I was off work yesterday and probably played about 7-8 hours total. Probably spent about 2.5 of that scrapping, building, trying to figure out what I was doing in Sanctuary. Spent a bunch more on the Freedom Trail. Few things satisfy me more than hacking into a terminal and getting the Protectron robots to clear out Faneuil Hall of Super Mutants

Ammo preservation has always been key in fallout games; you just can't auto-fire every thing out there. Make sure to use VATS extensively to make better use of your available ammo. If you're still having problems with dying to everything, turn down the difficulty until you have a better foothold of the game. Try this for hints on lock picking:

If you make it to the museum down in the basement there is a computer terminal, crack the password, move into the caged room on the left and grab a power Armour core Here is a link also about where to find the Power Armor edited to add, after reading my one link I found this ( I had no idea there was cave below the rocket lol, just found this out.) "The first core is hidden in this cave directly beneath the Red Rocket outside Sanctuary. The cave is protected by Molerats. You’ll find the core on the rightmost of the three branches after entering the cave, on the floor next to the ruined reactor. Grab it quick...this area is radioactive." ca.ign.com/wikis/fallout-4/Power_Armor_LocationsHell here is another link lol www.techtimes.com/articles/106185/20151113/fallout-4-power-armor-where-to-get-fusion-cores-and-how-to-get-them-unlimited.htmBooby pins are easy once you get the hang of them. Try using your left stick, rotate the pin just a little, then just use the right stick to turn the screwdriver, if you feel resistance, stop, move the pin a little more, then try again, if still resisting, then stop, move the pin the other direction and repeat. Just experiment with little movements of the pin. My big mistake I was making I was moving both sticks at the same time and always breaking the pins, then I found through trial and error to move the pin on its own in slight increments, let go then just move the screwdriver. I've gotten pretty good at them now. If you read back a page or two you will see I was total noob to the Fallout series 4 days ago and have learned a lot by just wandering, experimenting, trying things. One thing is remember its not a race. You can just fart around at your own pace and learn one thing at a time. I'll tell ya, if I can play this game anyone can. --------------- Except I seem to have hit a brick wall in the water treatment plant, cant figure out how to get the pump working again. Project for tomorrow after I play my tournament rounds here, 5 hour stint of Fallout I need to take a break. Oh can you get on the freeway anyone? It looks like it would be fun to walk that all the way down. Okay this is my first fallout experience, im only 3 hours in and struggling. Started this yesterday. About 3 hours in so no spoilers really. Just finished exploring and learning the garage area. Found a Bobby pin on first house in concord so went to the cave and used it on the safe Loving the game so far. Love exploring! I just hope I can sell my broken clipboards soon

I'm at about the 11 hour mark. A few things: -was feeling a bit "meh" about the game until the 6 hour mark...then it starts to open up - I am having MAJOR ammunition and bottlecap problems...I keep running out. - I don't travel with Dogmeat anymore because I hate hearing him whimper when he is hurt. - I'm focussing on intelligence/charisma for my playthough - Slowly figuring out how things work in the settlement part of the game. In Sanctuary, I have constructed a two story, ugly behemoth known as "Fort Kick Ass"...still a bit clueless on the switches/power pylons, etc and what they do. Currently have 10 people there and they seem happy. A couple other smaller settlements as well. First thing I thought of when seeing Fort Kick Ass...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqM8mjpMWL8

Just a heads up. I had read there is a major game breaking bug that will cause corrupt saves and unable to play the game, there are some work arounds. Happens on PC, PS4 and X1 It seems to happen when doing a quest in Monsignor, that whole area appears to be corrupt. Weird I was down close to that area yesterday just wandering and had no issues. But you may want to avoid the area until a patch is out. Map with corrupt area in red Maplink1link 2On a funny note, I started up the game yesterday and got a message that I was carrying too much and cant run, went to fast travel back to Sanctuary and it wouldn't let me. I finally wandered all the way back, and unloaded almost everything. proceeded to go do some battle and quests. About 2 hours of playing, then decided to go build in Sanctuary. I'm in the workshop menu, hit the options button or whatever it is too quickly and it puts me in 3'rd person view. Only then did I realize I had done 2 hours of quests and battle, talking to people, then 2 hours of building, and I was only wearing my underwear, I accidentally ditched my outfit (clean blue suit) in the purge. No wonder that Piper chick started shooting at me in Diamond City right away, she must have thought I was a perv lol.

So brilliant me was going through an ammo dump clearing it out and I hit the ole F5 for a quicksave... the SECOND I do so I see three grenade warnings...boom. Auto reload last save...booom. Auto reload last save...boom. Auto reload last save...boom.
I spent like 10 minutes just watching myself die in horrible explosions.
Wasn't a big deal as my previous save was just a little before...but I did feel kinda dumb.
