it would be good to remove the green grids. a bit like how EA did it, where u had to move your putting marker around to pick up the breaks if you couldnt see it, via elevation changes. it would be awesome if we had a reading mode, where your putting marker went into metric CM's and picked up the smallest of deviations of a read. unfortunately its stuck in inches and thus u cant pick up deviation less than an inch. We shouldnt have to have more firmness because its extreme anyway. id prefer softer greens yet alot more breaks, because we cant have the ball rolling off glass greens and thats what happens with severe slopes even on medium firmness I believe you can do that here..I saw someone, I forget who. who made a video showing how. You can but its not as good because there is no metric option. ie u cannot pick up breaks less than an inch, therefore if the green doesnt deviate an inch anywhere the marker will indicate the green is flat

Maybe practice would help..

Played a few holes with grid off, not for me at this time in my "education" efforts. With all the talk today about lack of a good challenge, for guys like me, it's enough challenge as the game is today, I am comfortable with the status quo, it is a challenge for me every time I tee off.

Look for a course named "so you think this game is easy" I loved it playing this way! I doubt I will continue this league

If you are birding every hole almost and you still might not win the tourney then I think that should be addressed. Definitly shouldnt be no 55s and 54s getting posted all the time like it is. Im just stating my opinion that flat greens and -18 isnt what I look foward to in this game. perhaps all is not what it seems? maybe everyone including myself should have a "low" round verified before being allowed to be considered making the cut?

No grids would be fine if everyone on each platform (xb1, ps4 and pc) were all running nice, high end graphics (with HD monitors/TVs) to have the opportunity to make a read of the green. But that isn't the case, so it would do more damage than good imo.
Also, we've seen previous efforts to run "hard core" tournaments suffer from not having many participants. Most people understand there is that line between real world and video game world. Finding the balance will take some time with something of this scale that TGCT is trying to do. Fickett is right when he says there is a lot of variables along with some unknowns yet to be worked out. It is early in the game here, maybe we should all just take a step back at this point, let the good people at TGCT absorb more incoming rounds from all tiers, evaluate and then adjust at the appropriate time (most likely off season).
Good discussion but we have regurgitated some old stuff from previous conversations in other forums.

I would like to play on courses designed like the real ones. That is something that should be worked on for next year. Would be awesome if the tourneys were played at a close replica. I know it can never be exact but playing at a course that was laid out exactly like TPC Scottsdale would make game alot better and add to the realism rather than playing a random desert course. Probably wouldn't do anything to make scores higher but would make the tour better IMO

And yeah I'm getting bored of talking about this..same ole same ole.

I got the answer I needed fellas, this thread should be dead now. Simply wanted a answer and he did in great detail. He explained it will get tougher and thats something to look foward to. I don't want any of game's tools that help us figure out shots to get took away. Cause honestly in real life you can get your distances to exact yardage, can tell which way wind is blowing, also read greens from front and back, and you can also walk up to every green before you hit into it. So I think all those tools are fair and necassary.

I play in any wind condition I get when I load up the game, but I'm sure 90% of the people only play when it's really low. I should know, 99% of the ghost balls I play (which are the top scores) play in no wind. It's obvious by the driving distance and their dead-aim shots. I can't wait for equal playing field where the wind can be set for everyone the same.
