Royce: My practice rounds were similar to yours and I ended up with a -8 after cut and -14 overall. Curious about USGA guidelines regarding hole placement since I've never read up on it before: are real courses not supposed to be on sloped surfaces? If so, how do they determine which holes are considered "too sloped"?
147 entries in Web.com's week 1 tournament for the second season.
24 entries so far for the first round, with median score at -3.5

Ok, curiousity got the best of me and I googled:
3. An area two to three feet in radius around the hole should be as nearly level as possible and of uniform grade. In no case should holes be located in tricky places, or on sharp slopes where a ball can gather speed. A player above the hole should be able to stop the ball at the hole.

gsrpdf.lib.msu.edu/ticpdf.py?file=/2000s/2008/080721.pdfThe Rangers nor I didn't feel any of the pins were unfair to the point of where you couldn't stop a putt to within 3 feet of the hole. I'm sorry if you thought so guys as it is something I look out for in courses as I hate unfair pins myself. Cheers for the feedback and try to suggest courses on the suggestion thread if you feel you play one that's Web worthy. Cheers.

This course was good at inflicting pain for being in the wrong area. I feel like plenty of opportunities existed but placement of irons was crucial. A few really tough spots but I would hesitate to say unfair. This week forced a needed change in my pre shot routine...where not to miss!

This is my first Web.com tournament after 10 weeks on the CC tour. I posted a 66/63/63/63 for a -25. I had a triple bogey in round one - I was trying to hit out of a fairway bunker and smacked it off the slope in front of me and the ball went 90 degrees left and plunked into the water. I thought for sure I'd clear that mound. That's hard to judge in a video game. Does anyone have a guess as to where the cut line usually is on this tour? The course was definitely challenging and I really enjoyed having to make so many decisions with clubs and placement. I'm looking forward to this season!

I'd like to point out that I was on the front page leader board for the first Web tourney today. Name in lights, it won't ever happen again.
Granted, only 4 others had submitted their scores up to that point...but I was visible for the briefest of times. I took a screenshot and will be signing 8x10 glossy pics if anyone wants a copy.

I know what you mean! I was up there too. That never happens lol! Course was tough, greens were really tricky, lots of subtle breaks. -15 isn't winning me anything!

-6 to finish, was chasing you all the way and missed out by 1 Well played! haha - well we can sit next to each other around the 50th spot, grab a beer, and talk about what might have been! I'm guessing at 50th place. Not sure what the studs on this tour will end up doing on this course. I'll be joining you guys soon enough, finished 3 rounds and don't think I've been more than 2 shots separated from you yet (even after 3). Would be interested to know the split of players in Web that are on xbox. Surprised that its late Monday here on the west coast, and there aren't a lot of scores on the xbox leaderboard.... usually at least a few of the PGA/Euro guys are up there giving us something to shoot for (or demotivate us...).

There are only about a dozen scores posted on the steam leaderboard. PS4 has the highest percentage of players, I believe. Too bad there's no easy way to determine which system a player is on without clicking the name on the leaderboard. Or maybe there is a way and I just haven't figured it out.

If you are on a desktop, just put your cursos over a name on the leaderboad and after a second their username and platform shows up. Also, on fridays just before the signup closes, look at an events leaderboard and you will see the usernamesnin one column and platform in the next column. Im not sure if you still can anymore, but you used to be able to sort the platform column and it would show each console grouped together.

I thought this course was perfect for Web. I'd be happy if they were all like this. You really have to be on your game. Mistakes will be punished. You have to have good course management, you can't always go for the pins and you can't always use your driver. Really good!!!
Round 1 I found practice hard going. My best attempt had been -4, my last practice I got a -6 and although that included a ace I though it was time to go for the real deal. That looked like a huge mistake after 2 holes. I had to scramble to 2 pars, I almost bogied them. It wasn't going to plan at all. I managed to get back on track with a birdie on 3. Two more birdies followed on the front 9 but I wasn't playing well. I was lucky to be -3, I only hit 4 greens in regulation. I had survived a poor spell of play with a solid score. The back nine went much better. I hit every fairway and had 100% GIR. I made 5 birdies and finished with a very pleasing -8. I missed a 3 foot putt on one of the holes, I got so frustrated. I must remember this is just a game!
Round 2 This round started in a similar fashion to round 1 although I played better. I wasn't picking up the birdies as often. I even managed a bogey. I was even par after 12 and I started to think, I'm back in Web and nothing has changed. I'm still going to miss the cut. I'm not sure what the cut off will be but at -8 with 6 holes left I was on the edge. I managed 4 birdies on the final 6 holes to card a -4. So -12 after 2 rounds which should be enough to make the cut. I was still in about 4th place on the PS4 although obviously there are lots of people still to go. We may have a high number of people not posting scores this week. I'm happy with my start back on the Web, 2 more solid rounds required.

I didn't get a notice either but the system here shows me listed in the players section for Web Tour. I was able to submit scores too. Sounds like they are still getting everything together. Probably a lot more work than we all realize. It will sort itself out soon I'm sure. Leaderboard has someone with a 57 in round 1. HOOOOOOWEEEEEE! Here we go! Yeah, Well done Martin Law. I though it was a really hard course too. Setting my sights on making the cut, probably going to need -10 or above for the 2 rounds. I've not done that in practice yet Thanks, I had one of those rounds, Everything went in. Rounds 2 and 3 were pretty mediocre.. Yet to play round 4.

Well after 2 bogey-free practice rounds, my first round on the web tour was a display of poor putting. Missed birdies on the first 2 holes by about an inch combined, bogied a couple holes and only managed a 67. Got slightly better from there with a 65-66-62 but we'll see if I did enough to make the cut. Already looking forward to next week...which is looking like it's going to be a big adjustment with some SUPER slow greens at Red October.
