I like this course we're playing in a week, but if the wind gusts anywhere beyond 12 mph, good luck. Fairways are VERY narrow. Couple tough greens, too. If the wind is down, you can score. I think our friends on CC-E and CC-Z may struggle here.
Get out and practice!

I played a practice round last night and shot a +4. Hopefully there'll be no wind as the fairways are very narrow indeed with lots of bunkers forcing you to think every shot through. Difficult one this one as well.

actually this one I like better than boom booms crazy course the putting is key for me as I can easily put it 80 ft off the pin and at normal putting greens i will sink most of them look at me getting my first exemption with an average score of -8 (with preferable winds -12 to -14)

The entire time I was playing the course, I kept wondering: are there courses in the world that have this many narrow greens across the entire course?
I had a bad habit of hitting draws when I first started. This went away after I adjusted my technique, but apparently the problem is back with a vengeance. Now I'm aiming 3 degrees to the right to account for the fact that I'm probably going to inadvertently pull the ball to the left.
I will be lucky to get over 50% FIR's next week if I don't fix my game.

Just played 2 practice rounds then. This is tough!!! Both rounds had very light winds. If the wind blows this will be brutal!!

It is really tough in wind even that hard. If you end up in some of these fairway bunkers (or water, obviously) par is almost impossible and double bogey comes into play. Will be very interesting!

I saw one of Hansen's Twitch streams Steve and he had your Ghost playing. You boys did good as those fairways look frightening.

Can't just pound the ball and shrug at playing from the rough. Not going to work. On an unrelated note, glad to see it worked out for top 15 for us both at Loa Pali! Got me up in B with you bigger fishes! Take care.

Now it's all about the road to A and I look forward to you welcoming me to that when I (hopefully) follow in YOUR footsteps this time!

Club selection off tees is critical. Some holes really call for a 3 wood but you basically rid yourself any chance of birdie if you don't hit driver. Strategy will be very important

Shot placement and patience as far as chasing birdie. Just played a round here in winds averaging about 8 mph and shot -6 66. Pretty happy with that. If the wind is double digits, any score of 68 or better is a great round.

Nice course...but another one with frills bells and whistles out the whazoo. Nothing true to life about it in my opinion.

LOL
What's with the pin placement on #14?
C'mon people...at least somewhat follow some USGA rules when placing these pins. I just 5 putted from 6 ft.
2 practice rounds
+5 - 77 +7 - 79

Some of the pin placements are a bit absurd. Have to add a lot of height to the approach shots. Some of the par 4's are close to impossible with the wrong wind. Not a big fan of this course even though it's looks nice. Oh well, can't love all of them. Will certainly be a big challenge.
