Thanks to griff and the judging panel for putting this on and for all the really good feedback - not just on my own course, but for all the courses. Good stuff to consider all around.
Congrats to staypuft for an awesome course and well-deserved blue ribbon.

Just finished reading the final 4 results.... Many congratz to the podium placers especially our winner staypuft39 - great job man!! Will be interesting now to see how these results affect the overall standings thread. |

I had to go back to Jumeirah to see what all the fuss was about. I have played this course before and categorized it as 'good' and give four stars. But after reading the judges comments I had to have a thorough look at the course, and I have to admit that the routing is extremely bizzare. I never noticed that before! And regarding the squiggly rough, it's definitely worth taking the step forward and using the spline and brush technique to make sure you eliminate these parasitic squiggles. I'm speaking from experience as I've only just started using this technique myself, it's well worth it! But overall I agree with the routing critique, it is very unrealistic and seems to have been done just to get good views into the sunlight. I still kept the four star rating though.
