Well after 2 bogey-free practice rounds, my first round on the web tour was a display of poor putting. Missed birdies on the first 2 holes by about an inch combined, bogied a couple holes and only managed a 67. Got slightly better from there with a 65-66-62 but we'll see if I did enough to make the cut. Already looking forward to next week...which is looking like it's going to be a big adjustment with some SUPER slow greens at Red October. I think you will be fine with -12 after 2. Good last round. This score is something to aim for!

I'm thinking I'll be alright by a couple strokes...but it is only -8 as it was a par 70 this week. I suppose I'm the type that likes to have goals so I'm glad I didn't set the world on fire off the hop ;-)

I thought this course was perfect for Web. I'd be happy if they were all like this. You really have to be on your game. Mistakes will be punished. You have to have good course management, you can't always go for the pins and you can't always use your driver. Really good!!! Round 1 I found practice hard going. My best attempt had been -4, my last practice I got a -6 and although that included a ace I though it was time to go for the real deal. That looked like a huge mistake after 2 holes. I had to scramble to 2 pars, I almost bogied them. It wasn't going to plan at all. I managed to get back on track with a birdie on 3. Two more birdies followed on the front 9 but I wasn't playing well. I was lucky to be -3, I only hit 4 greens in regulation. I had survived a poor spell of play with a solid score. The back nine went much better. I hit every fairway and had 100% GIR. I made 5 birdies and finished with a very pleasing -8. I missed a 3 foot putt on one of the holes, I got so frustrated. I must remember this is just a game! Round 2 This round started in a similar fashion to round 1 although I played better. I wasn't picking up the birdies as often. I even managed a bogey. I was even par after 12 and I started to think, I'm back in Web and nothing has changed. I'm still going to miss the cut. I'm not sure what the cut off will be but at -8 with 6 holes left I was on the edge. I managed 4 birdies on the final 6 holes to card a -4. So -12 after 2 rounds which should be enough to make the cut. I was still in about 4th place on the PS4 although obviously there are lots of people still to go. We may have a high number of people not posting scores this week. I'm happy with my start back on the Web, 2 more solid rounds required. Guess who's sitting next to you on -12 after two rounds!! Likewise I'm happy with those scores in my inaugural web event, a tough but lovely course with some very hard pins. Enough to make cut? Time will tell. ⛳️

It's just a video game, but the nerves that happen in these rounds are real. As a CC player here for the first time, I have a bunch of stuff running through my head...do I belong here?...can I hang with these guys? Oh crap that ghost player just chipped it in!...I'm blowing it!!! What always hits me most is not playing great and scrambling around for a couple of pars in a row. I might have made some good shots to save par, but then I look at my card and realize I'm losing ground to the field. Each shot seems to add more pressure. Reading how you were even par after 12 had me thinking of my own rounds all over again. My R4 was a mess with bogey/birdie and a ton of lost chances.

I feel like I have to get this stuff off my chest after my wife continues to badly pretend to be interested. I've really been sucked into this. I've never done anything like this before. It just feels so official that it makes it important. I practice a few times prior, read everything on here and when I start for real and it goes wrong I feel like the week has been wasted. Previously I used to cave in under the pressure but now I try to keep a level head and tell myself I can still do it. At least on this course a par wasn't a disaster on most holes. I feel it more when you need -10, I was aiming for -5 here so I was happy to take the pars most of the time. It still can be frustrating though

Well played Kenny, solid start to your Web career ha! Unfortunately I don't think I'll be joining you for the weekend.
Still..... The bar in the hotel is quite nice so I may watch your progress from the balcony.

I think the fame and glamour got to my head this week! ha!

Yeah, I think the cut will be more like 8 or 10 under but we will see. You're probably right. After my first round I was thinking, I can win this. It got to my head and after 12 holes of the 2nd round I was wanting to go back to CC-B!!!!

gsrpdf.lib.msu.edu/ticpdf.py?file=/2000s/2008/080721.pdfThe Rangers nor I didn't feel any of the pins were unfair to the point of where you couldn't stop a putt to within 3 feet of the hole. I'm sorry if you thought so guys as it is something I look out for in courses as I hate unfair pins myself. Cheers for the feedback and try to suggest courses on the suggestion thread if you feel you play one that's Web worthy. Cheers. Thank you for that link oswinner. Very interesting reading - do you or anyone else know if something similar exists for European Tour? I have tried searching for it without luck.

I agree, I was thinking -10 would be the cut but hey, first tournament on a tough course. I'll be back and hopefully a little more competitive.
Good luck to yourself and Kenny, I'll be following your scores!

Only got to -6 after two rounds. Simply didn't play well enough. Loved the course though. I think the fame and glamour got to my head this week! ha! -6 will be close. Current median score is -4 out of a field of 86 reported scores. If we end up with 140 reported scores, -7 or -8 could be the cut-off. But if only 120 people report by the cut deadline, -5 or -6 could be the cut-off as the top 70 will make cut and not simply half the field. We graduated about 113 people from CC, the vast majority of which I believe will play. But the rest of the field consists of mostly inactive web players from the first season. If only a dozen of this group plays, then -6 is surely a possibility. But then again, there are also the newly minted web.com players from q-school. Not sure how many of these there will be. But remember that the qualifications for q-school placement were relaxed a month or two ago. This could be a not insignificant group.

I love all of this hypothetical talk about a made up tournament and I'm not being sarcastic there. It just adds to it.
I was wrong with the promotion line from CC so I'm likely to be wrong here. Round 2 scores are likely to be less than round 1 too as the wind was up for a period.
