Judges were spot on with reviews on mine, there could and should have been so much more work done in every aspect. Nowhere near enough polish on it.

You are one of the designers that I have on my shortlist to blow our ears back with a publish in the near future. You have the eye for it...you have the ability...now it's just putting them together and letting it rip. Don't stop entering contests...you're really friggin close, man. Get out of your own head and just make time to finish one off. Attention to detail is what ultimately did this one in for you. I marked it pretty high in terms of playablility.

I marked it pretty high in terms of playablility. jivesinator, I thought this was an organically challenging course when I played it and definitely left thinking, I'll do better next time.

I'll concur with what was said above jivesinator. I did think the pin positions got a little cute at times, either too close to edge or a couple of instances of yellow slope in the 9-box. But overall, it was a very fair, playable course. Was just missing some of the finishing touches and sizzle of some of the others. In general I'll add that, in my playing of the courses, there was very little separating 6th to about 20th -- all of which are slam dunk, tour-worthy courses IMO. That again goes to what's been said as one of the overriding themes of this competition, the overall depth of the field was insanely good.

Yep best field of any competition, as always the community is the biggest winner of these competitions.

I agree that my pitfall on almost every course I’ve made has been putting it all together in the end and, in competitions, leaving myself enough time to polish the course before the deadline.

Right on with your comments on Dambulla Golfing Society. I published early, should have kept working on the course I guess. I do want to say that some of the call outs were designed the way they were on purpose, #3 and #5 for example. Both were supposed to be blind, very challenging holes. That said, I respect the comments from designers with far more knowledge than me about these things. Bottom line, I learned from the experience and will hopefully improve.

Thanks for all the effort put into the judging and running of this contest. Although I was last as predicted before we started I still enjoyed it and I will try harder next time round using the feedback given. Although I am finding it hard to find the time a good course deserves when being new. But oh well it’s just a game Cheers

IM not sure how it rose finishing last but i appreciate your investment. I might be able to sculpt a hole with your contribution

As an outsider - could I request that you put the (forum) name of the designer beside each course name in the results please Griff? With all the foreign names, I have no idea who made (for example) Maghreb (although I know I've played it), but if you put that it was made by xxxxx, then that would help this forgetful old bugger remember the course easier!
