Shot 65, 67, 76!!, 65. Shocker of a third round, just left it in all the wrong positions on the greens every hole it seemed like. 1 bad round every tournament at the moment! Hopefully make the cut.
Loved the course even though my third round was awful. Great challenge.

Feeling a bit shell shocked after playing the first two rounds last night. Round one was OK, couple of mistakes (like completely missing the fairway with a 'safe' lay up) but a decent 65. Then ticking along quite nicely in round two, got to -6 through 14 so -13 for the tournament, thinking I'd probably done enough to make the cut and start setting sights on a top 25. And then....
Tee shot hits the rough at 15, I stupidly try to clear the water instead of just pitching out and taking my medicine. Result, wet ball and drop zone back in the rough, double bogey 7. At 16 my tee shot is fine but I can see the danger in attacking the pin with my approach, go for it anyway and don't quite give it enough, wet ball number two! Get it right the second time and have a very makeable bogey putt, three putts later treble bogey 7!
Five shots dropped in two holes! -13 and aiming for a top 25 to -8 and probably not making the cut in the blink of an eye! Carolina Low has got some serious teeth.

I think I had a similar shot on 16 i delofted a wedge (if it's the same hole with island green) closed my eyes and prayed till I heard "I think we can 2 putt from here" some scary shots out there!

I'm baffled by the feedback on the course thus far.
People seems to enjoy it far more than expected and much lower scores than I imagined. I'm doubtful I'll be anywhere near the cut, but hopefully I can rise to the occasion and put in something respectable on home turf.
I knew I was going to enjoy it, but the interest of the course on release was Tame to say the least.
For those yet to tee off I wish you luck and remember to keep your cool if you're off your game. It can get ugly real fast, but reward those who are patient.

It can get ugly real fast, but reward those who are patient. I think people are enjoying it because it's fair. You have to make choices all over the place, and the right choices executed well are rewarded with birdie putts. Make the wrong choice and the course rises up and bites you on the arse! And not a concrete green in sight! It really does remind me of Fossmill in many ways (although more difficult), easily my favourite course I played on the Challenge Circuit. I think Moe's initial prediction of -10 is probably about right for the cut. I haven't completely given up hope on -8 but I know it's unlikely to be enough. 15 and 16 absolutely killed me!

I have a problem with this course and it can be summed up in one word, temptation. I have enjoyed the course every time I have played. Every round is different, changing winds open up different options. But no matter how safe I try to play, she is always there lurking in the background, whispering seductively in my ear with a voice full of promise, with thoughts of unearthly delights that will follow if I draw it around that tree, if I drive it further than everyone else, if I just take the chance. That's fine on practice but this is on tour where lady temptations flirting takes on a whole new meaning, where a single shot can be the difference between glory or a long lonely walk up the eighteenth. I have got to resist, I have got to ignore the come hither eyes, the flash of flesh from deep in the trees, I can't believe the promises she whispers. I have got do resist, can I resist? Time for round one.
And so it begins, gently at first, a driver around the tree or a safe lay up. No major risk with driver but the possibility of a shorter second shot, the temptation was there, I went driver, not because of lady temptation but to prove I am my own man and I make up my own mind and it was fine, less than a hundred yards to the green, I then managed to ignore the wind on my second shot, fell short into a bunker, dropped shot on the first. In shock after such a basic error on the first, I failed to complete my backswing on my drive on the second, luckily, it being a par five, the shorter drive did not effect the hole and I got my dropped shot back. Then there she was, running and giggling through the trees, beckoning me to follow. I followed, and ended up alone, away from the soft gentle grass of the fairway, on a rocky outcrop with her laughter ringing in my ears, just a par, I will not be tempted again. A temptation free par followed, my tee shot was fine, I struggled to read the putt and was happy to walk away with par. My shot to the green on the fifth was terrible, well short with the extra frustration of watching my ball roll further and further away, a safe par on a hole where birdie should be made. My second birdie of the day came on the sixth, a good tee shot left just eight feet, a birdie I needed. I could not push on though, my approach on seven was a little to hard and went of the back of the green, I should have made the chip, but I did not make the chip, just a par. And there she was, swimming around the eighth hole, the water glistening on the skin of her bikini clad body, lady temptation was back with a vengeance. It was not the smart shot to play but she sang her siren song and resistance crumbled, I aimed a little left so if I did not reach the green, I would not be in the water. I swung with all my might, muscles straining as I gripped the club tightly. I wanted to make the green but had to impress her as I did but she was gone even before my ball hit the rocks, suckered again. But Lady Luck appeared, pity in her eyes, I was a pathetic sight, as my ball bounced off the rocks, she granted me a favour I did not deserve and rolled my ball to within ten feet of the hole, eagle followed but I can not rely on Lady Luck to save me again. I finished the front nine with birdie, my approach was spot on, a tap in putt, four under.
Driver was always going to make the second fairway on ten, it was a no brainier rather than a temptation, the second shot over the trees was also doable, getting over the trees was not a issue, accuracy was though as I made a complete balls of the shot when I thought the wind alone would be enough to bring the ball to the green with out any shot shaping. I never came close to the green, hitting the bunker to the left. A good bunker shot left a short birdie putt, I got away with that one. My approach on eleven should have been a lot closer, again not paying attention cost me, I should have allowed for my ball hitting the slope on the green and not rolling as far as it would had the green being flat. I hit my birdie putt a little to hard, it was a good effort but that extra speed bounced the ball over the cup rather than in the cup, a good par nonetheless. The conditions were right to attack the pin on twelve, six feet short of the cup and a straight putt to bring me to six under. On thirteen, for the second time this round, I did not complete my backswing, again though, it was on a hole where its effects were minimal. My approach was good, leaving a twelve putt with slight left to right break, not a gimme but a putt I should make more often than not. I did make to go seven under. I knew fourteen was a hole you had to play safe, I left my driver behind, care was taken and I still dropped three damn shots. What a kick in the nuts, I over hit and misread putt after putt, was running from one side of the cup to another like a Benny Hill sketch, what a disaster. Now just got to stop laughing at myself and focus on trying to get a shot or two back. Dammit, Benny Hill music stuck in my head now, with images of my chasing your one from Frasier all over the course in quick time, some way to focus that is. At least a short par five is next, what could possibly go wrong. What a bounce, my approach hits the fringe, bounces sky high and forty yards away from the cup. A poor pitch sent my ball right and short but thankfully made the putt to get one shot back. My third under hit drive of the day, this time though, I ended up in the bunker. Rushing my swing was not the issue this time, the hot chicken baguette I was eating was the problem, made my club a bit greasy and it hand slipped. Not the first time this has happened, long time ago when I was just starting my golfing career, a grilled cheese sandwich caused disaster, you think I would have learned my lesson. Anyway, before all this talk of food gets my hungry again, bunker, to heavy rough, chipped close and par. Between food, Benny Hill and Daphine running through the woods, my focus was completely gone, par on seventeen before a fantastic approach on eighteen brought tap in birdie to finish six under.
What a blast, so much fun, get the feeling my post will disappear if I keep writing, good luck all.

I wondered what that sweet whispering in my ear was, thought I was just tired. Brilliant hmammoth, sums up playing this course perfectly

So my -16 should safe for the cut :-)
Should have been -10 in both rounds, missed 4 putts inside 5 feet (ugh)...
This is a course you have to manage (which I love).. I think I hit irons off the tee on all the short par 3s.. Still leaves a fairly easy shot in. No reason to go for broke here.
