I know I'm in the minority here...BUT...I really do miss the days from TGC 1 where we were all in one tour and we just competed against everyone. The way to do that now in my opinion is turn off swing timing and just let course management be the factor in who wins...I would LOVE to see a different person win every week or even better, someone who has been in CC-F win all of the sudden. Oh, the good old days when we would watch Doyley on Twitch in some classic matches

I had another league I was playing in that did earlier this summer to deal with everyone's controllers being of different quality and swing timing being inconsistent, and it just became a putting contest. Maybe we weren't finding hard enough courses or cranking the conditions up high enough...but they were wild at one point, and the players that were at the highest levels before were still the ones hitting greens and making 20 foot puts for eagles and birdies while the lowest tier still missed 10 footers and miss judged the wind by a few mph and got rejected off tiny greens. We have 4 flights with 5-15 people playing in each flight each week. There wasn't much movement between flights. (We enter scores in an excel spread sheet that has been blessed by some wizardry I am unable to comprehend)

Wasn't there also a PGA tour and European Tour back then and you could switch between tours depending if you liked that course that week or was that later games.
Only thing i feel these days on this site compared to the early days it has become more a Community course design site than more about the golf and the results and the banter, i may be wrong and just feeling old but i feel and said it many times since tgc1 the game might have got better but the ways to play and enjoy gone backwards i feel never got over the removal of the 4 course set up option when each round felt different.

The cut would be -40.

Turning off swing timing allows you to focus more on you iron game.

Otherwise everyone aims dead at the flag and there’s no strategy or course management at all. As was the case with TGC1, no tempo and no misses results in far more tricked up courses than you are playing now. Because how else can you make it remotely challenging when everyone can hit it dead straight, exactly where they want to? I agree that tempo is imperfect. I’d love for everyone to play a stock draw or fade (like real life) and have a logical miss as a result, including long of the greens and running through rough. But that’s a different conversation 🙂

But that’s a different conversation 🙂 Well playing legend difficulty requires more course management as there is so much more margin for error on approach shots. Also driving on master difficulty is just point and shoot to an extent as it is just way too forgiving on master with a driver in your hand. There is just no fear factor at all for any drive when it just goes pretty straight even if your swing is a bit off. That's why HB gave us a legend difficulty, to make courses more challenging. Since playing legend and enjoying it so much, no way could I ever go back to master difficulty. My average score is around par with zero aids and legend and love the challenge that most courses bring now. Legend brings so much more hazards around the fairway into play as swingplane is a as tough as tempo, Tbh it's swingplane that I really have to concentrate on, those push and pull shots can be really punishing.
