I birdied hole #5 today. This video should tell you just how ridiculous the green is.

The question you've got to ask is could the ball stop a couple of feet past if you just missed it barely, I think it maybe could with these speeds, so it's borderline but I think ok. If it couldn't then the speeds need to be slowed down or pin changed position.

not to come as a complete tool but 7 weeks ago people were saying once we get equal winds everything will be ok the very same jokers are still not satisfied saying the courses are to damn difficult when will you be satisfied?

I finally got a chance to play this one last night. It is obviously going to be a tough driving course if the winds pick up. I always thought that narrow fairways with hazards all in the landing area were frowned upon by TGCT, but I guess not. I'm not playing well at the moment and could not hit most approach shots close enough, but that's my problem and not the course's fault. Like others have said, this course will be two different ones based on the wind, but at least it will be the same for everyone.

I only had time for the front 9 last night. Had very mild winds. 6mph at most, usually around 2-3. Was able to go -1 despite missing a lot of fairways.
I think the simple fact that the greens aren't skating rinks will make this easier to play. You can actually land a ball near the hole with a mid iron and not have it roll into the back rough. Or miss a putt and have it roll 12 feet past every time.

Couple of holes where you simply MUST be on the correct side of the hole/green. Few really hard pins.

Just played this in calm winds earlier for the first time. This course would be very good if the fairways were wider indeed. With calm winds the lack of width is a little less noticeable. Hope designers take note to make fairways with wind in mind from now on.

I need everyone in CC-A to WD this week since the tournament is taking place in Myrtle Beach. It would be nice to have a good showing in the state where I live.

Just played a practice round 5-7 mph winds for the round..
After 9 I was -5 with a nice eagle on the long par 5 third... Hit the second shot and it hit in the fairway in front of the green rolled and hit the pin but didn't drop...
Back 9 I caught a case of the cant putts.. LOL One bird and two bogies on back finishing up -4 for the round
Gonna be an absolute beast in winds for sure.... Lovely little course however, paper thin fairways... gonna take a lot of patience and not a lot of RAGE golf ha ha
good luck gang..

One thing I'm finding with this course, though it could be just coincidence, is that the wind direction changes so much. Just done an approach on #4 and as I swung back the wind was 8mph due South. Follow through and it was due West.
Pain in the buttocks when, what would have likely been a great approach, it ends up in the sand.

I've come the closest to a hole in one numerous times on #5 including an in and out(in on the fly bounced out for a 2 inch birdie) in my last round played there in 13-17mph winds. Hit to the back right over the pin and it will roll back to the hole every time. I hit mine 5ft past the pin on #5 n it didn roll back. Had '6 downhill missed it and despite only barely hitting it i rolled down onto the fringe. Il predict now the hole plays over par for the tourny and prob as stroke index no. 1. Anything above the hole is a killer because your come back putt will carry to the front fringe no matter where you are at. Gottta be below the hole on your tee shot (but also carry the water). On a positive, I have gotten really good at chipping from the fringe on this hole.
The toughest holes I think are 17&18. They are long par 4's where if there is any higher winds you can't even hit driver off the tee because of the traps. Long second shots and tough greens.

I think they've got it backwards in the course selections. PGA and Web have drawn some pretty nice courses the past month since I've been here.
I see they also tweaked Fraxinus and it is now virtually unplayable with the wind and will also be a multi pin.
The CC Conspiracy continues
