Hello Challenge Circuit members! I am the designer of Yuchi Valley. I am honored that my course has been chosen for the The Blue Moon Championship on the Challenge Circuit. A version of this course was designed for, and hosted, a Tournament on the RGT (last years version of the TST no-aids tour). I designed this course to be unique and for every hole to feel and play differently. There are some risk/reward shot options from the tees and fairways and ball placement in the fairways is sometimes critical for good angles to attack the pins. Watching the flyover will reveal some possible obstacles to avoid. Some of the greens are tiered and punish wayward approaches but accurate/smart shots will leave you with fairly easy putts. There are some subtle changes in firmness/speed and lighting in the first 3 rounds but If you're in contention going into Sunday, be prepared for a challenge. I strongly recommend everyone give the Sunday pin a play through. The firmness and speed have been increased for Sunday. The pins placements for Sunday were studied and play tested to play tough but fair with thoughtful, well placed shots. Good luck to all and I sincerely hope that everyone enjoys their rounds here. -wes- (nocturnal)

The course looks very nice...more aesthetically appealing than the desert themed courses...not a big fan of that theme. I will likely practice the Sunday pin more than the others...seems to work better for me come the tournament if I put the majority of my practice rounds in on the hardest set up.
Edit: the tournament set up says we're not playing the Friday tee for the tourny...so.. scratch that practice round.

Just loaded the sunday setup to check it out. I find 20mph winds. I'm scared, without need to hit the first shoot

If people were complaining about Powderfinger and Denali...Yuchi is gonna send them over the edge.

Pablo, I've played 6 rounds on the tourney setup and am yet to get under par! By far the most difficult CC course in a very long time imo.

Played the Thursday setup for the 1st time and went around at -2...played it again and shot -11. The Sunday is tough...really tough. I find this course tougher than Denali when the wind is up.

Whew. Never played this course before. Jumped in head first on Sunday pin (leader board empty, nothing to gauge myself on).
15-20mph winds
-4 through 9
Then it was followed by 4 bogies on the back 9 to finish even for the round.
Nice course, whiners will have a field day on the Sunday one if winds are up lol. Will be manageable if the winds are ok.
That 18'th with 17 mph wind at my back is fun, 621 yards, still didnt hit it in two, though I messed up the loft, too much of it and came up short.

Shot an abysmal 78 1st go round...teed it up again and limped in with a -2 for a 69 Tournament page says Saturday pin only..can someone confirm? www.tgctours.com/Tournament/Details/1369

Doyleys CC multi-pin thread says Thurs, Thurs, Sat and Sun. Not sure if the double Thurs pin is an error or not. Jim, how the hell did you shoot -11 on this course? Can't see myself getting anywhere near that. Nice course though.

I'll have a go also in friday pins. Mere curiosity The Friday set up in from alternate tee boxes (blues). This shortened the course up a bit but a few par 5's turned into par 4's. (par of 69) The weather is rain and fairways and greens are softer and slower. Was probably omitted because it was a par of 69. It is definitely a course that will play tough in higher winds....especially Sunday. For most people, Sunday will be damage control. Use the scout cam to look at the green slopes and where you might end up if your shot misses it mark or you misread the wind. As a general rule, play approach shots shorter than you think you need to. Most people will struggle and do a lot of scrambling on Sunday so don't get discouraged. There is a 2nd fairway a little left on 18. A shot to the right hand side of this fairway with the wind at your back may give you a shot at the green if you can bend it around the trees.
