Here we go again. Good luck to all and stay out of the beach. Still haven't solved hole 5 yet. Shot a 69 on round 1. Not great but I'll take it. A nice eagle on a par 4 got me jump started after being +1 through 7.

72,68,68,72. Couldn't quite figure out those 6ft breakers on a few of the holes. Not to mention, my first round I hit into a fairway bunker on my first 3 holes. Probably hit into 10 or so bunkers that round. Was pleased that I pulled out an E for the round.

This course definitely brings to light how penalizing flying into a bunker off the tee is in this game. Nowhere close to real golf, where you have a chance of skipping out of bunker if you fly into it from the tee box.

Nowhere close to real golf, where you have a chance of skipping out of bunker if you fly into it from the tee box. There is too much penalty for missing fairway on this game and given the creator made narrow fairways and thin light rough it puts your up and down game on show too often. Also some greens have ridiculous breaks that mean your looking to 2-putt. I'm not moaning, I escaped all rounds under par and played well for the majority of it. A tough tournament for sure

It's a definite grind. Not sure on the last two rounds but the winds weren't too bad on the first two. Played fairly conservative off the tee, avoided most mistakes, and ended up 70-68 in the first two rounds. I have no idea what score will get me in 6th place (for another week) but I'm hoping I can get it to about -16.
Pins on 5 and 12 are tricky - managed to four putt 12 because I got a bit too frisky coming down the hill and lazy on a 3 footer. Gotta try to leave it below the hole and go from there.

Didn't like the course at all. The fairways are tight which isn't a problem but it is on holes like #9 where you don't have a landing area. The worst was the greens, too much slope and speed once again. By far the worst hole (for me) is #17. You hit it short of the green because of the major slope downhill if you go over but if you hit the fairway below the hole the ball always skips past the hole regardless. It's the dumbest hole I've seen yet. However I did start the tournament very good with an opening round of 67 but fell apart after that. 67,71,76,73.
Hope next weeks course has better greens.

Fury58 hit what I believe to be an exceptional shot on 17. That's how you play the hole. Well done that fella

All done! 66,63,66,67 (-26) Played the 17th 3 over for the week! The 5th and 14th pins will give me night mares for quite some time! Not going to miss this course but I'll give it credit for being a challenge. Good luck to you all, just not too much luck

One shot can make all the difference, I missed out on my only chance of a win by one shot, while playing on a exemption, I missed my card by one shot and last week, missed getting my strikes removed by one shot. If I had gotten that one shot, this week would have been a more relaxed affair but now I got to here I will be on the right side of that one shot. My first shot on the first hole hit a bunker, not the start I wanted on a hole that should bring a birdie but took my par. My first birdie chance came on the third with a easy tap in, always nice to get that first birdie down. I had another birdie chance on the fifth. It was not easy, a downhill breaking put. I lipped out and groaned as the ball rolled off the green. I decided to putt instead of chip and thankfully I saved par. I don't know what happened on the sixth, again a birdie chance with clear break from right to left. I made the adjustments and the ball went straight, a disappointing par. The next two holes were parred before I finally picked up my second birdie. It was a twelve footer, slightly down hill with a little break. Overall, not a bad front nine but can't help feeling I could have picked up another shot or two.
The back nine started with birdie. I over hit my second on the tenth and it rolled to far into a bunker. I did not play my bunker shot well and left myself a tricky birdie putt. Again I over hit and was faced with a eight par putt, was relieved when it dropped but this was another hole that I could have do picked up a shot. I parred the next hole, I had a long birdie putt that I did not play well, the ten foot par putt was a save, I got away with it on this hole. A two foot birdie putt on the twelfth brought my score to four under. A eighty yard pitch came within inches of eagle on the thirteenth, the to watch it roll twelve feet away was a sickener. I missed the birdie putt, this was one of those holes that could have been great but ended up ok. My approach on the fifteenth left me around six foot behind the hole. My birdie chance was one of those shot that scare me, should be simple but easy to mess up, thankfully this time I did not mess up. A par followed before I came to the dreaded seventeen. I tried to lay up, not going for the green in two, it did not work out as planned, I hit the green and rolled off to the left leaving a horrible chip with severe break. The ball rolled five feet past the hole, leaving a straightforward par putt that I was happy to take. I finished the last with a par, could easily have been birdie with the ball curling along the cup.
A bogey free 67, very happy with that. I could have picked up a couple more shots but could have easily dropped a couple as well so I think the score is a fair reflection on how I played. Outside my first tee shot, I think I hit every fairway and my midrange putting was good. It was a positive start which I need to keep up for all four rounds, easier said than done but let's see what happens, good luck all.

Well done Ryan. Great scoring on a very tough week Thanks rob. It was a tricky course for sure. I see you faired ok? Be interesting to see how the scores end up. I felt I missed a lot of makeable putts but I'm sure everyone did Won't be many near your score. -15 is a nice target for this tournament. Thought I wasn't going to get my web card and then the rules were changed and now I'm in! I'm probably still inbetween CC-A and Web. Not long until you'll be in web mate. Try this weeks web tour - 1st round winds of 22mph!!!
