the journo with the charming smile ducks into the tool shed a few hundred yards from the club house - carrying 4 beers in her soft hands
Hello?....
Hello?....
I brought beer!
shhh! Oh, its you, hi. Thought it was Pete, thanks for the beer. Are the cops still here?
Yeah, I think so, why, are you hiding from them? And who is Pete?
I killed a bunny. 4th at Kodiak. Dumped my first tee shot in the water on the left - did you know there is water there - never mind, reloaded, creamed my 3rd straight down the fairway, thinking why did i not hit it like this in the first place and then noticed the ball bouncing and rolling, bee-lining straight for this bunny on the fairway. Just my ruddy luck. Gonna be stymied playing my 4th.
Hit that carrot muncher mid-ships, he went down like a sack of errrr, golf bags on a wobbly cart. Fortunately my ball ended up in the clear. Bunny lying spread eagled I gave it a poke or two with my 7 iron, no luck, he didn't even flinch.
Caddy and I were still debating on whether this was a movable obstruction when this old hag came storming up to me. "I saw that!" she screamed. Whacked me a few times over the head with her umbrella, even got poked a coupla times in the ribs too. Next moment she stormed off shouting she knows people and said something about calling this Pete or Peter dude and they will see to that I got ..(i guess you can't print that)
Pete? Ahhh, she probably meant PETA
Yeah, Pete/Peter I said so didn't I? Anyways, got back to the club house, heard the sirens and the commotion and been hiding away here ever since.
But that happened 3 days ago - you've been here all the time?
nah, I checked out the cops' schedule, they have a shift change around 6 in the morning, gives one an hour to play with - so this morning I slipped out, quickly finished my last round at the Mines and rushed back here before the cops came back.
How did THAT go?
pfffft, dropped 6 shots on the trot from 5th to the 9th, pulled it back to 74. Plus 32 overall. i guess top 50% on Champions Tour beats bottom 50% on Web tour anytime!
You're weird, any parting comments?
A birdie told me the wind is gonna blow gale force from now until q-school closes. I can hope, can't I?
Good luck out there.
Thanks, can you maybe bring me some lunch?
If you see Tim out there somewhere, tell him I say a big thanks to him and his team for setting this thing up!

Arriving to the press tent.....David Brown
Mr. Brown, didn't we see you here about a week ago? True. I completed my Q-school with a solid 66 here at Crawford, finishing at -33 for the tour within the top 40....but....
But....? Well when the final scores were revealed today I noticed my Crawford round was not posted. I phoned the official scorers and then said no score card was turned in.
So, easy...just turn it in. Not so easy. See I'd flown back to south Florida and couldn't find the official card, which as you know if not turned in results in a DQ. So I jumped on a plane, (not easy this time of year) and flew back to Crawford Mines. After some back tracking to the course and hotel with no luck finding the card, I recreated the pub crawl many players went on after the tour. Turns out the last place (a dive we hit at 3 am) hadn't done much business and I was able to scour through the old trash. At the very bottom was the scorecard. Not in pristine condition, but still legible and signed. Back to Crawford where I just turned in the score. Only comment was the scorers saying it was the worst smelling card they had ever received and that I was fortunate that the TGC Tours has not yet completed the "conditIon of scorecard at completion of round" sectIon of their policies.
So what is your word of advice to your fellow tour members? Easy. Before hitting the 19th hole, turn in your card. If you are late in doing so, don't set your card on the bar and whatever you do, don't spill adult beverages or bodily fluids on the card. The scorers won't appreciate it and sanctions will be in store for the tours.

Round 5 - Kodiak - 70 (-2)
You've had a 4 day gap since your last round, everything ok? Physically, yes. Mentally, no. After my first over par round at Son Gual I started doubting myself and with all the buzz about Kodiak I wanted to see how everyone was faring there first. Probably not a good idea as overall the scores seemed decent and it put even more pressure on me to perform.
So, how was it out there today? Just like my previous round I started off bogey-bogey and it was looking pretty bleak.
Surely there were some highlights as your 2 under indicates? You bet! I managed a birdie on the 2nd par 5 and then on the 9th I got my first flop in for birdie. Followed it up with another flop for birdie and it wasn't long that I was looking at -4 and feeling very confident. 2 more bogeys didn't bother me a bit as I was thrilled to have tamed the bear by my standards.
You have 1 round to go and at -14 you are in great shape to earn a Tour card. I'd like to think I am though Crawford Mines is a completely unknown course to me so I will keep cautious and only take what the course will give. Avoid the water and keep lagging putts and all I am eyeing is staying above the cut line.

Now that you've completed Q-School, how do you feel about your performance?
My goal from the beginning was to try and shoot 6 rounds in the 60's. Based on how tough these courses are, I felt that would be a good accomplishment, and would put me in a good position to get on either the PGA or European Tour. I was able to do that, so I'm pretty happy with the outcome. However, looking back, I definitely feel I could have gone a little lower. I finished at -21, but I think I could've gotten to about -30 or -35. Putting was a little inconsistent.
What was the high point of your Q-School experience?
I shot a -7 on Son Gual. That course has always been tough for me. Shooting a -7 under this type of pressure felt great.
And the low point?
Had a -4 going into the 15th at Crawford Mines. Was hoping to coast to the end and at least hold that score. I hit a perfect drive at 15, was in beautiful position to get it close on approach at best, and safely in range for a 2-putt par at worse. I didn't get it clean. Came up about a few yards short and went in the water. Managing to make bogey was somewhat of a boost, but I have to hit that shot. I then followed it up by bogeying the tough par 3 17th. Really pissed me off dropping those 2 shots.
What are your goals once you get out on tour?
Goal #1 is to continue to try and get better. I feel that I can be a good player consistently. I just need to get more consistent with my putting, as well as more consistent around the green. I also want to compete and see how I stack up against the best. If I play the type of golf I believe I'm capable of, I should be in the thick of things.
Thanks for the time.
Not a problem.

After finally being hauled into the press tent after successfully managing to avoid questions all week, Simon Walker sits down for a chat.
Do we smell Simon, or are you just antisocial? You've ignored us for 2 weeks!
Sorry guys, I'm not used to this kinda coverage when I play. But to be honest with you I've been pretty embarrassed of my performance over the last 2 weeks. After starting Yeti with a lovely 60, its been all downhill from there. Kinda like David Duvals career.
So you finished up on -22, should be good enough for a Tour Card?
Yeah the main thing was getting it done out there this week. I've done enough to get on the tour which is the main thing, but I wanted to really be in the top 20. I know I can shoot very low when things click. Its always nice to throw a warning shot out to the top guys. Unfortunately mine was more like a fart in the wind.
You're clearly disappointed, what are your goals for the main season?
Aim high, shoot low! That's my thinking going into the tour. Il be strutting my stuff on the Euros and I know there's some very good players over there from my time playing on the LGGT, so I'll have to be at my best to compete. I should probably practice more but I like to think of myself as more of a Happy Gilmore type player. Go home ball, why don't you just GO HOME?
Erm ok thanks Simon, we'll catch up with you soon.... *mutters* -psycho

Round 6 - Crawford Mines - 62 (-9)
Whoa there Freddy, what's up with that score you posted in the final round?!? By a good margin my best round of the tournament and certainly my best ever on a tournament-difficult course. My original goal was to just finish under par so going in with a 14 stroke buffer I was able to play much looser and just enjoy the scenery.
Surely a round like that has a highlight or 2? I think I only missed one fairway as winds were reasonable at 4-10mph but the real highlight was that my flatstick was absolutely on fire. I sunk 3 huge benders from 15-25 feet that I had no intentions of making. If I can keep my putter working for me like I did out there today I might be able to give the big dogs a run for their money on occasion.
What's next? It was a big relief to get all my rounds in and ending on such a high note has me really excited to join the Tour after the break. I am sitting at 80th overall and 20th on the XBox One and now have a few weeks to fine tune my game and spend time with family and friends. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to all the TGCT staff, Q-School has made the game fun to play, the banter has been great, and all the stats and reports enlightening. Cheers!

With Q-school behind you now, what do you think of your overall performance? I guess I am happy considering my layoff. Didn't expect to be one of the top players, but probably could have shot 3-4 stokes better on most of the courses.
You finished at 4 under for the tour, but you were close to ending up outside the 250, what happened? I was -2 coming into Crawford Mines and my main goal was shoot even to be safe. After 12 holes I was 2 over and another bogey could place me outside of the PGA/Euro card.
My caddy slipped me a lighter and special tee. Came back 5 minutes later and hit the last 6 holes. Ended up with birdies on 5 of the 6 holes(bogey on the 16th) and finished up 2 under(-4 overall). Not something I would normally do playing a round, but did work for a birdie rampage and saved me.
What was the low-light of Q-School? Just some of the decisions I made. With my skills a bit rusty I tried some things instead of playing safe.
What did you think of the courses? They are some great looking courses. I do like a challenge. Most of them though had a few holes that were just too punishing on mistakes.
There also were holes that made no sense. Had a few shots that landed right and the only way to stop them was holing out. You shouldn't just miss a hole in one with a slow roll, then go down the green and stop 50-60 feet away. Purposely designed so it stays on the green and makes an uphill putt that turns a birdie chance into a bogey scramble.

Are you ready?
hell yes
You think you got a shot at the title?
na, but as long as i kick iChaoz's ass I will be happy! (was going with thrangar, but the poor bastard didnt make it?)
Who do you have your money on to win the TOC?
Well, didnt have much money to begin with, so i put it on 30th place, the odds were highest and the return was good, maybe i should have reconsidered?
Who is better, Tiger Woods or Barrack Obama?
Tiger would be better at everything, even Daily could have done a better job.
Huh?
Nevermind.
