Well I've just found out I have a dud controller. I've got 2 and I had a suspicion that I hit it straighter with one than the other. Pretty much proved that is the case now. I'll be making sure I use the good one from now on.

Who said I can't play 2 good round in a row??? Come on who was it? Oh yes, it was me! The start of round 2 was similar to the first. This time though putts were left short. No excuses. I took the harder chances but missed easier ones. I was far too timid with the putter. Still though I continued on, playing well up until the greens. -5 after 13 was respectable and I had a shot of making the cut. Then my soon to be competitor in the Ryder cup c6vette2010 decided to contact me on the course!! Surely a tactic to put me off my good form so he could take victory in the singles. Well Bill, it didn't work. I birdied the next 4 holes including being inches away from an ace on the 17th. I finished with a -9 and -14 after 2 rounds. I must be safe! I'm coming for you tomorrow Bill! Come all over him Dean , come all over that yank!! Oh wait might need to reword that Hmmm. I believe the exact message to you was, and I quote: "Don't want to interrupt your web round, but I could chat for a minute about setting up the Ryder cup match if you want?" But I do enjoy the smack talk. Grin and LOL. Bodily fluids aside Slorkman...

Wasn't it "hey, European scum bag, time to arrange your singles losing match NOW!"

A par start for round two which is a improvement over round one. That's what I need to do, improve over my first round and there's a good chance that I will make the cut. No distractions and I'll be fine, focus on the course and nothing else. Forget things like the hot Brazilian neighbor that call to my door last night, wearing shorts and a tight tank top because of the unnatural heat. In a sultry voice and broken English, she tells me that she needs a man, that she is desperate a badly needs my help, that I am the only one that can satisfy her need( words may have changed for dramatic license). Being the gentleman I am, I invited her in and it's not hard to guess what happened after that, I gave her what she needed, the use of my printer to print up a boarding pass. It nice to be a good neighbor, anyway where was I. Oh yes, round two. I went one under on the second, not making birdie there would have been a disaster and I came close to messing it up by leaving my pitch shorter than I would have liked, my putt was straight and birdie was made. No chances were taken on the third which I kind of regret now as my long approach took a vicious bounce to end of the back of the green, just a par. A bounce came into play on the fourth also, my tee shot looked great, when it hit the green it hit a upslope causing the ball to stop rather than roll towards the hole, still I was left with a straight putt which I did not hit hard enough so it stopped inches from the cup, a shot left behind. A very disappointing par on the fifth, I misjudged the wind on my short approach and left the ball short, terrible play, I should be making birdie there. Another poor shot, another par on six, again I got the wind wrong which took away any birdie chance. I sense a worrying pattern here that needs to be broken. Same story on seven, there is no reason not to get the ball close on these approach shots, my approach on seven was a perfect distance to get close and yet I did not, still one under. I finally picked up a shot on eight, my approach was not good and the putt I was left with scared the shite out of my, downhill with yellow lines just beyond the cup. I did not play for birdie, I just wanted to get close for a safe par, I over hit my putt and it rolled in, not planned but I'll take it. I over hit my birdie putt on nine as well, no lucky roll in this time, ten feet past the hole, made a good par though. Not a great front nine, not giving myself enough chances, need to improve.
My drive on ten went a lot further than I expected leaving a tricky shot from the rough. I got over the trees but no where near the green, ended up in a bunker but with a good lie. A good bunker shot left me six feet, the putt was not easy, a lot of break but it dropped to bring me to three under. Bunker again on eleven, this time though a good bunker shot was needed to save par and it was a good shot, right up till it hit the base of the flag, rebounding and rolling twelve feet away. Now needed a good putt to save par and it was a good putt, right up til it hit the lip of the cup and rolled five feet away, my first bogey of the day. No quick fire return of the dropped shot with just a par on twelve. I did get it back on thirteen, I had planned to use the slope to the right of the flag to roll it close, that plan went out the window when I hit the ball left, a good putt though and back to three under. Remembering yesterday's disaster on fourteen, I played safe, I played wrapped up in cotton wool safe, took my par and ran to the next hole. Birdie was vital on fifteen, to have any hope, I could not leave another par five pass without picking up a shot. I played it well and moved to four under. Finding myself in the rough from the tee on sixteen was not what I wanted, no way was I getting close to the flag and any attempt could have found me in a far worse position. I played as far from the flag as safely possible, lagged close for a good par. The bounce came back to haunt me on seventeen leaving a impossible thirty foot down hill put, came no where close with that putt, ended up dropping a shot and maybe a short week. I could not make birdie on the last, so three under is how it finished.
A disappointing round, mainly let down by poor approach shots. I have no idea if eight under will make the cut, I have my doubts. Will have to wait and see, good luck all.

I tried next week's course, the greens are rock solid. This is gonna be really hard. It's a great course next week, you are right about the greens being firm but birdies can be made. It's a challenging course and a lot of fun, practice is recommended though just to get used to the firmness. The mixing of courses on the web since I joined has been great, it's nice to play different types of courses. Anyway, good luck next week.

Man o man, The struggle is real over here folks! Played like crap in the open qualifier, the ryder cup, and now this weeks tourney. I lost whatever momentum I had haha. This course rewards smart shots, and for whatever reason I decided to play this weeks with a go for broke attitude. I don't think I hit 50% of the fairways. Shot -7 which is currently above the cut line but wont stay there I hope. played until the 11th hole in the third round and then quad-bogied the par 5. Great job to those putting up these low scores!, or anyone who makes the cut for that matter! I'll see ya'll next week! haha.

Boy do I know how to implode during a tournament! Sitting in the 25, playing well I really thought I had a chance of a top 10. When I missed a birdie putt to go 3 under after 3 I wasn't concerned. When I dropped 5 shots in the next 3 holes I was. It included a 3 putt from 12 feet and a water shot leading to a triple bogey on the 5th. I never recovered from that. I'd dropped 2 shots on the first 39 holes and that was a double but here I had a triple, a double and 3 bogeys. +3 in total. Why do I do this to myself?

Round 4 - 7. Just 1 round away from my first top 25 since the end of March, my highest position is actually 73rd. I should beat that but not by as much as I wanted to. It was a bogey free round with little incident, just like round 3 should have been. -5 -9 +3 (noooooooooooooooooooo) -7

I've really lost touch with my game. Only 1 bogey on the first two rounds, but I've never ever grazed so many cups as I did today. The frack it mode came early as I felt I had to take risks to make up shots... one would think someone who designed the course, played it well over 50 times and constantly tell everyone else not to get impatient on this course would get the picture but nooooooooo... I fell for my own fracking traps every hole. -4 -5 for a total of -9 and most likely a 5th missed cut in a row.. what the heck happened?
This course sux. It's unfair and tricked up beyond belief....
