Soooo after some binge play sessions over Christmas break, I'm done the main quest. Now I'm debating how many various side quests / settlements / trophies I should shoot for.
I'm wishing I had made a couple saves at various pivotal decision points... would make trying the different factions much easier.

I'm only 8 hours in and lvl10. Definitely going to play a lot more. full-time job and full-time family cut into gaming a lot. 1-2hrs a day at the most, sometimes 0hrs for consecutive days. Hard to keep up on my current favorites (TGC, Fallout 4, Rocket League, Path of Exile)

I'm almost at the 80 hour mark and I'm losing steam. I have already alienated one faction (finally)...but I keep getting distracted with exploring. Also, side quests are starting to annoy me. Earlier in the game, it was fun to explore a new area, clear it out and get some back story into the location. Now, I am getting random side quests that tell me to go clear out that same building I already had. I'm guessing that some of these quests just go on forever and ever, so I'm trying to avoid them. Pretty sure I have had to clear out Medford hospital 4 different times. It's becoming a grind...
Yet I can't really get myself to push through the main quest. I want to do and see everything I can, but I also kinda want to be done with the game. I have trouble finishing games. Whenever I feel like I'm nearing the end, I seem to lose interest, like I don't want it to end. I do the same thing with good books. Last day of my holidays today, maybe I'll push through and finish the main quest.

I too have tired of it, haven't played it in a while. Bought Dirt Rally have about an hour into that. GNCD has been taking up my time lately.
However, a trick I learned about the side quests is, once you have completed one, don't report back, let it sit in your pip boy. That way you wont get suckered into another.

Way late to the game, but I am loving this. A lot of the same features of the last two games but some new cool stuff. I love the settlement management stuff. Combat is a lot harder.

Since I was away from my PC for a while I actually just started the game over completely. TIME TO DO IT TOTALLY THE SAME WAY! just kidding. I'm shooting everyone in the face first then asking questions later.

This is the wasteland FFS. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. I don't need to be made to feel guilty for that.

not with the raiders no. They are kind of just the universal group of Douche's that nobody likes.

No as said previous you can't side with raiders. Now as your kinda new to the game I'll give you a really good tip. Make sure you do some quests for the railroad faction. It seems a lot of people just kill them early on. If you do some quests for them they will give you one of the best perks in the game called Ballistic Weave. This allows you to massively improve your underarmour - Vault Suit, Military Fatigues etc. You don't have to side with them for the endgame. Just make sure you get that perk before you, if you must kill them

When I played FO3 and New Vegas I tended not to write anyone off until the end if possible. I liked to play the game out to the fullest so as not to have to restart and do a bunch of stuff over again to experience everything.
