Thanks rob. It was a tricky course for sure. I see you faired ok? Be interesting to see how the scores end up. I felt I missed a lot of makeable putts but I'm sure everyone did Won't be many near your score. -15 is a nice target for this tournament. Thought I wasn't going to get my web card and then the rules were changed and now I'm in! I'm probably still inbetween CC-A and Web. Not long until you'll be in web mate. Try this weeks web tour - 1st round winds of 22mph!!! That's awesome mate, well done! Yeah I had a go of the web event. Never played in winds that strong, was good to practice in. Took much less time on my putts and holed a heap, maybe that's telling me something haha

Anyway, you beat me by 1 that round. I played yours and Karl's ghost ball. Between the 3 of us we ripped that course up!

75 , 75 , 72 , 80...not enjoying game right now ...what is everyone using ..do you use draw and fade in the wind ....i was just riding the wind and it seems impossible to judge , a cross wind from left to right at 10mph with a 7 iron would usually require 15 to 16 clicks to the left to ride it in , but lately it could be anywhere between 15 to 35 clicks .. kills the the confidence in your shots ..maybe i need to change to draw and fade ?

Didn't like the course at all. The fairways are tight which isn't a problem but it is on holes like #9 where you don't have a landing area. The worst was the greens, too much slope and speed once again. By far the worst hole (for me) is #17. You hit it short of the green because of the major slope downhill if you go over but if you hit the fairway below the hole the ball always skips past the hole regardless. It's the dumbest hole I've seen yet. However I did start the tournament very good with an opening round of 67 but fell apart after that. 67,71,76,73. Hope next weeks course has better greens. HAHA ..I had a 104 foot putt on 17.. I somehow stroked the crap out of it and got it within 4 feet.. A nice up and down but yes, you are better off being short of that green..

Absolutely kicking myself over my third round. Couldn't hit an approach and, worse, couldn't make a putt.
I liked the challenge of this course overall, but I absolutely detest the greens (and pin placements) on Nos. 5, 14, and 17. Literally missed 5-foot birdie putts on 14 in the first two rounds. And No. 2 is an absolute killer.
Finished:
67-66-73-67 = -15
Not sure where that will get me, but round three is going to haunt me.
Good luck to all who are still on the course!

Really recommend going with fade/draw into the wind. Though -- this requires a pretty straight shot in order for you to maintain accuracy. If your shots have a fade/draw within the cone and aren't straight, then you'll either cancel out your draw/fade or make it go WAY too strong. However, after personally changing to using draw/fade, I think it's just much more consistent. Lets me aim at the pin and then learn over time how much fade/draw to put into different amounts of wind and lies. Good luck!

I've played 2 rounds so far and really struggling with the short game. When I think I have it figured out I have some type of brain fart and blow it. First round was a roller coaster, 8 birdies with 2 doubles and 3 bogies for a -1 ( 1st Round scorecard). I just wish I could be consistent. 2nd round was similar with a -3 finish. I'm very impressed with the skill level of people on this tour. You guys are good!

I play that way in real life so it's just natural for me to do this. I've always found shaping the ball into the wind to be dangerous and very tough to judge distance. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer here, just whatever people are more comfortable with

It's ridiculous drawing/fading 1 1/2 boxes for the sheer amount you lose in distance.

66 and 70, take it. 70 was disappointing as I was cruising and just started to hit bunker after bunker and was scrambling for par. Since this was the first time I played this course in winds under 15 i should be fine for the latter rounds LOL Shot -7 to -5 in those 15 mph winds! Just depends in the direction.
