Took my first 12 on a hole at Devon... it was glorious.
It was the huge dogleg downhill par 5. My tee shot got kicked into the rough by the fairway (unfair!), and I don't use scout cam (set to green only, or whatever it's called), so I had to rely on the overhead cam where the layup fairway was cut off. Essentially I had no idea how far anything was except for the green.
I played a shot aimed at about midway down the layup fairway. Here's where I should mention that I also turn off the follow cam, and I manually switch to the cinematic landing cam. My first attempt landed deep in the desert and OB. From the angle of the camera, for some reason I thought I had airmailed the fairway and was on the far side, so I aimed more towards the green on my next shot. It wasn't until after my 3rd OB shot that it dawned on me that I should use the follow cam to see where I'm actually going. It turns out I was coming up woefully short of the fairway. In total I think I put 5 OB, maybe 6.
I also had a triple on the first hole, so I was +10 on two holes and -5 on the rest of the course.
Don't mean to bury it in this post, but I added two more events for next week:
Sep 5-6: Cloudcrest CC Sep 7-8: Chatwood Hills

CLV, would love for you to take a peek or have the society play at my new CC Contest course, The Sleeping Giant. Certainly won't take a 12 there, I promise :-D

Certainly won't take a 12 there, I promise :-D That one is on my list, if another society of mine doesn't add it before then. Overall update, I went ahead and added the first major of the season. It starts Saturday the 9th and runs for 7 days. 4 rounds from the tips at Crooked Stick, with a 1000 coin bonus added for the event. After that there will be two more regular events, and then another longer event to encompass my time gone on vacation.

I'm genuinely curious about what people found so challenging about Chartwood? Seeing some very high scores from some very good players. Was there a trap hole somewhere?

I needed an eagle hole out to get to -5. Maybe a trap hole, although I didn't come across it. I did find it to be a relatively challenging course just because it doesn't seem to give you any free strokes, so to speak.

Not to give away my review, but I thought it was extremely narrow on a lot of holes, but too long to play a lay up. The 8th was a perfect example, where you have to squeeze a drive into a small opening. I wanted to play short of it with a 3 wood, but the green was over water and really shallow, so I had no choice. The greens were also pretty tricky to me.

The greens were crazy tough and I putted terribly, but overall just played bad... I tend to relax a bit in society events and not take my time. Wasn't surprised to see the pins were on set 3. -5 was good shooting ð

The Crooked Stick major event should be wrapping up tomorrow I think. I went ahead and added 2 rounds at Whistling Straits to cover the time period that I will be gone. For next week I've added two more one-rounders at Cape Kidnappers and at Yeltzman's Turnberry.
After those events wrap I'll probably reevaluate things. NBA 2k drops tonight, so I'll probably be investing my time in that for at least a few weeks. General long-term trend, though, is I might be cutting back on TGC2 time to force myself to focus on taking actionable steps to improve my career prospects.
This, that, or the other, I'll definitely keep everyone in the loop.

Had a 4-putt triple bogey on 14 today. The second putt was from 6 feet. The third putt was from 4 feet. Had 7 birdies and shot a 70.

A pair of 490 yard par 4s with double digit headwinds is a hell of a way to end a round.

Shot really well on the latest one, hit an eagle, then followed that up with a hole in one, finished -14, was rockin it.

theclv24 any updates here? Have you decided to move on, or just taking a break...or have I missed some other update somewhere and am asking this question like an uninformed jackass?

Think this society is another one that bit the dust. Will the PC ever get a quality long term one (as Hershey was becoming) to stay the course? B.Smooth13, i think its time you started one...
