This update is the best update yet because finally after three years you can actually scan a flying creature without 10 minutes of frustration.

I was very frustrated at how hard it is to walk. How do you teleport?

I was very frustrated at how hard it is to walk. How do you teleport? It's under Settings. I enjoy the walking better than teleporting around. It's been so long since i played I'm totally lost as to what I was up to when I stopped. I have 3 different saved games. One is my original startup and i've been using that one. Once I quit being so scatterbrained i may actually accomplish something lol.

Fortunately I put in significant time a couple months ago and basically finished all the story elements aside from making it to the centre. Means I can just focus on exploring and working my way closer to the middle.

So what does everyone think? Is No Man's Sky the killer app that everyone should buy a VR headset to play or does it just show that we still have a while to wait until VR reaches its' full potential?
I certainly don't think it's a game you break out to impress anyone with but having spent time playing in VR I don't think I want to play it flat again despite how much better it looks that way.

I like it in VR but I won't always play it in that mode. The games I have that best shows VR in a game environment is Everybody's Golf VR, Gran Turismo VR and DriveClub VR ....... if you are simply talking about what a game can look/play like in VR. I need to get another Move controller so I can check out the Spiderman experiences they have up. That CoD Jackal VR things looks incredibly cool in the cockpit, I'm still wondering if a full game is going to come of that. I did not grab Ace Combat yet. Overall for NMS, I do like it. I think they did as good as they could at this point in time, especially as an add-in and not something that was part of the original game config (as far as I know).

You need to play Astro Bot Rescue Mission if you haven't already. It actually looks pretty good and does a great job of showing how VR can be fun and innovative in a way non-VR games can't do. Playing through that game gave me feelings I hadn't had while playing something since the first time I played Super Mario 64.

I like that table top, 3rd person 3D camera view it uses too. I'm waiting for the day when sports games will implement VR properly. I'd love to see TGC, Madden, MLB the Show, NHL, NBA2K and other sports games adopt that tabletop VR experience, taking advantage of the 3D ability without people having to buy a 3D TV. i never did jump into the 3D TV craze and glad I didn't but it would be a nice application for gaming using VR 3D instead.

Took me just over three years to do it but I finally got the platinum trophy. Not what I would call a challenging platinum to get but most definitely time consuming unless you go out of your way to just work towards the trophy goals. Still 600000+ light years from the galactic core so there's still work to be done.

I've been on the Artemis/Apollo/-null- storyline thing for a bit since this update. I found an ancient bones planet with virtually no sentinels and very calm weather. Gonna play some Indiana Jones for a while here since the bones can sell for a lot.

I've had a couple bones and salvageable scraps planets and made a couple million in no time there. Still make cash too quick and easy just by scanning plants and animals. Over 50 million in the bank with no real effort and nothing to spend it on. Don't base build or do freighter stuff and I like my ship. Finally got my Atlas Pass v3 as well a few days ago.

I have close to 20 mil in the bank but I do want to upgrade my starship and freighter. I also do a little base building but I haven't gone wild with it. At some point I'll build a farm base and grow space cannabis (nip nip) just for the hell of it. I have about 10-12 trays of Gravitino Balls growing on the freighter that I cash in for about 100-150K when I get on board. i also send out frigates on missions from the Freighter. They come back with some blueprints and a lot of cash most of the time. So much to do in this game, it's hard not to get sidetracked with stuff lol.

I remembered when this game came out I was wanting to try it, but I never did. But better late than never. So far so good, just got the hyperdrive installed before I had to take off today.
