost a promo mark though SkyBlueBen, that's unfortunate timing!

I wholeheartedly agree with them but the communication of it wasn't the best. I'd seen it but it wasn't exactly out there. Question is, are you going to use Masters as it gives you more promo spots to aim at, or are you happier using Pro? If it's the latter, why would you want a promo mark?

I may have used them this tourney if i knew but then again i might have shot a -5 or something too I have used Masters a few times, and only really use Pro because of the disadvantage of using Masters, so i will use Masters for a few rounds and see how it goes.

My mate plays in CC-Z and looking at how it would've been if it had come into play last week is the top 10 pro club users went down to 22nd (with ties) and master club users down to 37th (with ties) he finished 21st and didn't get anything but would've done. He's a pro club users. I think going on that, it seems pretty good to me. I wouldn't say anyone was getting punished now. They should've done something like this sooner. It would've filtered the tours much better.

Something wrong with your working out there Benny, that's an awful lot of people in the top 10! 😂 In Z last week top 10 Pro went to 13th and Masters to 25th.
