Round 1 - Mount Yeti
What was the highlight of your round? Wasn't really a highlight but being able to grind out a -7 after missing a lot of putts to start the round. I was putting the ball too far away to give myself decent chances.
What was the low-light of your round? Like i said above, not giving myself enough genuine birdie chances although i don't expect it all the time.
What did you think of the course? Loved the course, played it in 6-15mph winds and it took nothing away from the experience. True test of skill.
How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat? -7 is a pretty decent score in my opinion but im capable of more, i know i am. Being somewhere near the top is always my goal and have put in a solid entry.

Round 2 - Whispering River
What was the highlight of your round? Everything was a highlight. The best round i have ever played on TGC and everything seemed to be going right, especially the putter which was red hot.
What was the low-light of your round? Not many low lights but did miss a short putt i think which could of made my score even better.
What did you think of the course? Always liked Whispering River. Scored pretty well on it before so i knew i had good memories.
How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat? Managed to shoot 57 (-15) mainly because of the flatstick. I wasn't really trying to beat anyone, just trying to shoot the best score i could.

Stage 5 Kodiak (65)
•What was the highlight of your round/tournament?
Nothing remarkable to speak about.
•What was the low-light of your round/tournament?
Putter was fairly cold
•What did you think of the course?
Maybe the course, maybe the committee that set the pins, my feelings will be reflected in the tip I leave. Someone please tell the pin committee, they are free to use the whole green. They need not just find a downslope on the front of the green and set the pin there.
•How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat?
This was another like Yeti I was trying to not beat myself, fairly certain I will drop a few slots now.
Are you still on your game plan?
Yes, rock solidly I will add, I won't win this thing, I don't need to, but I wont lose it either, against this field, I will be ecstatic with a top 10.

Stage 6 Crawford Mines (61)
•What was the highlight of your round/tournament?
The finishing holes turned a slow start into a great round.
•What was the low-light of your round/tournament?
Bogie on 7, just a poor pitch and a bad putt.
•What did you think of the course?
Another great course with great conditions, played the whole way with 6 - 12 winds, I just wanted this over with and strike while the iron is hot. 6 rounds in 1 day is a lot for me, a grind, I'm exhausted.
•How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat?
Ranger was going low, I was watching his score after every hole and the chase was on.
Are you still on your game plan?
Yes, I did exactly what I set out to do, careful play resulted in few bogies. A total -55 for the school, a clear 7 shots better than my best, with the nerves and the fear of blowing up, I'm off to relax now. I will not win, I'm sitting on top for the moment, but there were only 6 players on the board and the field is aplenty with great players.
I special thank you goes out to the Tournament Director Scott, and the organizers of this tour, the anticipation of this was tremendous, the course selection stellar, the cart girls were beautiful as well. Thank you, job well done. I need to rest now.

Round 1 - Q - School - Mount Yeti
What was the highlight of your round today? "After a birdie on the 1st and then I dropped a few shots coming into the 9th at +2. An 11 yard hole out on the 9th from just of the green instilled some confidence for the second nine"
Any shots you would like to have back this round? "A couple of lagged putts really, there were the difference for me today, I couldn't get the putter firing"
How do you feel about your +3 today? "It's obviously not how I wanted the first round to play out, I set a goal of even par and didn't achieve it today"
What did you think of the course? "The course is in great condition, the green keepers have done an outstanding job to get it ready for us."

From the desk of the publicist of Steve2golf. We regret to inform you, after reading the following tgctours.proboards.com/thread/720/school-open?page=3 Steve suffered a mild heart attack. He is resting comfortably and has been prescribed Glenfiddich. He will not be playing any tour events for 2 weeks.

Rob Foyster tee'd off his tour a short while ago after 3 practice rounds. He shot -2, -4, -2 respectively in his practice attempts at Mount Yeti which gave him an indication of which holes to favour. He has now followed this up with a respectable -5 in the main tour attempt which sees him currently T53. The first 3 holes of each one of the 4 rounds went Birdie, Par, Par and so 3 holes in he knew he was matching what he expected. This however could not prepare him for the birdies on Holes 6 and 8 to come, neither of which he had managed a birdie previously. This -5 on the front 9 however was the peak as a disappointing back 9 saw him pick up a first ever bogey on holes 10 and 14.
Overall Rob is said to be pleased with his opening tour round and feels if he can maintain this sort of form, he should be ok for that elusive PGA tour card

What do you think of the tournament set up, so far ?
Excellent, excellent, excellent !! has me buzzing about The Golf Club.
This was badly needed to introduce that competitive edge which was lacking.
Well done to those involved in organising and running this aspect of the game.
Many thanks,
Brendan.

Round 1 What was the highlight of your round/tournament? There were no highlights. What was the low-light of your round/tournament? Three straight bogies. What did you think of the course? Great course. How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat? Shot a very disappointing 68. I was trying to shoot at least a 64.

You've got lots of holes to rebound from that.

Round 1 Mt Yeti - 70
What was the highlight of your round/tournament? I think the thing that stands out the most was the wind. Gusting 16-18 mph....really made it challenging! I was striking the ball very well but with the wind I just couldn't get my approach shots close. That and a cold putter made for a somewhat disappointing start.
What was the low-light of your round/tournament? Had to be the 3 putt on #8. Had a very makable 8 foot birdie putt and somehow blew it 19 feet past! 3 putt bogey...
What did you think of the course? Love the course....very challenging but fair. Hated the wind though....
How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat? I was just trying to stay in the top 20%....failed on that but feel like the way I was striking the ball I can make up loss ground.
Why is your hair sticking straight up?? Did I mention it was windy??

The abundance of missed putts in the front nine. What did you think of the course? Great. How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat? 10th (-8)Could have easily shot -12

Round 3 @ Copper Creek- Shot a 61 (-10)
*Nice round again after a disappointing finish at Whispering River...how did you turn it around? First off I want to thank TGCTours for hosting this wonderful event, none of this would be possible without your hard work and dedication. Back to Whispering River...I was mostly focused on keeping my composure during those strong winds. My hat flew off on the 4th and I had to send my caddy to retrieve it. It was a struggle trying to hit the ball close to those pins...I actually putted great, but just couldn't manage the wind. Out here today at Copper Creek the winds were pretty mild, so I was pretty confident picking the right club and my aiming point. Plus last night I had a little tryst with some TGC groupies...kept my mind off golf for a few minutes. •What was the low-light of your round/tournament?
I still missed the fairway off the tee on 8. At least it was in the rough this time instead of the bunker or the lake. Also my chip on 2 hit the back of the cup and spun out. A birdie there would be 1+ shot on the field for sure.
•What was the highlight of your round/tournament? Holing out my 80yd pitch on the 7th for sure. I've been missing that hole to the right which is a big no-no and led to a few disappointing pars. That's a birdie hole, and made up for past poor play with that eagle. •What did you think of the course?
This new version of the course played great. So much better than it played during the PGA Tour. It's probably my favorite of the 6 courses in this tournament. Can't wait for future tournaments here.
*Thanks for the time and good luck at Son Gual...I know you've said that course is your archenemy in the past. Yeah, now that I've played it a few times it has grown on me. I'm expecting a decent score out there this time through. Thanks!

Well after collapsing in the locker room wendy has posted -47 after her 6 rounds and she looks beat!. Was fun but a double on 17 at Crawford has left a bitter taste in her mouth, time for a pint of guiness one thinks..
WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR TOURNAMENT Shooting pbs on a couple of courses
WHAT WAS THE LOWLIGHT Double on 17, got stuck on the slope in front of green and couldn't hit the bloody thing
WHAT DID YOU THINK OF COURSES Very challenging but enjoyable
Good luck to everyone!
