I'll start this week as have to play all my rounds early as I'm off on holidays . I said to mrooola the other night I can't remember a single visual feature of the course , he was not impressed. After playing rounds 1&2 I still can't haha. The reason is this course involves so much thought planing and concentration that if you stop to smell the roses your looking at a double bogey! Great course great test something new to be whinged about Rd 1 -6 Rd 2 -7 Happy that'll get me to the weekend Early doors prediction that I'm always miles off with cut -10

I got off to a shakey start with the winds, and missing putts I should have made. Not much better in the 2nd round either. I've played this course quite a few times over the last week or so, along with the practice tournament. I think I'm going to stop doing practice rounds and see if it makes a difference, as I always do good the 1st couple of times I play a course. Then the tournament comes and I over think every shot I play. R1 = 67 (-5) R2 = 66 (-6)

North47 I used to practice but found I end up over thinking my actual rounds. All I do now is play 1 round get a feel for the greens and jump in. Actually lately I'm goin in cold as I don't have time but wouldn't advise that as my recent results would suggest

In my opinion, Web.com's Carolina Low was the hardest course among the 5 available tournaments this week. I would guess that -10 would make cut, possibly even going to 9 under. The course creator (Ola?) was really sadistic in the way he went about planning almost every one of the tee shots. If you're going to score low here, you better lay up often and take notes about which trees to avoid in practice. Hitting out of 80% deep rough is never fun and not ideal for making par or better.

I completely agree but I think it's great that Ola has put together a course that is tough and doesn't have glass greens . I had to play punch shots and every club in my bag this week and I loved it! I had easily my worst FIR probably in 2016 but each time was my fault and I paid for some played wonder shots the other times. I'm sure I'll have complaints about the course this week but IMO I'm glad I putt it on the schedule.

I'm definitely going to just load up the course for next week on either Saturday night or Sunday morning and just play 3 or 4 holes to get a feel for the greens firmness and speed. My practice rounds for this week I was averaging -9/-10. Even with the winds kind of high. But because I thought I had the course in my head for every shot I needed to play I over thought them to make sure I got them right. There are quite a few risk reward holes on this course and and some where you need to pull on the brakes and aim for par to be birdie. No complaints from me anyway Moe Slorkman for putting this course on the schedule. Even if I didn't score as low as I was hoping to, it's a very nice course to play, both in the way you need to go about your rounds and how it looks.

What a terrific "gray matter" course where just about every tee shot had to be thought about. Had developed a round one plan for this one that I just decided to stick to and adjust for the high winds. Saw guys trying to hit drivers to that "perfect" spot while I played 3 irons to a nice wide landing area avoiding the heavily punitive rough. Took one big chance on a par 5 and it paid off with an eagle putt. Pretty darn happy with a -11 opener.

Is the green firmness the same through all the rounds? I'm off on holiday this week too and am really struggling for time. Hope the missus doesn't mind doing all the packing!..

Great course! I went -8, -6, E, -7. I would like to think -14 gets me in cut. The 3rd round will cost me a lot of money on the paycheck!! everyone has their stories of yips and 3 putts and what not, but I had literally most frustrating hole to date on this game. Wish I would have remembered the hole, but was a par 3, I hit it 6 foot stiff with an uphill put for birdie, and make a real long story short I took a 6. Had to get up and walk away to try and regroup, that hole alone cost me big this week, not that I would be in contention to win it, but every dollar counts to finish top 10 on money list for year end to earn card for PGA.
I do think like you guys are saying that you can over practice a course in my opinion to a point, you shoot good rounds in practice and set an expectation moving forward in tournament play, adds a little indirect pressure knowing what you can do, even though conditions can vary. However this course in Carolina low maybe an exception to that, as club selection is paramount in setting up for scoring, so if anything several reps off the tee here to know what club to hit in different situations invaluable to set up like this. Leave the driver in the bag!! A lot of times leave 3 wood in bag!! 225 plenty in a lot of these tee shots. I only went -21 but would have shot that without being conservative off tee. Just my 2 cents here. Again great course, no complaints here. Good choice MoeSlorkman!

-7 -2. (Completely forgot how to play the dang game)
Maybe 9 will be good enough to make the cut. I've got a vacation this week so guess I'll go ahead and play the other rounds just in case.

-6 for round 3 and +2 for round 4. Total -13. Hurry up golf for rounds 3 and 4. I did decline media questions after and went straight for the courtesy vehicles. 2nd and 4th round felt like I was trying to turn chicken $@&+ into chicken salad. Not the performance I wanted before the qualifier.

Hi everyone ! I'm on exemption this week. I made some mistakes but my putter worked great the first 3 rounds. Round 4 (The nightmare) : High winds, my putter died, CC-Z approach shots, bad decisions, some REALLY HARD (almost unfair in certain cases) pin positions and even wrong club selections.
Summary: Easy course on average conditions, the score should be enough to get my WEB card, I lost the exemption because I'm dumb.
R1: -9 R2: -10 R3: -9 R4: -1
Total = -29
