So, almost a year later are there any updated impressions? Still as cool as it was day 1? Sitting around collecting dust? It's currently $150 off here($399.99 sale price) and my wife is tempting me with it for some reason. Leaves me debating if this is really something I want or if it's just a novelty item and I should just break out my old Virtual Boy instead.

I've actually started using it a bit more of late. Sometimes I think, I'd like to play some VR, but I have to swap a couple of cables over (I think that you only need to do this if you have a Pro and you want to play in 4k when not using VR) unbox the headset etc. So I think, sod it I'll load the golf up There's a big summer sale on in the store atm so I've picked up a couple of games that I probably wouldn't have payed full price for, I might get a couple more? The stand out so far is Statik. A strange puzzle game where you're tied to a chair in some sort of futuristic lab/bunker and have both of your hands locked inside a strange mechanical box. By tilting it and spinning it round, you notice that you can manipulate certain things by using your DS4's buttons. Pretty cool when you finally work out what to do. At times your just looking at it, thinking WTH do I do here? I've pre ordered Skyrim VR, that's a game I've always wanted to complete, but I've only gotten a few hours into it a couple of times. Surely the VR version will have me more immersed in that world and I'll give it my full attention. Pre ordered GT Sport too, I'm not sure how much of it you can play in VR? But the game looks like it should be good anyway. Resident Evil 7 was totally mind blowing and absolutely terryfying! That has to be the best game that I've played so far on PSVR. There are times playing that, you just don't want to go down some stairs, or through a door because the fear can be so intense at times. I'd love to play Alien: Isolation on PSVR, but I don't think that's happening? Although I'd imagine that would be scarier than RE7. Without VR that game is so scary, so I'd imagine it could be a little too much? So definitely not gathering dust for me. But I have to be in the mood to set it up, even though it only takes a few seconds!

Couldn't agree more.
I've only played 2-3 VR games so far (I don't have it myself, but my cousin does), and RE7 was one of them. The experience is just so intense, so you almost sh%$ your pants when turning around the next corner.
Absolutely brilliant (VR) game!

It would be nice to have a fun RE experience again since it was the main series that won me over to Playstation back in the day. However, massively against popular opinion I have still to this day never completed RE4 and the series lost me there.

I heard RE7 is pretty much unplayable as it scares the crap out of you. It looks amazing though. I've seen the vids on youtube. I'd love to see my girlfriend play it, could imagine the screams 😂 she can't even watch me play the last of us 😂 tis a great way to get rid of her

It's considered a classic among many, but not for me. Resident Evil was all about the claustrophobic tight spaces, puzzle solving and fear for me. RE4 was just a horde/set piece shooter in my experience with it. The fact that you were unable to move while shooting was fine in the first three games, but if you're gonna go with more of a shoot em up style of game, you really need to be able to move around while shooting.

Still very little in gaming that has got the blood pumping as much as hearing Nemesis yelling "STARS" throughout RE3. And as usual, I caved on the impulses and have a PS VR sitting in its' box beside me.

Just "playing" the 3 or 4 minute long Kitchen demo on the demo disc creeped me out enough to think I may not risk getting RE7. Driveclub was kind of making my head feel woozy but other then that I haven't barfed yet, but I'm only playing in small chunks right now. Pretty cool though.

I probably wouldn't play $27 for it.
I payed £9.99 just a few days ago. Which is about $13.
Has the summer sale finished now? Or was that just a Playstation EU store thing?

I'll probably be getting one of these when Gran Turismo is released.... racing is the "killer app" for VR imo. Not really been sold on it for general gaming - gets a bit hot and sweaty and my stomach can take a turn on the hectic ones... I know they said that not all of the GT Sport will be VR compatible - but does anyone know how much is going to be yet? If the tests are in VR, then I'm set - love getting me 100% golds...

EU and NA sales are usually different. I'd be fine paying $15ish for it but it looks short both in length and replay value for any more than that.

At least there's a lot of demo's to play. Been trying a bit of everything today. Feels like I'm adjusting to it as queasiness has been pretty much limited to the Star Wars VR mission included with Battlefront. Problem is after playing for a bit and then switching to the PS4 web browser it feels like the screen is popping out at me for a couple minutes and I want to move the cursor on screen either using my head or moving the controller.
Statik was definitely a fun demo and I quite enjoyed Tethered as well. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes sounds like fun but no demo and I'd need to convince my wife to play. Still some more stuff to play on the demo disc but thus far Race the Sun and Hyper Void are the only full games I have since they were previously free on Plus. Best Buy had a display box out for Robinson The Journey on clearance for $30 so I was going to get that but they were actually out of stock. See what tomorrow's sale brings and hopefully I'll buy some stuff.
VR Youtube is kinda cool but the grainy picture quality really kills the majority of the point in having VR videos.

Not sure if it's a bad idea to play while tired after work or if Rigs is just that bad because I had to quit after a couple minutes of that as my head was swimming like crazy. Sadly nothing but VR Ping Pong on sale this week so I may wait another week before buying a game. Or I may go ahead and get Super Stardust since I know I like that and basically anything else Housemarque has put out.
