Another suggestion: As the Handicap might be a good way to make fair teams you could also get a good indication by having the first week be Q-School. Everyone could be required to play 2 courses and submit their scores and the final scores from Q-School gives each player a rank. Then just assemble fair teams based on the players ranks. Or the top 50% of the field become captains and in reverse order of finishing they get to draft their teammate. (Could be a disaster, but drafts are always exciting.) Just pitching some ideas. I'm interested regardless! The only thing that scares me of this is people sand bagging to get a better team. I'm not saying they would but it's the possibility. Or if someone good plays bad on the q school, then they might get accused of sand bagging. What about maybe taking their ranking on TGCT (if they play, I no longer do because I enjoy the societies more) and handicap into account? Not sure of the best way to rank people. Maybe have a few people collaborate for the pairings. Just throwing ideas out there.

If you go off people's handicap, rank them 1 through whatever, then seed them like the NCAAs. 1 gets paired with 16, 8 gets paired with 9, etc. (i know there will be more than 16 players - just doing that as an example). just spitballing...

Have a couple tourneys prior to set the standard and then either match them up or do the draft as suggested. Also, if you need a society on the ps4, I will have one free within the next couple of weeks. If you stick with the same course with 2 different pins and tees, it could then be run out of societies if you wanted, which would give Everyone on that system the same wind.

I'm Xbox Eric, but I appreciate the offer! I don't think I want to run it through a society. I don't even know how being a society president or administrator would work. I want to keep it manageable for me as I'm new to this. I don't want to be overwhelmed. Just want everyone to have a great time.

Just letting you know I'm not rolling with anything yet. Gotta get this figured out in my head and I'd really like more discussion about what others would like.

I'd be down for this. I love team format play. Only thing I'll warn you of is non-committals. They'll sign up and then ruin it for their partner. That's when the sh%$ hits the fan

I have no personal friends who have this game. The only people I've communicated with are all of you in the various community efforts and TGCT. So, I have no ability to recruit alternates, unless I set the league at 48-50 and then have an extra 10 players on as "alternates". I can tolerate some BS but I will handle it quickly and not look back.

I would be interested in playing in this if I would make the grade also. And any Xbox societies that come along with it!

Moneyman thank you for trying to get this league together and to who ever helps you that's awesome. If I were invited to join your league the only suggestion I have or opinion is when you run the league through the society way you never have to go through the process of finding the right course and you can also practice courses that are on the schedule weeks in advanced. There's no if you want to practice the round to make sure you change the format. Like in the Americas society it was stated that we have to change to stableford to practice. Now I've accidentally forgot this and used the score because in golf honesty and integrity is a big part of it. I just find it way easier the way Ninja had the Intrepid society setup as opposed to the America's. That's in no way taking a shot at Ninja by the way. I'm very thankful to whom ever is running one of these leagues. I know it's going to be your league so you'll run how you see fit and what's easiest for you. My father and I are both very new to this whole thing and really enjoyed playing these leagues. We both like the competitiveness as well. So if you need 2 players we would love to join. I really like the singles tournament idea inside of the team aspect as well. That way you can have a P.O.Y or maybe a FedEx Cup as well. That way if you lose as a team, you can still play the rest of the season having the team finals and the FedEx Cup ending on the same week. Lastly if you give people 1 Week to have their scores turned in that is plenty of time. Anyone who doesn't have it turned in will automatically forfeit. Just like on PGA for turning in a wrong scorecard. Anyone who can't play 2 rounds in a week you probably don't want them in the league any way. Those are just my thoughts. You asked so I figured I give you an opinion from a noob. Lol. By the way if the handicaps are close would it be possible to stay partners with my dad? That's even if you invite us. Either way we would still play if we got split up. Thanks for your time.
