I played the Thursday Edition last night. There's going to be a lot of people at -20 or lower next week. I'm excited for people to complain that it's too easy, and that there's no way they can keep up with the winner who's at -36. Exactly !!! LOL

Just played two rounds with the goggles on and managed -11 and -13. Winds were no more than 5mph and in those conditions I can see the top players going as low as -15.
Really do wish you could choose a wind range in practice as there's likely to be two rounds in the tournament that will be around 10mph+ so practice means very little sadly.

If I went a combined -26 over 20 rounds I would elated. A 61 and a 59?...wow. I can't get the ball to land within 10 ft on more than 2 or 3 holes per round. I just don't get all the calculations and take away 3 divide by 3..add 6. How long does it take to play a round with all those equations?..6 hours?..LOL

In respect of the maths I can do it all very quickly in my head having played it so much now. There's no need to change the elevation calc so simply divide by 3 and +/- accordingly. In respect of the approach, depending on the green firmness and whether the green is running downhill or uphill I find you sometimes need to take off as much as 10 yards with a 3i. Going down to a 9i and it can be as little as 3 yards so anything in between for the other Irons generally works well. Unless you are comfortable with fully lofting a 3W or 5W then I really wouldn't use a Wood on approach as 9/10 will just roll off the other side of the green. Fully lofting of course narrows the red cone severely so I use it with extreme caution (never near water). There's a lot more to take into account like the winds etc. but I can generally handle them too. Reoccurring word but practice is definitely the key. My mate bought the game a few weeks back. He's barely touched it, never practices for tournaments and he wonders why he's not getting better. In saying all that luck plays a big part too.

I can see myself finishing -20 or better if I play how I played last night

I can play in light winds (3-5mph) and I still struggle to shoot an even par 72 on this course. I just can't seem to dial anything in in order to have those 3-5 footers for birdie..or 10 footers for eagle on the 5's. I get 2-3 foot putts on every hole but they are usually for par or bogey. I know it will eventually fall into place, but It's frustrating when I play this game 2-3 hours a day and I still can't hit the rewarding shots into the pin.

When you play your approach, regardless of how short or long you are, is the shot going where you want it? If it is then we can rule that out but if not then accuracy is most certainly key, in which case definitely practice getting that line as straight as possible. Personally, I'm always looking at the controller when driving or approaching as I feel this makes me more accurate. I find too that with most CC courses, because there are very few red or amber grid lines you can generally aim straight for the pin once you've moved your target left or right if required when factoring in the wind.

I'm excited for people to complain that it's too easy, and that there's no way they can keep up with the winner who's at -36. I am predicting the winner of the CC's to be in the upper -40's. I'm a mediocre CC-C player and I've already hit -9 twice, -8 twice, and -7 once. Overall average for me has been about -4. For reference, I got +1 overall in week 32.

This is why I would like to see a mix of easy/hard courses.. I hope they dont go all easy from here on out because so many have been screaming that they can not get under par..

Whilst it's not the most difficult course, I'm in no doubt the tournament conditions will catch me out again and I'll be lucky to go -20 max.

Played the Saturday and Sunday rounds after a few drinks and ended up with even par on both..: there's a few nasty Greens though nothin as bad as our last couple weeks.
Also had an ace on the Sunday course...

For anyone who has played all four days in practice, what would you consider to be the toughest pins? Am only going to play one last practice round before the tourney on Saturday so just want to go with the toughest.

Paul, probably final day, just as in real life. Good luck! (Are you on the PS4 yet?)

Paul, probably final day, just as in real life. Good luck! (Are you on the PS4 yet?) Cheers Steve. I thought that would be most likely. I got the PS4 mate but I tried TGC at a friend's and I could barely hit a 100% shot and the swing method I used was exactly the same as on the XB1. I understand HBS are aware of the issue and it's due to be fixed so until then I'm gonna hold off buying it unfortunately mate and just stick to playing it on the XB1.
