one other thing. The voice actor for Preston is mediocre at best. Bleh... I was thinking the same and then... I realized it was the animations that didnt fit the voice. No discredit to the voice actor.

yeah I'm going to just go ahead and say both are bad. He sounds bored most of the time. It's like the guy was trying really hard to not sound TOO excited at any point.
it's totally possible to go overboard with your voice over but he's gone so far the other way that it's hurt the performance.
I'll tell you who did a good job so far is the Paladin you meet at that police station. If you haven't meet him yet that guy does a really good job.

After going straight from Witcher to Fallout you realize how great the voice acting in the Witcher really is.

This game is too much. Never been much of a gamer, never really put any time into a game like this, had no idea what to expect, but I'm bloody addicted. It seems like its content overload. Barely scratched the surface of the main quests, just keep exploring, find a place, wind up with a side quest that takes up an hour or two, then move on. I've barely even visited the lower half of the map. Only been down south a couple times. I've accepted Preston's meet at the castle days ago but have not made it there. I'm up to nearly 50 hours and only level 20 and feel like there is 75% of the game yet to do.

I've kind of avoided the castle due to it's name I figured it will be a tough one and definitely not equipped yet. Been trying to level up to 25 so I can get gun nut 3 perk along with some other perks. Just make sure your well equipped for the castle siege. No idea how to multi quote here so just improvising a bit lol canthitstraight I've looked at Skyrim a bit but not sure of that, I like gun play as combat and it seems Skyrim is more fantasy type weapons? For sure F3 and New Vegas are on my radar for the future, I can see me getting those. But my time is going to be sucked away from this golf game I play, its been a while since I've played it, cant even remember the name, thinks its something like The Anthony McIiroy Golf Club or something. And there is this awesome site that is independent of the game but they run these weekly tours based off the real PGA Tour, its run by these two guys Steve Darben and Jim Oliver, (it's been so long I may getting these names wrong) and some other great staff. I know I have to put Fallout away this weekend to play my rounds in the golf game though...if only I can remember the names correctly. <-- of course I'm talking about TGC and TGC Tours lol

I accidentally shot my drinking buddy in the ass and he died.
I should leave this post as it is to keep you guys wondering if I'm confessing some crime. But
I came across this side quest of a side quest so to speak where there is this protector robot converted to a drinking buddy. I had 2 options, keep it for myself or return it to a hotel. I decided to return it, well trouble is we are wandering down the alleys of East Boston and this thing is taking forever. I let him get way ahead then I walk to catch up, I'm starting to get bored so I start clicking buttons to fill the time. He is about half a block ahead of me, I tap the trigger ONCE and I hit him in the ass and he drops. (regrets all those perks put into guns now, my 10mm auto pistol is badass now lol). He is dead. So I go away, come back later and there he is, still face down in the dirt.
So now I am left with a quest I can't finish. Any of you Fallout veterans do something stupid like that and recover, via a console command or something. Having that unfinished quest in my Pip-Boy is driving me nuts lol
Good thing I wasn't carrying my .50 rifle I would have blown him to smithereens lol

That would have been agonizing to have actually followed him!

I should have just let him go, but I was afraid he would get shot up (well he did lol) or stumble away drunk. Sad thing is, we were almost there. I see through googling that in F3 and NV you could reset some quests using a console command, but I think I'll just leave him be. I'm 60 hours in and level 28, I don't want to go screwing up my saves or something. Though I am having an urge to start over now I know how to play the game, but I still have yet to even do or see the Castle Quest that I accepted a week or so ago. I finally just went into Diamond City last night for the first time. Saw this on one of the Fallout forums and it just about sums me up

Yeah, that's totally me. I get so easily sidetracked and next thing I know I've played for four hours. I need to cast Strong far far away as well... I don't want to hear about how inferior I am to Super Mutants...

Did I just screw up? I've been holding off the major quests for a while. I finally did the castle then my next one that popped up was Freedom Trail, did that, found the railroad, did a mission with Deacon (?) to get a prototype thing from the synths and bring it back to whatsherface at the railroad. All the dialog options steered me towards joining them. Was left with no choice. I didn't wan't to as I have been wanting to ally with the Minutemen, my whole progression has been doing things that Lazy Ass Preston asks. Did I just screw myself out of allying with the Minutemen? And I'll leave this here, now I'm filling my SSD with screenshots lol. My little take on Machine Gun Jack McGurn (from the Capone era), with hippy hair lol

Nah you are fine. You can do missions for all the factions until you reach a certain point where you have to choose. I am currently doing missions for 3 factions at the same time...still haven't found the 4th...and I haven't reached a point where I am locked out of a quest.
