Thanks guys for all the tips! And thanks again Wags for setting up the practice tourney for the week. You're a very helpful asset around here. It's appreciated.

Heya wags I'm a bit confused by this.when the blue arrow comes in at the end is the idea to get the grid line level with the bottom of the screen/monitor yeah?thanks The idea is to get the line that the arrow is pointing to, to look straight with no jagged lines in it. Sorry I can't explain it better than that. I could try to do a video with narration but I'm not sure that would help any better. Im looking and looking and looking on the lines to golfers feet, but I don't see jagged lines...maybe it's because im on the PS4?

I'm on the PS4 as well and it is difficult to see when the line is straight. I've experimented with this method a little bit and I usually just try and use it as a gauge. I look at the break, move my aiming point to where I want to hit the putt, then move it to the other side of the hole and see if the line is straight. If it appears to be straight, then I'll move it back and putt it. If it's still really jagged then I'll adjust and start over. I think I like wags mathematical way a little better, but I try to incorporate both.

I find it hard to see if the line is straight on PS4 and I have a 43inch Smart HD Samsung TV, so thats not the problem. PC version is much way better then console version anyway and thats a shame.

Hey guys, I'm new around the forums and have only been playing tourneys here for just a few weeks, but here's what works for me fairly consistently: Using BoomBoom's method, set your putting distance and move the marker to where you think the line is straight, push Triangle (PS4, don't know what button on other systems) where it gives you the overhead view. Pull straight down on the right stick so that you are viewing directly behind the putter at ground level. Now push forward slowly and look at the first grid line in relation to the bottom of your TV/Monitor. If it is flush with the bottom of your TV then you have moved the marker to the right spot. Now.... continue to move forward and look to see if all the other lines between the golfer and the hole are also straight. If you have a consistent break all lines should be fairly straight. When the break is inconsistent (ie- different speeds on the drips) you will notice some of the lines are breaking more or less than the one right in front of you. This is where it gets tricky and you then have to adjust further to account for the other lines that are not straight. When you have really long putts it becomes a bit more difficult to determine line by line if it's straight because of the distance. BoomBoom's tip is really a fantastic one. It has really improved my game, but it takes a lot of fine tuning and experience to get it down because as he said the method gives you an approximate starting line. Further adjustments may be needed depending on breaks. I'm not a super player by any stretch, but I have improved immensely between my first and last tourney due mainly to this tip. Cheers! edited for formatting

I think in my first two rounds I didn't mind driving it in the rough and pitching way uphill from there as the hole locations were OK and the greens were soft.
On rounds 3 and 4 I believe I hit a 3 iron in the fairway followed by a pitching wedge. On the firm greens that might have been the best play so I agree with you.

boomboom what exactly should my practice routine be on a daily basis? I'm trying to design one but don't know where to start. I do have a business to run and only have so many hours in the day for golf so I want to make the most efficient use of my time. What do you suggest? I'll follow it to the letter. Promise. I can spare about an hour a day except on tourney days where it takes me about 2 hours to get through my 4 rounds. Thanks.

Nail down your distances and figure out the wind first.
