Not a fan of this course. The elevation changes are excessive and the pin placements are a little wonky. My big beef, though (and I think this is inexcusable), is that you can be in the middle of a fairway and have an approach obstructed by trees. And there are plenty of holes where approaches are obstructed near the edges of the fairway and I've had tee shots headed for the fairway clip trees without trying to cut any corners. :Sigh:
And I don't like fantasy greens like 18.

On your second shot, you certainly have to aim to 10 yards or more to the right of the pin to counteract the slope. If you miss short on left, you have a chance at getting stuck on the ridge in front of the green. Happened to me once and it was like trying to hit a pitch shot over a wall when you're right next to the wall. Took me 5 shots to get on the green after one of the shots finally allowed the ball to roll back a few yards.

Agreed guys. #18 was one of two holes that I didn't particularly like but I personally thought the rest played fair and would hope the majority find it a refreshing course when compared to the last few. I did only play the one round so I don't want to count my chickens, however as it's only the pin locations that will change and not the speed/firmness then I'm quietly confident I'll finally be able to have a decent 4 rounds and I hope others feel the same.
No doubt I'll have my first over par tournament now!

Sir Paul, I've been meaning to ask. Can you give us some background as to the origins of your avatar? I'm very curious!

When I signed up to the forums I noticed that most guys had golfing avatars up. I just did a Google search on funny golf pictures and of all the ones I went through, that one gave me a chuckle! There was this one that I also liked but thought it was a little close to the edge.....

OK, I really suck at this game as we all know and I thought Fraxinus was a little easier than the last few weeks. And I wasn't even drunk when I played it. Not that I was drunk on any other course, but at least if I say that then someone might think I don't just flat out suck at the game.

I watched your W32 broadcast yesterday and you have improved tenfold. Your total was nowhere near a true reflection of how you played. Great starts then one bad shot and a load more just kept coming. That WGR 1 ranking has your name written all over it.

I'm sure greatness will prevail but without my specs I'm just a mere mortal. I should probably give a big shout out to my local opticians Specsavers for making greatness possible!

Ah, but wait, perhaps you should inquire of the revered Donald Trump as to what really makes greatness, despite the Specs at a good saving price.
