Pardon my interruption, as it would seem like this is a discussion mostly for the folks in Pro/Euro. But from where I stand in CC-B...if this is what folks must contend with at that level, I will just be very happy to stay in CC.
I practice for my tours, a lot! Not by studying ghosts, steam, making notes, etc., just trying to hone my skills and learn from mistakes when it doesn't matter. Oh, and I generally play tour rounds on Sunday/Monday. Ghosts are there but I play with the ones dealt by the game and never look at their replays. Only time I use them at all is to get an idea of rollout using the scout cam...I don't even zoom in to do that. I love the game, the TGCTours, etc. Most fun I have had with gaming in years.
And I am happy to do what I do. Otherwise, ghosts cause more problems than not in my opinion. They make you second guess your instincts and try to change your playing style to fit somebody elses...
There are so many advantages to be had in this game, from "not in the spirit of the game" items, to downright cheats... but it taks all the fun out of it. So the way I look at it if someone wants to use all those advantages (not cheats) and it takes 90 minutes to play one round because they have to review ghosts, look at notebooks, steam replays and charts, so be it. But how in the heck is that fun? Just so you can say I am in the top 10 or 100 in WGR? I would rather be #250 (I wish LOL) and enjoy myself and ignore all the blah blah...

Accusations against that member because he used to be on my friends list until I came to find that he was using ghosts(he admitted to me). No I do not comprehend the view that it isn't an advantage. Wouldn't have started this if otherwise. Boom boom all you do is insult buddy. No substantive posts in this entire thread from you. Ultimately I am the minority in this discussion so I doubt anything will change. Which is unfortunate. And we'll just keep on going along with the way things are now. I and I suspect a few others absolutely agree with ur point on ghost balls and waiting n stuff like that. Ur way of explainin that has put a few ppls nose out of joint (not mine). There are many things about TGCTours that i wud like to see change but fact is it wont change. At least not until TGC 2 comes out. We'll just have to get on with it until then and see what cards we get dealt. Finally, anyone claimin that theres no advantage to playin with ghosts are either naive or disingenuious. Are the people who use them and other cheap advantage plays cheating? NO. Are they desperate to do well at a video game competition? YES, probably to an unhealthy level. |

Sweeney is always done by Monday Night and wins 90% of the tournaments he plays in. Boomer plays early - has 2 or 3 wins this season. Tyler Duke always plays early. The one tournament I was lucky enough to win I was done by the early hours of the first Sunday. You are coming across as a guy who reached a certain level, couldn't get any better, got frustrated, and rather than trying to improve, decided that everyone else must be cheating  |

If it's not against the rules of TGC, it's not cheating. That simple. Want the rules to change, fine. But you can't call what you want to change cheating. One could argue that even though it's not against the rules, it's not in the spirit of golf and if it's not in the spirit of golf then it could be considered a rules violation. Now... I'm not saying this is the case and that officials would interpret things as such since its in the game for everyone to use, no possibility to restrict and no way to police. I'm just saying one could argue the case. Sorry for adding the fuel. I still think tee times are ridiculous and I don't see this whole ghost thing as a problem. I do however think not using ghosts or using them turn-based is a more honorable way to go about things. I would even agree it's against the spirit of golf; but in TGC it's technically not a rules violation, thus not cheating. Basically, you're not a cheater, but you're the equivalent of Rosie O'Donnell's panty liner if you do it. |

Good game members good game Disagree with, those who play early remain winless I play my tournaments sunday but I have also won tournaments when I have played Saturday also smurf played the 1st two rounds of last weeks tournament Saturday and finished joint 1st but 1st on ps4 where everyone had his ghost to use if they wanted.
i am defiantly not pro ghosts as i have said before i would rather they took them off, i just don't think it would be a drastic change to the wgr i have watched griffin stream the masters with no ghosts and he played extremely well its his putting that makes him good not watching ghosts, also i have played with most of top 10 that are on ps4 and they play really well with no ghosts.

Nobody sensible would claim that ghosts don't provide a small advantage. Of course they do, but the idea that ghosts can make an average player beat a good one over 72 holes is plain stupid.
The best players win because they are the best players. Ghosts or not |

I have taken notice of everyone who plays pga on xbox. I've been here since the beginning. I know who is legit and who isn't. I've played live vs doubtful, Jules, and others on xb. Beat them all. Some beat me.

Has this thread run its course yet? I think we almost all cam agree thats set tee times doesn't work for practical reasons, and arguing about ghosts is like pissing in the wind to get anyone to change their mind.
